# How to Create Server with the Preferred Ubuntu Version

> Learn how to create a server in xCloud with your preferred Ubuntu version. Follow a simple process to select Ubuntu version with ease.

Keeping your server OS updated is essential for performance, security, and compatibility. In xCloud, you can create server and choose your preferred Ubuntu version for your server.

**First,** head to your xCloud dashboard and click **‘Create Server’.** You can select **Ubuntu 24.04** (default) or **Ubuntu 26.04** (beta) during the server creation process. Ubuntu 22.04 is no longer offered for new cloud servers. 

**_Note:_** You **cannot upgrade** the Ubuntu version **on an existing server** in xCloud.

Instead, you must:

1.  **Create a new server** with the upgraded Ubuntu version.
2.  **Clone your existing sites** to the newly created server.
