How to Migrate from Ubuntu 20.04 to Ubuntu 24.04 with xCloud

As Ubuntu 20.04 reaches its official end-of-life on May 31, 2025, it is essential to begin migrating your servers and applications to a supported version.

If you want to migrate from Ubuntu 20.04 to Ubuntu 24.04, you cannot upgrade your operating system in place because each version of Ubuntu has a different stack architecture. Automated upgrades do not work because of differences in dependencies and package compatibility.

Rather, with xCloud, you can create a new server with the updated Ubuntu version and use the full server clone feature to clone your entire existing server.

๐Ÿ‘‰Follow the step-by-step instructions to clone a full server with xCloud?

Thatโ€™s it! You can successfully migrate from Ubuntu 20.04 to Ubuntu 24.04 with xCloud.
