Web Servers Compatibility For Different Applications

Different web server stacks are designed to support different types of applications. Each stack is built to handle specific types of workloads from hosting websites and web applications to running container-based services.
Stacks Provided by xCloud
xCloud offers multiple web server stacks, allowing you to deploy different types of applications easily:
- NGINX (Docker installed on demand)
- OpenLiteSpeed (OLS) (no Docker)
- Plain: a bare server with no web server, PHP or database, for your own software. See How to Create a Plain Server.
Docker apps run on an NGINX server. xCloud installs Docker automatically the first time you deploy a container app, or you can install it ahead of time: open the server, go to ‘Management’ → ‘Settings’, and under Install a Service click Install next to Docker. OpenLiteSpeed servers cannot run Docker.
