Maybe it was sold, there was a change in management, or they stopped being hungry, but the quality of the RunCloud offering declined and it hasn't been moving forward quickly. What is Vaultwarden?

Vaultwarden is an unofficial, lightweight server implementation of the Bitwarden API, written in Rust. It's fully compatible with the official Bitwarden apps, browser extensions and CLI, so nothing changes for the people using it — only where the vault lives.

Do I need technical skills?

No. There is nothing to configure by hand and no terminal to open. You pick a server size and we provision, install and maintain everything for you.

How long does deployment take?

About five minutes. You create an account, choose a plan, and your vault is live — no server setup in between.

What's the difference between xCloud and DIY hosting?

DIY hosting on DigitalOcean, Contabo or Hostinger means an hour or more of Docker and reverse-proxy setup, manual updates and security patches, and troubleshooting when something breaks. On xCloud it's 5 minutes to a live vault, zero maintenance, automatic updates and backups, and 24/7 expert support.

Is my data safe and private?

Every plan is a dedicated Cloud VPS — your vault isn't sharing a machine with anyone else. On top of that, Vaultwarden encrypts your vault client-side before it ever reaches the server, so even we can't read your passwords.

Which Bitwarden apps can I use?

Any official Bitwarden client — the desktop app, the mobile app on iOS and Android, every major browser extension, and the CLI. Just point them at your own server's URL instead of bitwarden.com.

Can I migrate from Bitwarden or another vault?

Yes. Vaultwarden supports the standard Bitwarden JSON/CSV export format, so you can import an existing vault in a few clicks after deployment.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. There is no lock-in — cancel any time. Hosting is billed monthly and charged for what you actually use, so when you delete the server the unused balance is refunded to your account, less up to 10% in payment-processing fees.
