Enhance alternatives

xCloud vs Enhance: Pricing, Server Control, and Features Compared

Enhance is a control panel you install, host and update on your own server, billed per website. xCloud is a hosted panel for servers you own, billed per server, with managed servers if you want them.

  • Free for your first server, then $3 to $5 per server, not per site
  • No control panel server to install, patch or keep in sync
  • One-click Git deploys, Docker, Laravel, Node.js and 543 one-click apps
  • MCP and AI agent skills to run servers from Claude, Cursor or ChatGPT
  • 24/7 live chat, and a managed server from $5/month if you ever want one

Quick verdict

Choose xCloud if…

  • You would rather not run your own control panel server. Enhance installs on your infrastructure and every server must be updated to the same version; xCloud's panel is hosted for you.
  • You want to pay per server, not per site. Every paid xCloud server runs unlimited sites, so dense servers get cheaper.
  • You ship more than PHP sites: one-click Git deploys with stack detection, Docker and Docker Compose, Laravel queues and Horizon, Node.js and Next.js. Enhance's Git deploy is still under development.
  • You want AI agents to manage servers and sites through an MCP endpoint and installable agent skills.
  • You want the option of a managed server from $5/month later, without switching panels. Enhance never sells the server.
  • You run a WordPress agency and want blueprints, a bulk updates manager, vulnerability scanning, broken-link monitoring and branded client reports built in.
  • You want firewall management and SSH lockdown in the panel, not on the command line.
  • You want 24/7 live chat. Enhance support is tickets and email, 9am to 9pm GMT.
  • You want a free tier and a 14-day refund on your own servers.

Choose Enhance if…

  • Enhance is the stronger pick if you run a traditional shared-hosting business: built-in email and DNS servers, per-site containers with hard CPU, IO and memory limits, roles split across a multi-server cluster, customer impersonation, multi-tier resellers, and WHMCS, Blesta or HostBill provisioning.
  • It also costs less when you host only a handful of sites per server.
  • This page says where, row by row.

Per Site or Per Server? Pick the Bill That Fits.

Enhance sells one thing: a licence for a panel you host yourself, billed by the number of websites. xCloud sells three: managed servers, a hosted panel for your own servers, or a white-label reseller program.

Pricing

xCloud vs Enhance: Panel Pricing Compared

Both panels run on servers you pay your provider for, so this compares the panel bill only. Enhance charges per website. xCloud charges per server. Which is cheaper depends on how many sites you put on each server.

Panel fees only, billed monthly in USD, excluding your provider's server bill and VAT. Enhance figures use its published tiers: $0.15 per site up to 5,000, then $0.10, with a $10 minimum. Above roughly 20 to 33 sites per server, xCloud's per-server price is lower; below that, Enhance's per-site price is. The "one app per server" row is there on purpose.

Who Runs the Panel Itself?

Both products leave you root on your servers. The difference is the control panel: Enhance is software you host, cluster and update yourself; xCloud runs the panel for you and connects to your servers over SSH.

The Stack Underneath: Web Servers, Databases and Apps

Enhance covers more classic web servers and databases. xCloud covers more of what modern projects deploy: Git, Docker, Laravel and a large app library. Neither publishes a benchmark, and this page will not invent one.

Neither platform is benchmarked here. Stack differences are verifiable and stated as such; speed claims are not, and are left out on purpose.

Email and DNS: Where Enhance Leads

If you sell email and DNS hosting to your customers, Enhance runs both as built-in server roles. xCloud takes a different route: a managed Mailbox add-on, a mail delivery service, and Cloudflare for DNS.

Email and DNSxCloudEnhance
Mail and name servers
Built-in mail serverNo. Mailbox add-on instead.Yes. Postfix, Dovecot and rspamd as an email role, on any number of servers.

This is the one section where Enhance's shared-hosting roots show most clearly. If email and DNS are products you sell, weigh this table heavily.

Firewalls, Backups and What You Can Restore

xCloud vs Enhance: Frequently Asked Questions

Direct answers to what people ask before choosing between xCloud and Enhance.

What is the difference between xCloud and Enhance?

Enhance is a control panel you host yourself and pay for per website; xCloud is a hosted panel you pay for per server, with managed servers on top.

Enhance installs on your own Ubuntu 24.04 server and can grow into a multi-server cluster with app, database, email, DNS and backup roles. It is built for web hosting companies replacing cPanel or Plesk. xCloud runs the panel for you and connects to servers you own on any provider, or provisions managed servers itself. It leans toward WordPress agencies and developers, with Git deploys, Docker, Laravel, Node.js and AI agent tooling.

Is xCloud cheaper than Enhance?

It depends on how many sites you run per server: xCloud is cheaper on busy servers, Enhance on sparse ones.

Enhance charges $0.15 per website per month with a $10 minimum. xCloud is free for one server with up to 10 sites, then $3 to $5 per server with unlimited sites. At 500 sites on 5 servers, the panel bill is about $20 on xCloud against $75 on Enhance. At 30 sites spread over 10 servers, it is about $36 on xCloud against $10 on Enhance. Both exclude your server provider's bill.

How does Enhance's pricing work?

Per hosted website, billed monthly in arrears, with tiers that get cheaper as you grow.

$0.15 per site up to 5,000 sites, $0.10 from 5,001 to 25,000, and $0.075 from 25,001 to 100,000, with a $10 monthly minimum. Servers, addon domains, staging sites and soft-deleted sites are not billed. Prices exclude VAT, and there is no long-term contract.

Do I have to host the control panel myself with Enhance?

Yes. Enhance is not SaaS; xCloud is.

Enhance installs on infrastructure you provide, with a minimum of 2 GB RAM, 2 vCPU, 20 GB disk and Ubuntu 24.04, and you apply updates with apt across your servers. With xCloud there is no panel server: you sign up and connect a server.

Which is better for a web hosting company?

Enhance, if you sell traditional shared hosting with email and DNS; xCloud, if you sell managed WordPress or app hosting under your brand.

Enhance's built-in mail and DNS roles, per-site containers, hard resource limits, multi-tier resellers and WHMCS-style billing modules are designed for classic shared hosting. xCloud's reseller program lets you sell managed servers, your own servers, Mailbox plans and AI agent hosting under your own brand, billed through your own Stripe account.

Which is better for WordPress agencies?

xCloud, for agency tooling and the per-server price.

xCloud includes blueprints and snapshots, an updates manager across every site, vulnerability scanning, broken-link and PageSpeed monitoring, and branded client reports. Enhance has a solid WordPress toolkit with staging, cloning, SSO and auto-updates, but not that agency layer.

Does Enhance support Git deployment or Docker?

Not today. Git deploy is under development on Enhance's roadmap, and Docker is not offered.

xCloud has one-click Git deploys that detect the stack and write the deploy script, plus Docker and Docker Compose hosting alongside WordPress and PHP sites on the same server.

Can AI agents manage servers on xCloud or Enhance?

On xCloud, yes. Enhance publishes no MCP endpoint.

xCloud provides an MCP server and installable agent skills, so Claude, Cursor, ChatGPT or any MCP-compatible agent can manage servers and sites. Enhance has a full REST API, which developers can script against.

Which platform has better backups?

Enhance restores more granularly; xCloud backs up to more places.

Both offer incremental backups and downloadable backups. Enhance adds single-file restores, self-service restores for customers and restores of hard-deleted sites. xCloud adds off-site targets such as Google Drive, pCloud, Wasabi and SFTP, full server backups on managed servers, and backups for Docker apps.

Does Enhance host email and DNS?

Yes, as built-in server roles. xCloud uses add-ons and Cloudflare instead.

Enhance runs Postfix, Dovecot, rspamd and Roundcube for email and PowerDNS for DNS. xCloud offers Mailbox from $1 per mailbox (with a free mailbox per domain on managed and provider servers), Mail Delivery for transactional email, and DNS through its Cloudflare integration.

Can I migrate from Enhance to xCloud?

Yes, without a rebuild. xCloud migrates WordPress sites for free.

Enhance website backups are downloadable, and WordPress sites move with the xCloud migration plugin or Migrate Guru. The usual approach: migrate, test on xCloud while DNS still points at Enhance, then cut over. Plan email and DNS separately if Enhance hosts them.

How does support compare?

xCloud offers 24/7 live chat; Enhance offers tickets and email from 9am to 9pm GMT.

Neither charges extra for support. Enhance also runs a community forum.
