✍🏼 October 2: Contributor Day
Day one is about giving back to the open-source project so many of us build our work on. Join teams like Core, Design, Polyglots or Marketing and spend the day fixing bugs, improving documentation, translating strings or testing releases. You do not need to be a senior developer to show up. You just need to be curious enough to learn how contributions actually happen, shoulder to shoulder with people who do it every day.
🎤 October 3: Conference Day
Day two is the main event. A full schedule of talks, workshops and panel discussions runs at the Central Auditorium while the expo area buzzes between sessions. This is the day to fill your notebook, ask the questions you have been sitting on and finally put faces to the names you only know from Slack.
🍃 Say Hello to the Sylhet Wapuu
Every WordCamp gets its own Wapuu and Sylhet’s might be the most charming one yet. Designed by Provath Ghosh, a motion designer and visual storyteller based in Sylhet, this Wapuu carries a woven basket filled with freshly gathered tea leaves and wears striped cloth drawn from tea garden work culture.
The palette runs through leafy greens, earthy browns and warm yellows, with the familiar green WordPress emblem tying it back to the global community.
In the designer’s own words, it is ‘my tribute to Sylhet’s tea workers, the hands behind every basket of freshly gathered leaves.’ A small detail that says a lot about this event. Meet the Sylhet Wapuu here then keep an eye out for it on the swag.

💬 Panel Discussion: AI and Modern Workflows
M Asif Rahman (Founder) and Shahjahan Jewel take the stage together for what should be one of the liveliest conversations of the day. Two people who have spent years building WordPress products, talking through how AI is reshaping the way teams plan, build and ship. If you sit in on only one panel, make it this one.
🎤 Speaker Sessions
Nazmul Hasan Rupok (Co-Founder) takes on From Plugins to Agents: The New WordPress Architecture. A look at how the building blocks of WordPress are shifting as AI agents enter the picture. If you write plugins for a living, this one is worth showing up early for.
Khan Rafin Ahmed (Head of Support & Product) presents Customer Support, Reimagined: How AI Agents and MCP Empower Teams to Do More. Practical ground on using AI agents and the Model Context Protocol so a small support team can handle far more than its headcount suggests.

Explore Sylhet While You Are There! 🌴
Come early. Stay late. Seriously. Sylhet is the region that gave Bangladesh its tea and it is green, hilly and unhurried in a way that is hard to find anywhere else in the country. Almost everything below is an easy day trip from the city.
- Jaflong: about 56 to 58 km from the city centre, where the crystal-clear Piyain River runs over stone beds with the Meghalaya hills rising right behind it. The historic Dawki Bridge from 1932 still stands over the water.
- Ratargul Swamp Forest: 26 km out, a freshwater swamp forest that floods 20 to 30 feet deep in monsoon season. You explore it by boat, gliding between half-submerged trees.
- Bichanakandi: roughly 39 to 40 km away in Gowainghat, where a quarry landscape, a waterfall and a branch of the Piyain river all meet in one frame. Take a CNG to Hadarpar, then a local boat for the final stretch.
- Bholaganj Sada Pathor: 33 to 35 km out and famous for the white stones scattered along the banks of the Dhalai River, with the Khasi Hills filling the background.
- Lalakhal: 44 km away and known for striking turquoise-blue river water that looks almost unreal in daylight.
- The tea gardens: Malnicherra, Lakkatura, Tarapur, Ali Bahar and Khadim estates all sit along Airport Road, just a 10 to 15 minute CNG ride from Amberkhana Point. Malnicherra is the oldest tea garden in the subcontinent.
Short on time? The tea gardens are the easy win. Fifteen minutes from the city and you are standing in the middle of the landscape Sylhet is famous for.
