SERVER CLONE

Clone a Server's Sites to Another Server

Server cloning on xCloud copies the sites you select from one server to another server in your team. Choose a demo or live domain for each site and follow the progress. It helps agencies and developers move many sites at once. Server cloning is a paid-plan feature; it is not on the Free plan.

  • Select all sites or only the ones you want
  • A demo or live domain for each site
  • Your destination server is checked for space first

WHY IT MATTERS

Why Clone a Server Instead of Moving Sites One by One?

Moving ten sites by hand means ten rounds of the same work.

  • Move sites together

Pick every site on a server in one list, instead of starting a move for each.

  • Change to a bigger server

Copy your sites to a larger server and test them before you switch domains.

  • Keep the original running

The sites on your source server stay in place while the copies are made.

WHAT YOU GET

What Does a Server Clone Copy?

It copies sites. It does not make an exact image of the whole server.

  • Finds your sites

xCloud reads the source server and lists the WordPress and Laravel sites it finds.

  • Lets you choose

Use Select All or tick only the sites you want to copy.

  • Sets domains

Choose a demo domain or a live domain for each site.

  • Prepares the database

If the destination has no database software, you choose an engine and version.

  • Uses a temporary key

A temporary access key connects the two servers and is removed afterwards.

  • Shows progress

A processing page shows how the clone is going.

LIMITS AND PLANS

What Do You Need to Clone a Server?

  • Paid plans only

Server cloning is part of xCloud's paid plans. It is not on the Free plan. Compare plans to see what each one includes.

  • An existing destination

Create the destination server first. It must be set up, connected and in the same team.

  • Enough disk space

The destination needs the space your selected sites use, plus 1 GB.

  • Web server stacks

Sites are found on Nginx and OpenLiteSpeed servers. AI agent stacks such as OpenClaw cannot be cloned.

Frequently Asked Questions

What people ask about Clone server on xCloud.

Is a server clone an exact copy of the server?

No. It copies the sites you select. It does not copy the operating system, system users, firewall rules or other services, so set those up on the destination server if you need them.

Does cloning create the new server for me?

No. The destination must be a server you already have in the same team, connected and fully set up. Create it first, then start the clone.

Can I clone only some sites from a server?

Yes. The site list lets you tick the sites you want, and at least one must be selected. Select All picks every site in the list.

Should I use a demo domain or a live domain?

A demo domain lets you check the copied site before you move any traffic. Use a live domain when you are ready to serve that domain from the new server.

Can I clone a single site instead?

Yes. Use Clone Site from the site itself when you need one copy. It also lets you choose the database, PHP version and which settings come with it.
