Immich Hosting Live In 5 Minutes

Self-hosted photo backup for your phone, on your own server. Albums, sharing, facial recognition and search — open-source photo management on hardware you control instead of a cloud account you rent.

  • No terminal
  • No technical skills needed
  • No lock-in, cancel anytime

From Sign-Up to a Private Photo Library In Just 3 Easy Steps

Get Immich running fast with a guided OneClick form. Four services — the app, machine learning, PostgreSQL and Valkey — come up together, with no Compose file to assemble and no reverse proxy to configure.

  1. Step 01

Create your xCloud account and choose your plan. Takes 30 seconds — no server or technical setup needed.

  2. Step 02

    We Deploy Immich

Enter a site title and a domain — there are no app-specific fields. We bring up the Immich server, its machine-learning container, PostgreSQL and Valkey together, generate the database credentials, and finish HTTPS in under 5 minutes.

  3. Step 03

    Back Up Your Phone

Open the URL, choose Getting Started and create the first account — it becomes the administrator. Then install the official mobile app, point it at the same HTTPS address, pick your albums and turn backup on.

Not Just A Backup Folder — A Photo Library That's Genuinely Yours

Immich self hosted is a full photo and video experience: the timeline, the search, the faces and the memories you expect from a phone gallery, running against storage you own.

  • Self-Hosted Photo Backup

Point the official mobile app at your own Immich server, choose your albums, and new photos and videos upload themselves in the background.

  • Facial Recognition

The bundled machine-learning service groups people across your library on your own CPU — no third-party service ever sees a face.

  • Semantic Search

Find the picture by describing it rather than by remembering the date it was taken or the folder you filed it under.

  • Albums And Sharing

Build albums, share them with other users on the server, pair with a partner, or hand out a public link for one set of photos.

  • Memories And Maps

Revisit this-day-in-past-years, and browse the library by where the photos were taken using their own metadata.

  • Multi-User By Design

Give everyone in the household their own account and timeline on one server, with the storage structure you define.

Cloud VPS 24 GB

$84.99per month

Every size is a dedicated Cloud VPS we provision, patch, monitor and restore. Billed monthly with no lock-in — delete the server and the unused balance comes back to your account. The 6 GB rung sold elsewhere on this site is deliberately absent: it is exactly Immich's own minimum with nothing left for the operating system, and upstream recommends 8 GB. Immich itself is free under the AGPL-3.0 licence.

Already Have a Server? Bring Your Own

Connect any VPS — DigitalOcean, Vultr, Linode, AWS, Hetzner or bare metal — and deploy Immich on it through the same panel, for a per-server management fee instead of a Cloud VPS rental. Size the disk from the library you actually have.

See why agencies, developers, startups, and growing businesses choose xCloud to power their projects.

xCloud works really well, I am surprised by its performance being this the release version, I have tried many paid platforms such as runcloud, cloudpages or serveravatar, as well as free platforms such as CyberPanel, CloudPanel or Hestia Control Panel and direct competitors such as SpinupWP and FlyWP. Of all those that I have tried, the platform that works best for WordPress is SpinupWP and I believe that xCloud can reach and surpass that development, its roadmap is promising. Congratulations to the xCloud team, I hope they become the leading platform in the segment, it has all the potential to achieve it!

I've been with runcloud for the last 3 years. However, after trying xcloud for the last month, I'm switching over. They are on a roll with their setup.

I'm moving my servers to xCloud, a cloud control panel by M Asif Rahman and the WPDeveloper team. Their roadmap looks interesting and no, there are no team mates nor API limits with xCloud! #xCloud #wordpress #hosting

xCloud is like having an expert server team on call — without the big agency costs. It's given me back my time and given my clients peace of mind. Highly recommended for freelancers and small teams who want reliable performance and security.

xCloud isn't just a solution. It's like one of that friend who got your back when you screw things up pretty bad.

Trust me when I say, once people explore the potential of xCloud they gonna switch from other panels, just keep delivering the best tech, lots of love for the team 😍😍

So far my experience has been smooth like silk. I didn't imagine that configuring and managing a VPS would be so easy. As of today, I have deployed 8 sites. The support is good, and they treat users with respect, even if they ask stupid questions (myself included). For the future, I hope for greater flexibility in scheduled backups and more comprehensive and consistent documentation. I'm sure that within a few months, xCloud will become the leader in its segment. This community is amazing, and the Staff here is super helpful.

Came from cloudways then to runcloud then to xcloud. Looks like I'm staying here.

I've recently taken all of my Vultr-hosted sites and gotten rid of cPanel for them to substitute it with xCloud. I have to say, I'm really impressed with xCloud so far! The interface is definitely the standout feature for me.
Tony Lewis
I came from Cloudways and won't go back. Highly impressed with xCloud. Glad I gave them a chance.
Jared McDowell
I like xCloud better than RunCloud, but one thing I'll point out is that some years ago RunCloud was hungry for business, the support was outstanding, and the community was active and helped each other. Maybe it was sold, there was a change in management, or they stopped being hungry, but the quality of the RunCloud offering declined and it hasn't been moving forward quickly. My point is that currently the xCloud team has the edge and it is theirs to keep or lose

Dear xCloud Team, I have been using xCloud for some time now and am genuinely impressed with its capabilities and the flexibility it offers by allowing users to bring their own VPS for management. It's a fantastic service, and my experience so far has been very positive. Successful migrated 5 sites on a single server. Xcloud migration tool worked great. There were few hiccups with security plugin like MalCare but disabling the plugin prior to migration worked just fine.

Frequently Asked Questions

Feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns you may have.

What is Immich?

Immich is a high-performance, self-hosted photo and video library. It backs up your phone automatically, gives you a timeline, albums, shared albums, map and metadata views, memories, partner sharing, facial recognition and semantic search — on a server you own rather than a cloud account you rent.

Is Immich free?

Yes. The server is AGPL-3.0 software and Immich says its features stay free, without paywalls. Optional lifetime product keys — $25 single-user and $100 family, as listed on the official purchase page in July 2026 — support development; they require your own hardware and unlock no extra features. Buy them from Immich directly; xCloud does not resell them.

Is xCloud affiliated with Immich?

No. There is no partnership or endorsement between xCloud and the Immich project. This is a deployment template for open-source software that anyone can self-host; Immich is an independent project and its name and marks belong to it.

Can I run Immich with Docker?

That is exactly what this is — but you don't write the Compose file. The official Immich Docker images are what it runs: the template deploys the four upstream-aligned services together, keeps PostgreSQL and Valkey off public ports, binds only Immich's web and API port to localhost, and puts your domain and HTTPS in front of it.

Is Immich a good Google Photos alternative?

It is the Google Photos alternative most people land on, because it matches the parts you actually use daily — automatic phone backup, a timeline, albums and sharing, face grouping, and search by what's in the picture. The trade is that storage, updates and backups become yours to run, and there is no free tier that quietly costs you your privacy instead. If you're comparing against another Immich alternative, the differentiators are the mobile apps and the on-server machine learning.

What does Immich pricing look like?

Immich pricing for the software is nothing: it's AGPL-3.0 and the project commits to keeping features free and unpaywalled. The optional $25 single-user and $100 family lifetime keys support development and unlock no extra features. Your real cost is this server, from $59.99/month, plus disk sized to the library you're bringing — with no per-gigabyte fee that grows every year.

How much RAM does this need?

The template's enforced minimum is 6 GB RAM and 2 CPU cores, and Immich recommends 8 GB and 4 cores for a smoother experience — uploads and machine-learning work are the demanding parts. That is why this page starts at the 16 GB plan: 6 GB would put you exactly on the floor with the operating system competing for it.

How much disk will my library need?

Size it from the library you actually have, then add headroom. Upstream notes that thumbnails and transcoded video commonly add roughly 10–20% on top of the originals, and PostgreSQL should stay on local SSD-backed storage rather than a network share.

Does it include facial recognition and semantic search?

Yes. The pinned machine-learning container is deployed alongside the server and runs on the CPU. GPU acceleration is not enabled by this template. On amd64, Immich v3 machine learning needs an x86-64-v2-capable CPU.

Can I use the Immich mobile apps?

Yes. Install an official Immich mobile app and enter the public HTTPS URL xCloud shows you as the server endpoint. Grant only the photo permissions you intend to, pick your albums, enable backup, and confirm a test upload appears in the web timeline.

Does xCloud back up my photo library automatically?

Not in an application-consistent, off-server way — and you shouldn't assume otherwise for something irreplaceable. Two boundaries matter: the library volume with your originals, thumbnails and encoded video, and the PostgreSQL volume with users, albums, metadata and asset paths. A usable recovery needs both, matched to each other and copied off the server. Immich's own automatic database dumps contain no photos or videos. Follow a 3-2-1 strategy and test the restore.

Does xCloud upgrade Immich for me?

No. New installs are pinned to v3.1.0 and a catalogue update affects future installs only. Upgrading is deliberate: verify an off-server backup, read every intervening release note, keep the server and machine-learning images on the exact same version, and recreate containers without deleting or renaming volumes. Database migrations may not be reversible — the tested backup is your rollback.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. There is no lock-in — cancel any time. Hosting is billed monthly and charged for what you actually use, so when you delete the server the unused balance is refunded to your account, less up to 10% in payment-processing fees.
