Free tools / Password Sharer

Share a password securely

Paste a password, API key or login, choose how many times it can be opened and when it expires, and send the link. It is encrypted in your browser before it leaves this page.

How it works

  1. 1Paste a password, API key or login, then choose how many times it can be opened and when it expires.
  2. 2It is encrypted in your browser. The key stays in the part of the link after #, which browsers never send to a server.
  3. 3Send the link. It stops working after its last allowed open or when it expires, whichever comes first.

Frequently asked

Can xCloud read my secret?

No. Your text is encrypted in your browser before it is sent, and xCloud only ever stores the encrypted copy. The key is in the part of the link after #, which browsers do not send to servers, so it never reaches us.

What happens after the link is opened?

The link stops working after its last allowed open (1 to 5) or when it expires (1 hour, 24 hours or 7 days), whichever comes first. Whoever opens it can of course keep a copy of what they read.

Is anything kept after the link is used or deleted?

The encrypted copy is deleted. Our storage provider can keep encrypted backups for up to 30 days; those cannot be decrypted, because the key was never stored.

Can I share files?

No. The Password Sharer is for text only - passwords, API keys, logins or short notes - up to 8,192 bytes.
