The Tea Capital welcomed the WordPress community home again.

On October 2nd and 3rd, 2026, WordCamp Sylhet brought WordPress enthusiasts, developers and contributors back to the Central Auditorium of Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST) for two days of contributing, learning and connecting.

Team xCloud was proud to support WordCamp Sylhet 2026 as a Platinum Sponsor, with three speakers on the program, a booth that stayed busy from start to finish and a $5,000 Mega Giveaway that kept the energy high all day. Here is our recap of everything that made WordCamp Sylhet 2026 one to remember.

Third Time In The Tea Capital: WordCamp Sylhet Returns To SUST

WordCamp Sylhet first came to the city in 2023 and returned in 2024. In 2026 it was back for a third edition, and the organizers set a clear direction from day one: less show, more substance. The focus was on practical sessions, genuine conversations and stronger connections between attendees, speakers and sponsors.

The setting helped too. The green SUST campus in Kumargaon sits just a short ride from the tea gardens that made Sylhet famous, and it gave the WordPress community a calm and welcoming home for two full days. Day One, on October 2nd, was Contributor Day, where contributors came together to give back to the WordPress project. Day Two, on October 3rd, was Conference Day, packed with talks, panel discussions and a lively expo area from morning to evening.

Contributor Day at #WCSylhet: Around 150 Contributors Giving Back to WordPress

Contributor Day is where the WordPress project gets better, one contribution at a time. Around 150 attendees joined the contributor tables this year, and the work ranged from bug fixes in Core to brand new patterns from the Patterns Team. The energy and collaboration in the room were incredible.

Team xCloud was there to give back as well. Linkon Miyan led the Core table, helping contributors make their mark on the project and guiding fellow contributors throughout the day.

And here is the best part. You do not need to be a senior developer to contribute. Whether you code, write, design, translate or test, there is a place for you at Contributor Day. It is one of the best ways to learn how WordPress is actually built, shoulder to shoulder with the people who build it.

Three xCloud Sessions On How AI Is Changing WordPress

AI ran like a thread through the Conference Day schedule, and we were proud to have three sessions from our team on the program. Each one explored the same big question from a different angle: how AI is changing the way WordPress teams plan, build, ship and support their products.

💬 Panel: How AI Is Reshaping Modern Workflows

Our Founder M Asif Rahman joined MD Ershadur Rahman Talukder and Shahjahan Jewel on stage for a panel on AI and modern workflows. The conversation dug into how AI is changing the way teams plan, build and ship, with practical lessons from people who have spent years building WordPress products in Bangladesh.

🎤 From Plugins To Agents: Rethinking WordPress Architecture For AI

Co-Founder Nazmul Hasan Rupok walked the audience through how the building blocks of WordPress are shifting as AI agents enter the picture, and what that means for anyone who builds plugins for a living. One tip stood out for plugin developers: instead of building an MCP server from scratch, register an ability through the WordPress Abilities API so any MCP client can use it.

🎤 Customer Support, Reimagined: Doing More With AI Agents And MCP

Head of Support & Product Khan Rafin Ahmed presented ‘Customer Support, Reimagined: How AI Agents and MCP Empower Teams to Do More’. He shared practical insights into how AI agents and the Model Context Protocol (MCP) help support teams handle more, and where the future of customer support is heading.

Three sessions. Thoughtful questions. Meaningful conversations. A big thank you to everyone who joined us. Your questions and participation made every session more engaging and we loved exchanging ideas with you about the future of WordPress and AI.

Inside The xCloud Booth: A Platinum Presence Full of Conversations

As a Platinum Sponsor, Team xCloud was right in the middle of the expo area, and our booth was buzzing from the moment Conference Day began. The backdrop said it all: Next Gen Hosting Built For WordPress, AI Agents & Any Apps.

The conversations covered everything from hosting and WordPress to AI and beyond. Our users stopped by to tell us what they are building and what they want next, and new faces came to find out what xCloud is all about. Those face-to-face chats are a big reason we keep showing up at WordCamps. You simply cannot get that kind of feedback anywhere else.

Of course, it would not be an xCloud booth without a little friendly competition. Attendees took on our Fast Speed Challenge for a chance to win the Mega Giveaway. It was a fun way to break the ice, and plenty of great conversations started right there at the booth.

But we did not come to Sylhet just for the games. WordCamps are nonprofit and volunteer-run, and sponsorship is what keeps tickets affordable for students, freelancers and first-timers. Bangladesh has a passionate WordPress community, and when people meet in their own city, they grow together. That is why supporting local events like WordCamp Sylhet matters so much to us.

The $5,000 Mega Giveaway: Meet The Fast Speed Challenge Winners

The $5,000 Mega Giveaway was the talk of our booth. To enter, attendees took on the Fast Speed Challenge, a race against the clock where accuracy mattered just as much as speed.

20+ contestants made it onto the final leaderboard and the competition was tight. Two contestants finished with a perfect 100% accuracy and zero errors, and all five winners completed the challenge in under two minutes.
