What runs on it

Managed BuddyBoss Hosting For The Whole Community Stack

BuddyBoss is rarely alone on the site. Whatever else you run beside it, the server underneath is provisioned and tuned the same way.

  • BuddyBoss & BuddyPress

BuddyBoss Platform began as a BuddyPress fork, so both put the same load on a server: activity streams, profile lookups and private messages, none of it cacheable. BuddyPress hosting here gets object caching, a database you do not share, and workers to match.

  • BuddyBoss App & REST API

If your community also ships as a mobile app, that app is a second population hitting the same site over the REST API, and API requests are authenticated by definition. They get the same worker headroom and the same object cache as the browser does.

  • BuddyBoss With LearnDash

Community plus courses is the most common build and the heaviest, because course and progress lookups run on top of everything the feed already does. Size the server for both, keep Redis on, and put LMS updates through staging first.

  • Notification Email

Replies, mentions, invitations and digests only work if they arrive, and mail sent from a stock server usually does not. Point the site at a real sending service with the Mail Delivery addon and keep the scheduled jobs on system cron.

THE STACK UNDERNEATH

Every Layer A Community Needs,Tuned On xCloud

WordPress on NGINX or OpenLiteSpeed, current PHP, MySQL or MariaDB and Redis object caching on your own server, with Cloudflare in front and Ubuntu underneath.

COMMUNITY TOOLKIT

Everything A Busy Community Needs To Run

A dashboard for the everyday jobs, and SSH for the rest. Every tool below ships on every server.

  • SSH & SFTP Access

Add SSH keys, create SFTP users and lock SSH to trusted IPs, without editing a config file by hand.

  • WP-CLI From The Browser

Run WP-CLI or any command on the site or the whole server, straight from the dashboard.

  • Real System Cron

Digest emails, group summaries and cleanup jobs run on a proper schedule, not when a visitor happens by.

  • Logs & Events

NGINX access and error logs, PHP logs and a timeline of server events, in one place when a feed slows down.

  • A Database You Own

Your own tuned MySQL or MariaDB for activity, group and profile lookups, with Adminer to browse it.

  • Backups & Restore

Automatic backups to local storage, S3, Cloudflare R2 or Google Drive, and a restore in a couple of clicks.

  • PHP Worker & Memory

Raise PHP memory and limits and enable extensions, so notification polling stays off member page loads.

  • Team Access

Give moderators, developers and clients scoped roles, and choose exactly which servers each one can touch.

OPTIMISED INFRASTRUCTURE

Built For Members Who Are Always Logged In

A blog is cached once and served to everyone. A community is logged in, so the stack is built around what survives login.

  • Redis object caching

Caches the queries a page cache never touches, so feeds stay quick after login.

  • Dedicated database

Tuned MySQL or MariaDB on your own server, never shared with other tenants.

  • PHP worker headroom

Workers sized to the plan, with room for members and app traffic at once.

  • NGINX or OpenLiteSpeed

Two tuned web stacks, picked per server when you create it.

  • Cloudflare integration

DNS, SSL and CDN in front of heavy member photos and video.

  • Free SSL, auto-renewed

Certificates for every domain and staging site, renewed before they expire.

  • Firewall & IP rules

Open only the ports you need, and block abusive IPs per site.

  • Fail2Ban

Repeated failed logins on member accounts are banned automatically.

  • 7G & 8G firewall rules

Proven NGINX rule sets that block common exploit patterns.

  • Automated security updates

OS security patches applied on schedule, with an optional reboot.

  • Resize in a few clicks

Add CPU, RAM and storage when a launch or a viral thread lands, with no migration.

  • Scalable NVMe storage

Fast disk for uploads, plus object storage once media starts filling it.

  • Live resource monitoring

CPU, RAM and disk per server and per site, so you see the spike first.

  • Bring your own cloud

A server we manage, or your own at AWS, DigitalOcean, Vultr, Hetzner and more.

  • Unlimited sites

Nothing metered per member, per visit or per site.

  • Staging sites

Test platform and theme updates on a staging copy before members see them.

  • Clone sites & servers

Copy a community to another server, or clone the whole server, in a few clicks.

  • Command runner

WP-CLI and one-off commands without opening a terminal.

  • Cron & Supervisor

Scheduled jobs and always-on workers, managed from the dashboard.

  • Teams & roles

Per-server access for moderators, developers and clients.

  • 24/7 expert support

Real engineers who know WordPress, around the clock.

  • Free migration

Help moving your community, database and uploads from another host.

  • Step-by-step guides

Documentation for every feature on this page, with screenshots.

  • Alerts where you work

Server and site notifications by email, Slack, Telegram or WhatsApp.

  • An active community

xCloud users and the team swapping setups, tips and answers.

See why agencies, developers, startups, and growing businesses choose xCloud to power their projects.

xCloud works really well, I am surprised by its performance being this the release version, I have tried many paid platforms such as runcloud, cloudpages or serveravatar, as well as free platforms such as CyberPanel, CloudPanel or Hestia Control Panel and direct competitors such as SpinupWP and FlyWP. Of all those that I have tried, the platform that works best for WordPress is SpinupWP and I believe that xCloud can reach and surpass that development, its roadmap is promising. Congratulations to the xCloud team, I hope they become the leading platform in the segment, it has all the potential to achieve it!
Brian Geovanny
I've been with runcloud for the last 3 years. However, after trying xcloud for the last month, I'm switching over. They are on a roll with their setup.

I'm moving my servers to xCloud, a cloud control panel by M Asif Rahman and the WPDeveloper team. Their roadmap looks interesting and no, there are no team mates nor API limits with xCloud! #xCloud #wordpress #hosting

Trust me when I say, once people explore the potential of xCloud they gonna switch from other panels, just keep delivering the best tech, lots of love for the team 😍😍

So far my experience has been smooth like silk. I didn't imagine that configuring and managing a VPS would be so easy. As of today, I have deployed 8 sites. The support is good, and they treat users with respect, even if they ask stupid questions (myself included). For the future, I hope for greater flexibility in scheduled backups and more comprehensive and consistent documentation. I'm sure that within a few months, xCloud will become the leader in its segment. This community is amazing, and the Staff here is super helpful.

Came from cloudways then to runcloud then to xcloud. Looks like I'm staying here.

I've recently taken all of my Vultr-hosted sites and gotten rid of cPanel for them to substitute it with xCloud. I have to say, I'm really impressed with xCloud so far! The interface is definitely the standout feature for me.
Tony Lewis
I came from Cloudways and won't go back. Highly impressed with xCloud. Glad I gave them a chance.
Jared McDowell
I like xCloud better than RunCloud, but one thing I'll point out is that some years ago RunCloud was hungry for business, the support was outstanding, and the community was active and helped each other. Maybe it was sold, there was a change in management, or they stopped being hungry, but the quality of the RunCloud offering declined and it hasn't been moving forward quickly. My point is that currently the xCloud team has the edge and it is theirs to keep or lose

Dear xCloud Team, I have been using xCloud for some time now and am genuinely impressed with its capabilities and the flexibility it offers by allowing users to bring their own VPS for management. It's a fantastic service, and my experience so far has been very positive. Successful migrated 5 sites on a single server. Xcloud migration tool worked great. There were few hiccups with security plugin like MalCare but disabling the plugin prior to migration worked just fine.

Talk To Us
What is BuddyBoss hosting?

BuddyBoss hosting is managed WordPress hosting tuned for community sites rather than for brochure sites. Because every member is logged in, the page cache is bypassed on almost every request, so the stack is built around object caching, a dedicated database and enough PHP workers to keep feeds, profiles and messages fast.

What are the server requirements for BuddyBoss?

A current PHP version with generous memory, a database you are not sharing with other tenants, and object caching. xCloud provisions all of that when the site is created, so the requirements are met by the stack rather than by a checklist you work through afterwards.

How many members can a BuddyBoss site handle?

What costs you anything is members online at once, not total membership, because only they generate uncacheable requests. The ceiling comes from PHP workers and database throughput, both of which follow the size of your server, and object caching is what moves it furthest. When growth outruns the server you resize it rather than migrating.

Why is my BuddyBoss site slow when it is already cached?

Because that is a page cache, and it is bypassed for every logged-in member, which on a community site is everyone. Feed, directory and notification queries all run live instead. Object caching is the layer that survives login, and it is on by default here.

Do you migrate my existing BuddyBoss community for free?

Yes. The built-in migration brings files and database across together, and Migrate Guru works if you would rather run it from inside WordPress. Member accounts, profile fields, activity history, groups, forum threads, messages and uploads all travel with those two, so nothing is re-created by hand.

Can I run BuddyBoss and LearnDash on the same site?

Yes, and it is the most common build we see. It is also the heaviest, because course and progress lookups run on every authenticated page load on top of everything the community is already doing. Size the server for both, and put LMS plugin updates through staging first.

Does the BuddyBoss App work with xCloud hosting?

Yes. The app talks to your WordPress site over the REST API, which is just another route on the same server, so there is nothing extra to install. What matters is that app traffic is authenticated and uncacheable too, so it is a sizing question rather than a compatibility one.

Where should community photos and videos live?

Small libraries are fine on the server disk, which is fast NVMe here. Once members upload video in volume, move media to object storage and serve it through the CDN, so long, heavy requests stop competing with the feed for the same workers.
