Pay for a Package in Monthly Installments

You can now split the price of a package into monthly payments right at checkout. When a server is too small for a One-Click App, xCloud now shows you how to fix it. Git sites created through the API or MCP can also use the server’s PostgreSQL.

🔥 New Features

🆕 Split a Package Into Monthly Payments

Before, packages that offer installments could only be bought at the full price on the checkout page. Now you can pick Pay in installments, choose the number of months and pay only the first month today.

Who it’s for: Anyone buying a package that offers installments.

  • On the package checkout page, the Payment option section shows Pay full amount and Pay in installments. It only appears for packages that offer installments.
  • Pick Number of months. The summary shows the Monthly payment and You pay now for the first month.
  • Pay the first month in the payment popup. You can use a saved card or add a new one there.
  • Each later month is charged to your card only after the first month is paid. If you close the popup without paying, nothing is charged.
  • Coupons cannot be combined with installments. To use a coupon, choose Pay full amount.

🆕 A Way Forward When Your Server Is Too Small for an App

Before, a One-Click App that needed more memory, CPU or disk only said what was missing, with nothing to click. Now the app card and the install page show what you can do next.

Who it’s for: Anyone installing One-Click Apps on a smaller server.

  • Resize or upgrade this server opens the server’s resize options when the server can be resized and you can manage it.
  • Ask a team administrator to resize this server. shows when your team role does not allow resizing.
  • Get a larger server opens the new server page with the app already picked, when the server cannot be resized. xCloud finishes the install once the new server is ready.
  • Install on a larger server. shows when the server cannot be resized and your role does not allow adding servers.
  • The same links show in the compact catalog view.

🧑‍💻 For Developers: Public API and MCP

  • PostgreSQL Git sites: set site_database_engine to postgresql on servers.sites.git.create or servers.sites.git.auto to create a Git site on the server’s managed PostgreSQL. Before, the field was ignored and the site had no database. The server needs managed PostgreSQL ready on Nginx; otherwise you get a 422 that points to servers.postgresql.show and servers.postgresql.install. A dry run shows the database as PostgreSQL. How to Deploy Git Projects with the xCloud Public API and MCP
  • Service start errors: when servers.services.enable or servers.services.restart cannot start a service, the error now includes a short hint. Tokens that can read server logs also get the last lines of the service’s status and logs, so you can see why it failed.
  • App recipes (beta): an empty KEY= line in .env.example is now treated as optional, so Python and Ruby apps with settings like BASE_PATH= deploy without a fix. An empty database password is still refused before the deploy starts.

🐞 Bug Fixes

  • Billing
    • Retrying a failed invoice payment, for example with another card, now works. Before, a retry could fail with a message that your payment could not be processed.
    • White-label invoice PDFs now show your logo, or your brand name if no logo is uploaded, instead of the word “Logo”.
  • One-Click Apps
    • Buying a server for a One-Click App now only offers plans with at least the memory the app needs. Before, a plan with less memory than the app needs could be offered.
    • New Supabase installs no longer fail with one service not running.
  • SSL
    • When automatic renewal has stopped because a certificate expired more than 30 days ago, the SSL/HTTPS page now says so and shows the DNS and renewal steps to take.
  • Databases
    • When you edit a database user and click Update with every database unchecked, you now see Please select at least one database.
