What Can Stop a Free Certificate?
DNS must point to the server
Let's Encrypt checks the domain. Wrong or new DNS records make it fail.
Cloudflare proxy
Turn the proxy off while the free certificate is issued, or use a Cloudflare certificate.
Failed renewals retry
If a renewal fails, xCloud tries again automatically in 12 hours.

Is the SSL certificate really free?
Yes. xCloud issues certificates from Let's Encrypt, a free certificate authority, and renews them for you. There is no charge for SSL on any plan.
Does xCloud renew Let's Encrypt certificates automatically?
Yes. xCloud checks for certificates that need renewal twice a day and renews them, so you do not have to track the 90-day expiry.
Can I use my own SSL certificate?
Yes. On SSL/HTTPS, choose Provide your own certificate & manage it yourself, then paste the certificate and private key. A Cloudflare origin certificate works this way too.
Is a free SSL certificate good enough for WooCommerce?
For encryption, yes. A Let's Encrypt certificate encrypts traffic the same way a paid one does. Paid certificates mainly add company checks or a warranty, not stronger encryption.
My free SSL failed. What should I check?
Check that the domain's DNS points to your server and has finished updating, and that the Cloudflare proxy is off. Then turn HTTPS off and on again to retry.
