Deploy FreeLLMAPI hosting and run a self-hosted LLM API gateway that puts the free-tier API keys you already hold behind one OpenAI-compatible endpoint, with automatic routing and failover between them. xCloud starts the pinned image with an embedded SQLite store, creates the dashboard account from the email you enter, and publishes it over HTTPS. It is not a free model service: you supply every provider key.
FreeLLMAPI is an OpenAI-compatible gateway released under the MIT licence that aggregates the free tiers of many LLM providers, plus custom OpenAI-compatible endpoints, behind a single /v1 API. Upstream lists encrypted provider keys, a router with six strategies and automatic failover with cooldowns and key rotation, per-key rate tracking, Anthropic Messages and Gemini-style surfaces, an MCP server and an admin dashboard with analytics. It is a gateway, not a model provider, and upstream states real trade-offs: no frontier models, variable latency and no SLA. Self-hosted FreeLLMAPI is the option for people who would otherwise juggle provider SDKs or use a hosted router such as OpenRouter.
On xCloud the template runs ghcr.io/tashfeenahmed/freellmapi v0.13.10, pinned by digest, as one container with a SQLite database on the freellmapi_data volume. The first dashboard account is created from the admin email and a generated password, and a generated encryption key protects stored provider keys. Upstream describes it as a single-user gateway for personal experimentation.
Self-hosting an LLM gateway normally means a server, an encrypted key store, a domain and a certificate before a single request can route. This is the same result without assembling any of it.
Step 01
Choose FreeLLMAPI from the xCloud OneClick catalog, select a domain, and enter the admin email. xCloud generates the admin password and encryption key.
Step 02
One click. We bring up the pinned FreeLLMAPI 0.13.10 image with its embedded SQLite store, ready in about 30 seconds, and publish it over HTTPS on your domain.
Step 03
Save the admin password and encryption key, sign in, change the password, add your own free-tier provider keys, then copy the unified API key and point your clients at https://<your-domain>/v1.
FreeLLMAPI runs in full here — its key pooling, routing and failover, on infrastructure you control.
Point any OpenAI-compatible client at one /v1 URL instead of juggling many provider endpoints — FreeLLMAPI routes across the free-tier keys you add, it does not supply keys of its own.
When one provider times out or rejects a key, the router moves to another automatically.
Provider keys are AES-256-GCM encrypted in SQLite and decrypted in memory per request; your apps only see the unified token.
The /v1 endpoint requires a unified API key, with per-IP rate limits applied.
Custom provider URLs pointing at loopback or private addresses are blocked by default.
Provider configuration, keys and the unified API key survive an xCloud Restart.
Managed hosting for FreeLLMAPI, so the parts that keep it online are not your problem.
Configure an editor or CLI once against your gateway and let the router choose among the provider keys you hold.
Rotate between keys and models automatically when one hits a rate limit, with per-key counters keeping routing under each cap.
Call every pooled provider through one OpenAI-compatible format, and point Anthropic Messages or Gemini-style clients at the same gateway through its compatible surfaces.
Store keys once, encrypted in SQLite on your own server, and give your apps a single unified token instead of each provider's key.

xCloud works really well, I am surprised by its performance being this the release version, I have tried many paid platforms such as runcloud, cloudpages or serveravatar, as well as free platforms such as CyberPanel, CloudPanel or Hestia Control Panel and direct competitors such as SpinupWP and FlyWP. Of all those that I have tried, the platform that works best for WordPress is SpinupWP and I believe that xCloud can reach and surpass that development, its roadmap is promising. Congratulations to the xCloud team, I hope they become the leading platform in the segment, it has all the potential to achieve it!
Brian GeovannyI've been with runcloud for the last 3 years. However, after trying xcloud for the last month, I'm switching over. They are on a roll with their setup.
Kevin PinedaI'm moving my servers to xCloud, a cloud control panel by M Asif Rahman and the WPDeveloper team. Their roadmap looks interesting and no, there are no team mates nor API limits with xCloud! #xCloud #wordpress #hosting
Leo KooHow Cloud Nine Web Elevated Client Experience While Streamlining Hosting Operations using xCloud
Ed EllinghamxCloud is like having an expert server team on call — without the big agency costs. It's given me back my time and given my clients peace of mind. Highly recommended for freelancers and small teams who want reliable performance and security.
Dumitru ButucelxCloud isn't just a solution. It's like one of that friend who got your back when you screw things up pretty bad.
Waqar AhmedTrust me when I say, once people explore the potential of xCloud they gonna switch from other panels, just keep delivering the best tech, lots of love for the team 😍😍
Rahul SinghSo far my experience has been smooth like silk. I didn't imagine that configuring and managing a VPS would be so easy. As of today, I have deployed 8 sites. The support is good, and they treat users with respect, even if they ask stupid questions (myself included). For the future, I hope for greater flexibility in scheduled backups and more comprehensive and consistent documentation. I'm sure that within a few months, xCloud will become the leader in its segment. This community is amazing, and the Staff here is super helpful.
Massimo VillaCame from cloudways then to runcloud then to xcloud. Looks like I'm staying here.
Gerson ElI've recently taken all of my Vultr-hosted sites and gotten rid of cPanel for them to substitute it with xCloud. I have to say, I'm really impressed with xCloud so far! The interface is definitely the standout feature for me.
Tony LewisI came from Cloudways and won't go back. Highly impressed with xCloud. Glad I gave them a chance.
Jared McDowellI like xCloud better than RunCloud, but one thing I'll point out is that some years ago RunCloud was hungry for business, the support was outstanding, and the community was active and helped each other. Maybe it was sold, there was a change in management, or they stopped being hungry, but the quality of the RunCloud offering declined and it hasn't been moving forward quickly. My point is that currently the xCloud team has the edge and it is theirs to keep or lose
David McCanHow Kevin Heinrichs Cut Hosting Costs by 84% While Running WooCommerce & Node.js Sites Efficiently
Kevin HeinrichsI had 150 sites on cloudways and am in the process of moving them to xcloud. Much faster and better priced.
Dan SpinozaDear xCloud Team, I have been using xCloud for some time now and am genuinely impressed with its capabilities and the flexibility it offers by allowing users to bring their own VPS for management. It's a fantastic service, and my experience so far has been very positive. Successful migrated 5 sites on a single server. Xcloud migration tool worked great. There were few hiccups with security plugin like MalCare but disabling the plugin prior to migration worked just fine.
Rahil MaknojiaCame from runcloud. Tried xcloud and never came back.

FreeLLMAPI is used to give your tools one OpenAI-compatible address for several LLM providers. You add the free-tier keys you hold, and its router picks a model for each request, falls over to the next on rate limits or errors, and tracks per-key limits. Your clients then use a single unified API key.
The software is open source under the MIT licence, so the gateway has no licence fee. Upstream also sells a paid live-catalog tier, which this template does not include. xCloud charges for the dedicated Cloud VPS and the deployment. The provider free tiers you pool remain subject to each provider's own terms.
Yes. For FreeLLMAPI Docker hosting the template runs the ghcr.io/tashfeenahmed/freellmapi v0.13.10 image, pinned by digest, as one container with a single named volume and HTTPS on your domain. The upstream auto-update sidecar is left out because it needs the Docker socket, and the in-dashboard update checker is off.
The manifest floor for FreeLLMAPI is 192 MB of RAM, one core and 2 GB of disk, because it is a single Node process with SQLite. The 6 GB plan here is far more than it needs. The proxy accepts request bodies up to 30 MB, above the app's own 25 MB JSON and audio ceilings.
No. It is not an LLM provider and xCloud supplies no model. It pools the free-tier keys you obtain yourself from third-party providers, and each provider's terms govern that use. Upstream warns of trade-offs: no frontier models, variable latency, no SLA, and quality that dips when daily caps are reached.
Point an OpenAI-compatible client at your domain's /v1 address and use the unified API key shown in the dashboard; it is generated on first start and is not on the credentials panel. Upstream also lists Anthropic Messages, Gemini-style and Ollama-style surfaces and an MCP endpoint on the same address.
Open your HTTPS address and sign in to the dashboard with the admin email you entered and the generated password on your credentials panel. The account is created at startup, so no setup code is needed. Change the password inside the dashboard, because editing the environment value later has no effect.
Back up the freellmapi_data volume as one unit, together with a separate copy of the ENCRYPTION_KEY. The volume holds the SQLite database and its write-ahead files, and the stored provider keys cannot be decrypted without the key. Keep copies off-server and test a restore before you rely on them.
Version v0.13.10 is fixed by digest, so a new catalog entry is not applied to an install in use. Back up the volume and the encryption key, read the upstream release notes, and select a later template version. Never change ENCRYPTION_KEY, or every stored provider key becomes unreadable and you must re-enter them.
Upstream positions it as a single-user gateway for personal experimentation, so do not treat it as a multi-tenant or production API gateway. The template blocks custom provider URLs that point at loopback or private addresses by default, and the dashboard sign-in page is visible to anyone who can reach your domain.
Yes. FreeLLMAPI cloud use gives the container a dedicated Cloud VPS with a domain and certificate in front. A server from another provider can be connected as self-managed. It is usually ready within about thirty seconds of starting.
Yes. There is no lock-in — cancel any time. Hosting is billed monthly and charged for what you actually use, so when you delete the server the unused balance is refunded to your account, less up to 10% in payment-processing fees.
Connect your first server in minutes. No plan you have to grow into.
