What is TaskingAI?

TaskingAI is an open-source platform for building LLM-powered agents and assistants. It has a web console for configuring model providers, assistants, retrieval collections and tools, and a REST API for using them from your own applications.

This template runs the official TaskingAI v0.3.0 stack: the console, two instances of the backend server (one for the console's API, one for the public REST API), the inference and plugin services, PostgreSQL with pgvector and a Redis cache, behind an nginx router.

From Sign-Up to a Live Agent Console In Just 3 Easy Steps

A TaskingAI stack normally means a console, several backend services, a vector-capable database, a cache, a router, generated secrets, a domain and a certificate before the first assistant. This is the same result without assembling any of it.

  1. Step 01

Create your xCloud account and pick TaskingAI from the OneClick catalog. Choose your domain and target server — there are no extra fields to fill in.

  2. Step 02

    We Deploy It For You

One click. We bring up the official TaskingAI console, two backend instances, inference and plugin services, a private PostgreSQL database with pgvector and a password-protected Redis cache behind an nginx router, mount the taskingai_db, taskingai_data and taskingai_redis volumes, generate the admin password and keys, and publish it over HTTPS on your domain.

  3. Step 03

    Add A Model And Build

Allow two to three minutes for the first start, then sign in as admin with the password on the credentials card. Add a model provider and its API key under Models, create an assistant, and create API keys to call the REST API at /v1 on your domain.

Everything TaskingAI Does, On Your Own Server

TaskingAI runs in full here: the console, the REST API and the services behind them, on a server and database you own.

  • A Console For Assistants

Configure model providers, assistants, retrieval collections and tools from one web console.

  • A REST API At /v1

Use your assistants from your own applications through the public REST API, authenticated with API keys you create in the console.

  • Retrieval Collections

Store records for retrieval in PostgreSQL with pgvector, which holds the data and the retrieval embeddings.

  • Tool Plugins

A dedicated plugin service runs the tools your assistants can call.

  • Provider Keys Stored Encrypted

Model provider keys are encrypted in the database with a generated AES key, so upstream's public default keys are never used.

  • Streaming Kept Unbuffered

The nginx router sends streaming responses through unbuffered, so assistant replies arrive as they are generated.

What You Can Do With TaskingAI

  • Private assistants over your own data

Build assistants backed by retrieval collections stored in your own PostgreSQL database instead of a hosted service.

  • One place for model provider keys

Keep provider API keys encrypted on a server you control and let your applications call assistants through your own REST API.

  • Agents that call tools

Give assistants tools through the plugin service and try them in the console before wiring them into a product.

  • Prototyping LLM features

Stand up a console and an API on your own domain to test assistants and retrieval before committing to a design.

See why agencies, developers, startups, and growing businesses choose xCloud to power their projects.

xCloud works really well, I am surprised by its performance being this the release version, I have tried many paid platforms such as runcloud, cloudpages or serveravatar, as well as free platforms such as CyberPanel, CloudPanel or Hestia Control Panel and direct competitors such as SpinupWP and FlyWP. Of all those that I have tried, the platform that works best for WordPress is SpinupWP and I believe that xCloud can reach and surpass that development, its roadmap is promising. Congratulations to the xCloud team, I hope they become the leading platform in the segment, it has all the potential to achieve it!
Brian Geovanny
I've been with runcloud for the last 3 years. However, after trying xcloud for the last month, I'm switching over. They are on a roll with their setup.
Kevin Pineda
I'm moving my servers to xCloud, a cloud control panel by M Asif Rahman and the WPDeveloper team. Their roadmap looks interesting and no, there are no team mates nor API limits with xCloud! #xCloud #wordpress #hosting

xCloud is like having an expert server team on call — without the big agency costs. It's given me back my time and given my clients peace of mind. Highly recommended for freelancers and small teams who want reliable performance and security.

xCloud isn't just a solution. It's like one of that friend who got your back when you screw things up pretty bad.

Trust me when I say, once people explore the potential of xCloud they gonna switch from other panels, just keep delivering the best tech, lots of love for the team 😍😍

So far my experience has been smooth like silk. I didn't imagine that configuring and managing a VPS would be so easy. As of today, I have deployed 8 sites. The support is good, and they treat users with respect, even if they ask stupid questions (myself included). For the future, I hope for greater flexibility in scheduled backups and more comprehensive and consistent documentation. I'm sure that within a few months, xCloud will become the leader in its segment. This community is amazing, and the Staff here is super helpful.

Came from cloudways then to runcloud then to xcloud. Looks like I'm staying here.
Gerson El
I've recently taken all of my Vultr-hosted sites and gotten rid of cPanel for them to substitute it with xCloud. I have to say, I'm really impressed with xCloud so far! The interface is definitely the standout feature for me.
Tony Lewis
I came from Cloudways and won't go back. Highly impressed with xCloud. Glad I gave them a chance.
Jared McDowell
I like xCloud better than RunCloud, but one thing I'll point out is that some years ago RunCloud was hungry for business, the support was outstanding, and the community was active and helped each other. Maybe it was sold, there was a change in management, or they stopped being hungry, but the quality of the RunCloud offering declined and it hasn't been moving forward quickly. My point is that currently the xCloud team has the edge and it is theirs to keep or lose

Dear xCloud Team, I have been using xCloud for some time now and am genuinely impressed with its capabilities and the flexibility it offers by allowing users to bring their own VPS for management. It's a fantastic service, and my experience so far has been very positive. Successful migrated 5 sites on a single server. Xcloud migration tool worked great. There were few hiccups with security plugin like MalCare but disabling the plugin prior to migration worked just fine.

Frequently Asked Questions

Feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns you may have.

How do I sign in?

Open your HTTPS domain and sign in as admin with the password on the credentials card. There is no signup page; the admin account is the only login.

How long does the first start take?

Allow two to three minutes. The first start runs database migrations and syncs the model and plugin catalogues before the console answers.

What runs alongside TaskingAI?

The console, two backend server instances, inference and plugin services, PostgreSQL with pgvector, a password-protected Redis cache and an nginx router. Only the router is published; every other service is internal.

Do I need my own model provider account?

Yes. Add a provider and its API key under Models in the console. Usage is billed by that provider to your account, not by xCloud.

Who can use my stored provider keys?

Anyone who signs in as admin can use them and read your assistants and data, so keep the admin password private. The REST API requires an API key you create in the console.

Can I add a gate in front of the console?

Yes, by configuring Basic Auth at your reverse proxy. The template does not enable it.

What should I back up?

The taskingai_db volume (PostgreSQL data) and the taskingai_data volume (uploaded files and images), together, and keep the AES_ENCRYPTION_KEY value with the backup — without it the stored provider keys cannot be decrypted. The taskingai_redis volume is cache data and is not required for correctness.

Can I change the admin password in the environment?

No. The admin username and password are read only on the first start, when the account is created. Editing DEFAULT_ADMIN_PASSWORD later does not change the login. Never change AES_ENCRYPTION_KEY after install either, or stored provider keys become unreadable.

What happens if I change the domain?

HOST_URL follows the site domain, but file and icon links are stored when they are created, so links created earlier keep the old domain. This template serves one domain only.

How large can uploads be?

The app accepts files up to 15 MB for retrieval records and 5 MB for message images, and the router allows request bodies up to 20 MB.

Does xCloud automatically back up or update TaskingAI?

No. The template pins TaskingAI v0.3.0 images by immutable digest; new installations use the pinned release, existing sites are not automatically upgraded. Back up first, read the upstream release notes, then bump the tags and digests together on your own schedule. Server-level backups and snapshots are available on every Cloud VPS.

What are the server requirements, and why does this page sell 6 GB?

The template's baseline asks for 2 CPU cores, 1024 MB of RAM and 10 GB of disk; the idle stack measured about 670 MB across eight containers, four of them Python services. This page sells the 6 GB tier as the entry rung, with real headroom above that baseline.

Is xCloud officially partnered with TaskingAI?

No. No official partnership or endorsement between xCloud and the TaskingAI project has been verified. This is a deployment and server-management option for the open-source TaskingAI project.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. There is no lock-in — cancel any time. Hosting is billed monthly and charged for what you actually use, so when you delete the server the unused balance is refunded to your account, less up to 10% in payment-processing fees.
