What is Dograh?

Dograh is an open-source, self-hostable platform for building voice agents that take phone and browser calls. You design a conversation in a visual workflow builder, test it in the browser, and connect the speech-to-text, language model, text-to-speech and telephony providers you choose.

Upstream describes it as an open-source alternative to Vapi and Retell, released under the BSD 2-Clause license. This template deploys version 1.49.0 on your own server, so your agents, workflows, call history and recordings stay on infrastructure you control.

From Sign-Up to a Live Voice Agent Platform In Just 3 Easy Steps

A Dograh stack normally means an API, a dashboard, a database, a queue, object storage, a TURN relay, generated secrets, three domains and certificates before the first agent. This is the same result without assembling any of it.

  1. Step 01

Create your xCloud account and pick Dograh from the OneClick catalog. Choose your domain and target server — there are no extra fields to fill in, because xCloud generates the secrets.

  2. Step 02

    We Deploy It For You

One click. We bring up the Dograh API and dashboard with PostgreSQL (pgvector) and Redis kept private, MinIO storage and a coturn TURN relay, all pinned by immutable digest. The postgres_data, redis_data and minio_data volumes are mounted and HTTPS is published on the dashboard, API and storage domains. The first start takes about three minutes while the database migrations run.

  3. Step 03

Create Your Account And First Agent

Open your HTTPS Dograh URL and register your account. Then set ENABLE_SIGNUP=false in the Environment editor and redeploy to close registration, connect your speech, language and telephony providers, and build your first voice agent.

Everything Dograh Does, On Your Own Server

Dograh runs in full here: a voice agent builder, call history and recording storage on your own domains, backed by databases you own.

  • Visual Workflow Builder

Design inbound and outbound voice agents with start nodes, agent nodes, global instructions, tools, transitions and end-call outcomes.

  • Test In The Browser

Talk to an agent with Test Audio or iterate faster in text with Test Chat before it takes a real call.

  • Bring Your Own Providers

Connect your own LLM, text-to-speech, speech-to-text and telephony providers, including Twilio, Vonage, Telnyx, Plivo, Vobiz, Cloudonix and Asterisk ARI.

  • Recordings And Transcripts

Review recordings and transcripts of every call. Recordings are kept in bundled MinIO storage, and uploads and downloads use signed URLs only.

  • Browser Calls Via TURN

A coturn relay runs on your server for browser voice calls, using one UDP port plus ten consecutive UDP media ports that you open in your own firewall.

  • Private PostgreSQL And Redis

PostgreSQL (pgvector) and Redis are reachable only inside the install's private network, with no published port.

See why agencies, developers, startups, and growing businesses choose xCloud to power their projects.

xCloud works really well, I am surprised by its performance being this the release version, I have tried many paid platforms such as runcloud, cloudpages or serveravatar, as well as free platforms such as CyberPanel, CloudPanel or Hestia Control Panel and direct competitors such as SpinupWP and FlyWP. Of all those that I have tried, the platform that works best for WordPress is SpinupWP and I believe that xCloud can reach and surpass that development, its roadmap is promising. Congratulations to the xCloud team, I hope they become the leading platform in the segment, it has all the potential to achieve it!
Brian Geovanny
I've been with runcloud for the last 3 years. However, after trying xcloud for the last month, I'm switching over. They are on a roll with their setup.
Kevin Pineda
I'm moving my servers to xCloud, a cloud control panel by M Asif Rahman and the WPDeveloper team. Their roadmap looks interesting and no, there are no team mates nor API limits with xCloud! #xCloud #wordpress #hosting

xCloud is like having an expert server team on call — without the big agency costs. It's given me back my time and given my clients peace of mind. Highly recommended for freelancers and small teams who want reliable performance and security.

xCloud isn't just a solution. It's like one of that friend who got your back when you screw things up pretty bad.

Trust me when I say, once people explore the potential of xCloud they gonna switch from other panels, just keep delivering the best tech, lots of love for the team 😍😍

So far my experience has been smooth like silk. I didn't imagine that configuring and managing a VPS would be so easy. As of today, I have deployed 8 sites. The support is good, and they treat users with respect, even if they ask stupid questions (myself included). For the future, I hope for greater flexibility in scheduled backups and more comprehensive and consistent documentation. I'm sure that within a few months, xCloud will become the leader in its segment. This community is amazing, and the Staff here is super helpful.

Came from cloudways then to runcloud then to xcloud. Looks like I'm staying here.
Gerson El
I've recently taken all of my Vultr-hosted sites and gotten rid of cPanel for them to substitute it with xCloud. I have to say, I'm really impressed with xCloud so far! The interface is definitely the standout feature for me.
Tony Lewis
I came from Cloudways and won't go back. Highly impressed with xCloud. Glad I gave them a chance.
Jared McDowell
I like xCloud better than RunCloud, but one thing I'll point out is that some years ago RunCloud was hungry for business, the support was outstanding, and the community was active and helped each other. Maybe it was sold, there was a change in management, or they stopped being hungry, but the quality of the RunCloud offering declined and it hasn't been moving forward quickly. My point is that currently the xCloud team has the edge and it is theirs to keep or lose

Dear xCloud Team, I have been using xCloud for some time now and am genuinely impressed with its capabilities and the flexibility it offers by allowing users to bring their own VPS for management. It's a fantastic service, and my experience so far has been very positive. Successful migrated 5 sites on a single server. Xcloud migration tool worked great. There were few hiccups with security plugin like MalCare but disabling the plugin prior to migration worked just fine.

Frequently Asked Questions

Feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns you may have.

How do I sign in?

Dograh uses its own sign-up. Open the dashboard and create your account: every registration creates its own organization, and the first account is a normal organization, not a special administrator. Once you have registered, set ENABLE_SIGNUP=false in the Environment editor and redeploy to close registration.

What runs alongside Dograh?

The Dograh API and dashboard, PostgreSQL with pgvector, Redis, MinIO object storage and a coturn TURN relay. PostgreSQL and Redis are private and not exposed to the internet.

Why does Dograh use three domains?

One per service: the dashboard, the API and WebSocket address that browsers and telephony providers call, and the object storage address that browsers use for recordings and uploads. Each is served over HTTPS. Keep the API domain stable once telephony providers are configured, because they store its webhook addresses.

Do I need to open ports?

Only for browser voice calls: one TURN UDP port and ten consecutive UDP media ports, which you open in your own firewall because the platform does not open firewall ports for you. Each browser call uses two relay ports, so ten ports allow about five calls at once. Telephony providers use the API domain over HTTPS and need none of them.

Which providers can I connect?

You bring your own speech-to-text, language model, text-to-speech and telephony providers. Upstream lists built-in telephony integrations for Twilio, Vonage, Telnyx, Plivo, Vobiz, Cloudonix and Asterisk ARI.

Is anything sent to the Dograh maintainers?

Yes. Dograh sends anonymous usage events to its maintainers and contacts services.dograh.com when an account is created. Set ENABLE_TELEMETRY=false in the Environment editor to stop the usage events.

Is the API open to other websites?

The API answers cross-origin browser requests from any site, but never with cookies: this is upstream's open-source mode, and every call needs the bearer token issued at sign-in.

What should I back up?

The postgres_data volume (organizations, agents, workflows and call history) and the minio_data volume (recordings and uploads), plus the stable .env values.

What survives a restart?

Organizations, agents, workflows, call history and stored recordings are kept on the postgres_data and minio_data volumes. In QA, the account, a workflow and a stored object were still present after the containers were restarted.

Does xCloud automatically back up or update Dograh?

No. The template pins Dograh 1.49.0 by immutable digest; new installations use the pinned release, existing sites are not automatically upgraded. Back up first, read the upstream release notes, then bump the readable tags and digests together on your own schedule. Server-level backups and snapshots are available on every Cloud VPS.

What are the server requirements, and why does this page sell 16 GB?

The template's baseline asks for 2 CPU cores, 4096 MB of RAM and 20 GB of disk; measured idle use in QA was about 1.1 GB. A 4 GB minimum leaves little headroom on the 6 GB tier once the OS is running, so this page sells the 16 GB tier as the entry rung.

Is xCloud officially partnered with Dograh?

No. No official partnership or endorsement between xCloud and the Dograh project has been verified. This is a deployment and server-management option for the open-source Dograh project.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. There is no lock-in — cancel any time. Hosting is billed monthly and charged for what you actually use, so when you delete the server the unused balance is refunded to your account, less up to 10% in payment-processing fees.
