Firecrawl Hosting Live In 5 Minutes

Deploy Firecrawl hosting and run a self-hosted web scraping API on your own server. xCloud brings up the pinned Firecrawl 2.11.1 image with its headless Chromium service, a private Postgres queue database, Redis and RabbitMQ, generates the API key, mounts persistent volumes and publishes one HTTPS endpoint that rejects every request without the key — ready for your RAG and agent pipelines in minutes.

What is Firecrawl?

Firecrawl is an open-source API to search, scrape and interact with the web, turning pages into clean Markdown or structured data for AI agents. Give it a URL and it returns Markdown, HTML, screenshots or structured JSON; give it a site and it crawls every URL. Run on your own server it is a self-hosted Firecrawl, the alternative to a hosted scraping platform such as Apify, and it is licensed under AGPL-3.0.

This template runs the 2.11.1 self-hosted API with a Playwright headless-browser service, a private Postgres queue database, Redis and RabbitMQ behind one HTTPS endpoint protected by a generated API key. Upstream also offers Firecrawl as a hosted service; its Fire-engine anti-bot scraping and account credits are not part of the self-hosted image.

From Sign-Up to a Live Scraping API In Just 3 Easy Steps

A self-hosted Firecrawl normally means an API container, a browser service, a queue database, Redis, RabbitMQ, something to check API keys, a domain and a certificate before the first scrape. This is the same result without assembling any of it.

  1. Step 01

Create your xCloud account and pick Firecrawl from the OneClick catalog. Choose your domain and target server — there are no extra fields to fill in.

  2. Step 02

    We Deploy It For You

One click. We bring up the Firecrawl 2.11.1 API with its Playwright browser service, a private Postgres queue database, Redis and RabbitMQ, none of them published to the internet. A Caddy gateway checks the API key, the firecrawl_postgres and firecrawl_redis volumes are mounted, the credentials are generated, and everything is published over HTTPS on your domain.

  3. Step 03

    Save The Key And Scrape

Copy the API key from the installation credentials, allow 2 to 4 minutes for the first start, then check /v0/health/liveness. Send POST /v2/scrape with the header Authorization: Bearer followed by your key and a JSON body such as {"url": "https://example.com"}.

Everything Firecrawl Does, On Your Own Server

The Firecrawl API runs here behind a key check, with the browser and queue services it needs already wired up.

  • Scrape A URL To Markdown

POST /v2/scrape turns a page into clean Markdown, HTML, links or a screenshot, ready to hand to an LLM.

  • Crawl A Whole Site

POST /v2/crawl with a page limit starts a crawl job, and GET /v2/crawl/<id> reads the results back by crawl id.

  • JavaScript Pages Rendered

A bundled headless Chromium service renders JavaScript-heavy pages before they are converted.

  • Every Request Needs The Key

Firecrawl has no user system, so a gateway answers 401 to any request without Authorization: Bearer and your generated API key. Your endpoint is not an open scraping proxy.

  • Queue Board Behind A Secret Path

A Bull queue dashboard sits under a secret /admin path whose key is generated at install, so you can watch and clean jobs.

  • Jobs Survive A Restart

Crawl jobs and results live in the firecrawl_postgres volume; in QA a finished crawl was still readable after all containers were restarted.

Everything You Need To Run Your Scraping API 24/7

Managed hosting for Firecrawl, so the parts that keep it online are not your problem.

  • Firecrawl 2.11.1 deployed instantly
  • Upstream image pinned by digest
  • API key and passwords generated for you
  • Kept behind xCloud nginx
  • Free SSL certificate
  • Server backups and snapshots
  • Server security updates included
  • 30+ server locations
  • Unused balance refunded

What You Can Do With Firecrawl

  • Build a web crawler for LLM pipelines

Turn documentation sites and web pages into clean Markdown for your retrieval index, on a server you control rather than per-page cloud credits.

  • Give agents a web tool

Point your agent, or an MCP client, at your own domain so page fetching runs on infrastructure you control, behind a key you can rotate.

  • Crawl a site into a dataset

Start a crawl with a page limit, then read every page back by crawl id when it completes, with queue state kept on your own volumes.

  • Read JavaScript-heavy pages

Render pages that only exist after scripts run, through the bundled Playwright headless Chromium service that sits next to the API.

Firecrawl vs Alternatives

Apify
A hosted platform for running scrapers and actors; Firecrawl is a single scrape-and-crawl API you run yourself, returning Markdown, with the queue database on your own volumes.
Scrapy
A Python framework for writing your own spiders; Firecrawl is a ready API that takes a URL and returns Markdown or JSON, so there is no crawler code to write.
Crawl4AI
Another open-source crawler that turns pages into Markdown for LLMs, with a REST API. xCloud has a OneClick template for it too.
Browserless
Headless Chromium as a service you drive with Puppeteer or Playwright, rather than a Markdown-returning scrape and crawl API.

See why agencies, developers, startups, and growing businesses choose xCloud to power their projects.

xCloud works really well, I am surprised by its performance being this the release version, I have tried many paid platforms such as runcloud, cloudpages or serveravatar, as well as free platforms such as CyberPanel, CloudPanel or Hestia Control Panel and direct competitors such as SpinupWP and FlyWP. Of all those that I have tried, the platform that works best for WordPress is SpinupWP and I believe that xCloud can reach and surpass that development, its roadmap is promising. Congratulations to the xCloud team, I hope they become the leading platform in the segment, it has all the potential to achieve it!
Brian Geovanny
I've been with runcloud for the last 3 years. However, after trying xcloud for the last month, I'm switching over. They are on a roll with their setup.
Kevin Pineda
I'm moving my servers to xCloud, a cloud control panel by M Asif Rahman and the WPDeveloper team. Their roadmap looks interesting and no, there are no team mates nor API limits with xCloud! #xCloud #wordpress #hosting

xCloud is like having an expert server team on call — without the big agency costs. It's given me back my time and given my clients peace of mind. Highly recommended for freelancers and small teams who want reliable performance and security.

xCloud isn't just a solution. It's like one of that friend who got your back when you screw things up pretty bad.

Trust me when I say, once people explore the potential of xCloud they gonna switch from other panels, just keep delivering the best tech, lots of love for the team 😍😍

So far my experience has been smooth like silk. I didn't imagine that configuring and managing a VPS would be so easy. As of today, I have deployed 8 sites. The support is good, and they treat users with respect, even if they ask stupid questions (myself included). For the future, I hope for greater flexibility in scheduled backups and more comprehensive and consistent documentation. I'm sure that within a few months, xCloud will become the leader in its segment. This community is amazing, and the Staff here is super helpful.
Massimo Villa
Came from cloudways then to runcloud then to xcloud. Looks like I'm staying here.
Gerson El
I've recently taken all of my Vultr-hosted sites and gotten rid of cPanel for them to substitute it with xCloud. I have to say, I'm really impressed with xCloud so far! The interface is definitely the standout feature for me.
Tony Lewis
I came from Cloudways and won't go back. Highly impressed with xCloud. Glad I gave them a chance.
Jared McDowell
I like xCloud better than RunCloud, but one thing I'll point out is that some years ago RunCloud was hungry for business, the support was outstanding, and the community was active and helped each other. Maybe it was sold, there was a change in management, or they stopped being hungry, but the quality of the RunCloud offering declined and it hasn't been moving forward quickly. My point is that currently the xCloud team has the edge and it is theirs to keep or lose

Dear xCloud Team, I have been using xCloud for some time now and am genuinely impressed with its capabilities and the flexibility it offers by allowing users to bring their own VPS for management. It's a fantastic service, and my experience so far has been very positive. Successful migrated 5 sites on a single server. Xcloud migration tool worked great. There were few hiccups with security plugin like MalCare but disabling the plugin prior to migration worked just fine.

Frequently Asked Questions

Feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns you may have.

Can I self-host Firecrawl?

Yes, and this template is Firecrawl Docker hosting without the setup: the 2.11.1 image pinned by digest, a Playwright browser, Postgres, Redis and RabbitMQ, a key-checking gateway and two named volumes. Upstream's own self-host guide asks you to write the .env and run Docker Compose.

What services does self-hosted Firecrawl run?

A Playwright headless Chromium service, a Postgres queue database, Redis, RabbitMQ and the API with its worker processes, plus a Caddy gateway that checks the key. Only the HTTPS endpoint is reachable; none of the other services publish a port.

What is not available in self-hosted Firecrawl?

Upstream says self-hosted instances have no Fire-engine, its advanced handling of IP blocks and robot detection. This template also has no account credits or Supabase-backed features, and AI extraction needs your own OpenAI-compatible or Ollama endpoint added in the Environment editor.

How do I authenticate requests to my Firecrawl server?

Send the generated API key as Authorization: Bearer followed by the key. Firecrawl has no user system, so one key covers every client and requests without it get 401. To rotate it, change GATEWAY_API_KEY in the Environment editor, redeploy and update your clients.

What can Firecrawl scrape into?

Upstream says scrape converts any URL to Markdown, HTML, screenshots or structured JSON, and crawl, map and batch scrape cover whole sites. In this self-hosted image the JSON format needs an OpenAI-compatible or Ollama endpoint, and this page does not claim the hosted service's screenshots or page actions for this install.

Which SDKs and integrations does Firecrawl have?

The upstream README shows Python and Node.js SDKs, cURL and a CLI, and says Firecrawl connects to AI agents and MCP clients. Point an SDK's API URL at your domain and pass the generated key as its API key. This template configures no integrations.

How much RAM does Firecrawl need?

The template's baseline asks for 2 CPU cores, 4096 MB of RAM and 10 GB of disk; QA measured about 2.7 GiB idle and 2.9 GiB after a scrape and a crawl. This page sells the 16 GB tier because a 4 GB baseline leaves little headroom on a 6 GB server.

Is Firecrawl open source?

Yes. Firecrawl is open source under AGPL-3.0, and upstream also sells a hosted service. The self-hosted image on xCloud costs nothing in licence fees; your plan pays for the server. Check the AGPL terms if you plan to offer Firecrawl to other people as a network service.

What should I back up for Firecrawl?

The firecrawl_postgres volume, which holds the queue database of jobs and crawl results, and the firecrawl_redis volume for rate-limit and crawl state, together. Keep the generated credentials private. In QA a finished crawl survived a full restart of all containers.

How do I upgrade Firecrawl?

Nothing upgrades itself: the image is pinned to 2.11.1 by digest, so an existing install stays on it until you move it. Read the upstream release notes, back up both volumes, then bump the readable tag and digest together on your own schedule.

Is this a Firecrawl cloud service?

No. It is the self-hosted API on a dedicated Cloud VPS under your xCloud login, a Firecrawl cloud of your own rather than upstream's hosted service. Expect about 2 to 4 minutes after install before it answers, while the database and workers start.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. There is no lock-in — cancel any time. Hosting is billed monthly and charged for what you actually use, so when you delete the server the unused balance is refunded to your account, less up to 10% in payment-processing fees.
