Sim Hosting Live In 5 Minutes

Sim hosting gives your team a self-hosted AI agent workflow builder on your own server. Deploy Sim v0.9.14 and build, run and schedule agent workflows on a visual canvas: xCloud runs PostgreSQL with pgvector, Redis, the realtime socket and the scheduler on a private network, generates the secrets, keeps accounts, workflows and uploads on persistent volumes and serves everything over HTTPS on one domain.

What is Sim?

Self-hosted Sim is an AI agent workflow builder. Its README describes an open-source workspace to build, deploy and manage AI agents and workflows: connect 1,000+ integrations and every major LLM, build agents visually, conversationally or with code, ingest files and knowledge bases, and monitor runs, logs and schedules. It is used in place of a hosted automation service such as Zapier when workflows and their data should stay on your own server.

On xCloud the template runs Sim v0.9.14 as the web app, a realtime server, a scheduler and a migrations job, with PostgreSQL and pgvector and Redis, every image pinned by immutable digest. The postgres_data and uploads_data volumes persist accounts, workflows, knowledge bases and uploads. Everything is served over HTTPS on one domain. Sim is Apache-2.0 licensed, and its Enterprise features are not enabled.

From Sign-Up to a Live Sim Workspace In Just 3 Easy Steps

A Sim install normally means a web app, a realtime server, a scheduler, a vector-enabled database, Redis, a set of secrets, a domain and a certificate before the first workflow exists. This is the same result without assembling any of it.

  1. Step 01

Create your xCloud account and pick Sim from the OneClick catalog. Choose your domain and server. There are no extra fields; xCloud generates the credentials and shows the database password and encryption key in the protected installation credentials.

  2. Step 02

    We Deploy It For You

One click. We bring up the Sim app, realtime server and scheduler with PostgreSQL 17 and pgvector and Redis on the private network, run the migrations, keep data on the postgres_data and uploads_data volumes and serve the app, API and socket over HTTPS on one domain.

  3. Step 03

Create Your Account And Add A Model Key

Allow about five minutes for the first start to pull images and run migrations. Open the HTTPS URL, create your account from the sign-up page, add your model provider keys under Settings, then set DISABLE_REGISTRATION=true to close sign-up.

Everything Sim Does, On Your Own Server

Sim runs in full here: a visual agent workflow builder with its realtime and scheduling services, on a domain and a server you control.

  • Visual Workflow Canvas

Build agent workflows on a visual canvas from agent, tool and logic blocks.

  • Flexible Triggers

Start workflows from a schedule, a webhook, an API call or a deployed chat.

  • Knowledge Bases

Upload documents and search them by vector similarity, backed by the pgvector-enabled PostgreSQL in the same instance.

  • Live Collaboration

Work on the same canvas together through the realtime socket, served on the same HTTPS domain as the app.

  • Integrations And Models

Upstream lists 1,000+ integrations and every major LLM; you bring your own provider keys in Settings.

  • Runs And Logs

Monitor runs, logs, schedules and workflow activity; execution logs are kept in your own PostgreSQL database.

Everything You Need To Run Your AI Workflows 24/7

Managed hosting for Sim, so the parts that keep it online are not your problem.

  • Sim v0.9.14 deployed instantly
  • PostgreSQL with pgvector included
  • Secrets generated for you
  • Persistent database and uploads
  • Free SSL certificate
  • Server backups and snapshots
  • Server security updates included
  • 30+ server locations
  • Unused balance refunded

What You Can Do With Sim

  • Automate a task with an AI agent

Chain agent, tool and logic blocks on the canvas so a model does the repetitive work between your systems.

  • Run workflows on a schedule or a webhook

Trigger the same workflow from a timer, an incoming webhook or an API call, without keeping a laptop open.

  • Answer questions from your own documents

Upload documents to a knowledge base and have workflows search them with vector search.

  • Keep agent data on your own server

Store accounts, workflows, execution logs and uploads in your own PostgreSQL database and upload folder.

Sim vs Alternatives

Zapier
If you automate tasks in Zapier today, Sim is the self-hosted route: the workflows, execution logs and knowledge bases sit in a PostgreSQL database on a server you control, and you bring your own model keys.
n8n
n8n has its own xCloud page. Sim is built around AI agent workflows, with knowledge bases and vector search on the same canvas.
Activepieces
Activepieces has its own xCloud page. Sim centres on agents and knowledge bases, with a realtime canvas for collaboration.
Langflow
Langflow has its own xCloud page. Compare the two templates for the integrations and triggers you need; Sim starts workflows from schedules, webhooks and an API.

See why agencies, developers, startups, and growing businesses choose xCloud to power their projects.

xCloud works really well, I am surprised by its performance being this the release version, I have tried many paid platforms such as runcloud, cloudpages or serveravatar, as well as free platforms such as CyberPanel, CloudPanel or Hestia Control Panel and direct competitors such as SpinupWP and FlyWP. Of all those that I have tried, the platform that works best for WordPress is SpinupWP and I believe that xCloud can reach and surpass that development, its roadmap is promising. Congratulations to the xCloud team, I hope they become the leading platform in the segment, it has all the potential to achieve it!
Brian Geovanny
I've been with runcloud for the last 3 years. However, after trying xcloud for the last month, I'm switching over. They are on a roll with their setup.

I'm moving my servers to xCloud, a cloud control panel by M Asif Rahman and the WPDeveloper team. Their roadmap looks interesting and no, there are no team mates nor API limits with xCloud! #xCloud #wordpress #hosting

xCloud is like having an expert server team on call — without the big agency costs. It's given me back my time and given my clients peace of mind. Highly recommended for freelancers and small teams who want reliable performance and security.

xCloud isn't just a solution. It's like one of that friend who got your back when you screw things up pretty bad.

Trust me when I say, once people explore the potential of xCloud they gonna switch from other panels, just keep delivering the best tech, lots of love for the team 😍😍

So far my experience has been smooth like silk. I didn't imagine that configuring and managing a VPS would be so easy. As of today, I have deployed 8 sites. The support is good, and they treat users with respect, even if they ask stupid questions (myself included). For the future, I hope for greater flexibility in scheduled backups and more comprehensive and consistent documentation. I'm sure that within a few months, xCloud will become the leader in its segment. This community is amazing, and the Staff here is super helpful.

Came from cloudways then to runcloud then to xcloud. Looks like I'm staying here.

I've recently taken all of my Vultr-hosted sites and gotten rid of cPanel for them to substitute it with xCloud. I have to say, I'm really impressed with xCloud so far! The interface is definitely the standout feature for me.
Tony Lewis
I came from Cloudways and won't go back. Highly impressed with xCloud. Glad I gave them a chance.
Jared McDowell
I like xCloud better than RunCloud, but one thing I'll point out is that some years ago RunCloud was hungry for business, the support was outstanding, and the community was active and helped each other. Maybe it was sold, there was a change in management, or they stopped being hungry, but the quality of the RunCloud offering declined and it hasn't been moving forward quickly. My point is that currently the xCloud team has the edge and it is theirs to keep or lose

Dear xCloud Team, I have been using xCloud for some time now and am genuinely impressed with its capabilities and the flexibility it offers by allowing users to bring their own VPS for management. It's a fantastic service, and my experience so far has been very positive. Successful migrated 5 sites on a single server. Xcloud migration tool worked great. There were few hiccups with security plugin like MalCare but disabling the plugin prior to migration worked just fine.

Frequently Asked Questions

Feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns you may have.

How much RAM does Sim need?

The template's baseline asks for 2 CPU cores, 12 GB of RAM and 20 GB of disk, and QA measured about 1.75 GiB idle across all containers. Because the manifest floor is 12 GB, this page sells the 16 GB tier as the entry rung rather than a smaller size.

Is Sim open source?

Yes, with a caveat. Sim is Apache-2.0 licensed, per the LICENSE at the v0.9.14 tag, but its Enterprise features are under a separate licence and are not enabled in this template. xCloud charges for the dedicated Cloud VPS, not for the software.

Can you run Sim with Docker?

Yes, and this is Sim Docker hosting prepared for you. Upstream's own self-hosting wizard starts the published images with Docker Compose; the template runs those images, with PostgreSQL and pgvector and Redis, pinned by immutable digest, with two volumes and HTTPS on one domain.

Is there a default admin login in Sim?

No. Sim has no pre-created admin, and sign-up is open to anyone who can reach the URL, so create your own account right away. Afterwards set DISABLE_REGISTRATION=true in the Environment editor and redeploy to close sign-up for everyone else.

Does Sim need an AI provider key to start?

No. Add model provider keys inside Sim under Settings whenever you are ready; none is bundled. Sim Chat is optional and needs its own COPILOT_API_KEY from sim.ai, and without one you can set NEXT_PUBLIC_CHAT_DISABLED=true to hide the Chat module.

Who can run code on a self-hosted Sim server?

Anyone with an account can create workflows that run code and make outgoing HTTP requests from your server. Keep sign-up closed once your team is in, and give accounts only to people you would trust with that capability.

What runs alongside the Sim web app?

A realtime server for live canvas collaboration, a scheduler for scheduled workflows and polling triggers, PostgreSQL with pgvector, Redis, a migrations job and an nginx gateway. They all run privately inside the site with no host ports; only HTTPS on your domain is exposed.

Does Sim support knowledge bases and vector search?

Yes. Per its README Sim can ingest files and knowledge bases, and this template backs them with the pgvector-enabled PostgreSQL in the same install, so documents are searched by vector similarity without a separate vector database. They live on the postgres_data volume.

What should I back up on a Sim server?

A backup is both named volumes, postgres_data for accounts, workflows, knowledge bases and execution logs and uploads_data for uploaded files, plus the generated environment values. ENCRYPTION_KEY and API_ENCRYPTION_KEY must not change, or stored credentials become unreadable.

How do I upgrade Sim?

Nothing upgrades it for you: the template pins Sim v0.9.14 by immutable digest. Read the upstream release notes, back up both volumes and the generated environment values, then adopt a newer template version when one is published, and recheck sign-in and a workflow run afterwards.

Is this Sim cloud hosting?

It is your own Sim on a dedicated Cloud VPS that xCloud provisions, not sim.ai, which is upstream's own hosted service. The containers, both volumes and your accounts belong to your install, and the app is served over HTTPS on your domain.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. There is no lock-in — cancel any time. Hosting is billed monthly and charged for what you actually use, so when you delete the server the unused balance is refunded to your account, less up to 10% in payment-processing fees.
