From Sign-Up to a Live DumbPad In Just 3 Easy Steps

Self-hosting DumbPad normally means containers, a database, a domain and a certificate before anything works. This is the same result without assembling any of it.

  1. Step 01

Create your xCloud account and pick DumbPad from the OneClick catalog. Takes 30 seconds — no server to prepare.

  2. Step 02

    We Deploy It For You

One click. We provision the server, bring DumbPad and its supporting services up, and handle the domain and SSL certificate.

  3. Step 03

    Start Using It

Open `https://${DOMAIN}` and enter the PIN you set at install.

Everything DumbPad Does, On Your Own Server

DumbPad runs in full here — the same features as any hosted offering, with the data on infrastructure you control.

  • Multiple pads

DumbPad ships this as part of the core product, available from the first deploy rather than gated behind a paid tier.

  • Markdown

Handled inside DumbPad itself, so there is no second service to run and no integration to keep working.

  • Page history

One of the reasons teams pick DumbPad over a hosted alternative, and it costs nothing extra on a server you already own.

  • Shared-PIN protection

Included out of the box. On your own instance there is no seat count and no usage tier limiting how much you use it.

  • Backed By A Volume

State lives on a persistent named volume that survives a restart, with backups on the schedule you set.

  • Yours To Extend

A server you own means you can run other apps beside it and script against it however you like.

Everything You Need To Run Your Service 24/7

Managed hosting for DumbPad, so the parts that keep it online are not your problem.

  • DumbPad deployed instantly
  • Multiple pads
  • Markdown
  • Page history
  • Free SSL certificate
  • Automatic backups
  • Security updates included
  • 30+ server locations
  • Unused balance refunded

See why agencies, developers, startups, and growing businesses choose xCloud to power their projects.

xCloud works really well, I am surprised by its performance being this the release version, I have tried many paid platforms such as runcloud, cloudpages or serveravatar, as well as free platforms such as CyberPanel, CloudPanel or Hestia Control Panel and direct competitors such as SpinupWP and FlyWP. Of all those that I have tried, the platform that works best for WordPress is SpinupWP and I believe that xCloud can reach and surpass that development, its roadmap is promising. Congratulations to the xCloud team, I hope they become the leading platform in the segment, it has all the potential to achieve it!

I've been with runcloud for the last 3 years. However, after trying xcloud for the last month, I'm switching over. They are on a roll with their setup.

I'm moving my servers to xCloud, a cloud control panel by M Asif Rahman and the WPDeveloper team. Their roadmap looks interesting and no, there are no team mates nor API limits with xCloud! #xCloud #wordpress #hosting

xCloud is like having an expert server team on call — without the big agency costs. It's given me back my time and given my clients peace of mind. Highly recommended for freelancers and small teams who want reliable performance and security.

xCloud isn't just a solution. It's like one of that friend who got your back when you screw things up pretty bad.

Trust me when I say, once people explore the potential of xCloud they gonna switch from other panels, just keep delivering the best tech, lots of love for the team 😍😍

So far my experience has been smooth like silk. I didn't imagine that configuring and managing a VPS would be so easy. As of today, I have deployed 8 sites. The support is good, and they treat users with respect, even if they ask stupid questions (myself included). For the future, I hope for greater flexibility in scheduled backups and more comprehensive and consistent documentation. I'm sure that within a few months, xCloud will become the leader in its segment. This community is amazing, and the Staff here is super helpful.

Came from cloudways then to runcloud then to xcloud. Looks like I'm staying here.

I've recently taken all of my Vultr-hosted sites and gotten rid of cPanel for them to substitute it with xCloud. I have to say, I'm really impressed with xCloud so far! The interface is definitely the standout feature for me.

I came from Cloudways and won't go back. Highly impressed with xCloud. Glad I gave them a chance.
Jared McDowell
I like xCloud better than RunCloud, but one thing I'll point out is that some years ago RunCloud was hungry for business, the support was outstanding, and the community was active and helped each other. Maybe it was sold, there was a change in management, or they stopped being hungry, but the quality of the RunCloud offering declined and it hasn't been moving forward quickly. My point is that currently the xCloud team has the edge and it is theirs to keep or lose

Dear xCloud Team, I have been using xCloud for some time now and am genuinely impressed with its capabilities and the flexibility it offers by allowing users to bring their own VPS for management. It's a fantastic service, and my experience so far has been very positive. Successful migrated 5 sites on a single server. Xcloud migration tool worked great. There were few hiccups with security plugin like MalCare but disabling the plugin prior to migration worked just fine.

Frequently Asked Questions

Feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns you may have.

What is DumbPad?

Simple self-hosted notepad with multiple pads, Markdown, page history, and shared-PIN protection. It is open source and self-hosted, and this template deploys version 1.0.4.

Can you self-host DumbPad?

Yes — that is what this is. Self-hosting normally means assembling the container, its supporting services, a domain and a certificate yourself. On xCloud DumbPad is a OneClick app, so the server, the services, the domain and the SSL are provisioned for you in about five minutes.

Do I need technical skills?

No. There is no terminal, no Docker Compose file to edit and no setup script to run. You pick a plan, we deploy, and you sign in.

What are the server requirements?

The template manifest asks for 512 MB of RAM, 1 CPU core and 1 GB of disk as a floor. This page sells the 6 GB tier, which is comfortably above that.

What exactly does the template deploy?

Pinned, verified images rather than a floating latest tag. In short: Image: dumbwareio/dumbpad:1.0.4@sha256:03e4216d7842958287bccf6c51dde1c41735b35235844fb87c70b4443143ada6, the official GPL-3.0 image pinned to release 1.0.4 and its multi-architecture digest; Service class: web_app; xCloud terminates HTTPS through nginx; Port: container port 3000, proxied by xCloud and bound only to localhost; Persistent volume: dumbpad_data:/app/data stores pads and their history. Existing servers stay on their installation snapshot until you choose to upgrade.

Where does my data live?

On your own server. DumbPad keeps its state on a persistent named volume that survives a restart, and backups run on the schedule you set. There is no third party holding the data and no export process to go through if you want it elsewhere.

Is it exposed to the internet?

It is served on your own domain over HTTPS, with the certificate issued and renewed for you. Anything the template puts behind authentication stays behind authentication; nothing is published unauthenticated by default.

Can I run other apps on the same server?

Yes. It is a dedicated Cloud VPS, not a locked appliance, so you can deploy other OneClick apps or your own sites beside it as long as the resources are there.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. There is no lock-in — cancel any time. Hosting is billed monthly and charged for what you actually use, so when you delete the server the unused balance is refunded to your account, less up to 10% in payment-processing fees.
