What is GLPI?
GLPI is a free, open-source IT asset management and service-desk platform for inventory, tickets, contracts, changes, problems and audit history. This template deploys version 11.0.8.
Is GLPI free?
Yes — it is free and open source under the GPL-3.0 license. What you pay xCloud for is the dedicated server it runs on and the management around it, not the application itself.
Can I self-host GLPI?
Yes — that is exactly what this template deploys. It brings up the official GLPI 11.0.8 image alongside a private MariaDB 11.8.3 database, both pinned by immutable digest, mounts its two persistent volumes and publishes it over HTTPS on your domain in minutes instead of assembled by hand.
How do I sign in for the first time?
GLPI ships four default accounts (glpi, tech, normal, post-only), all with well-known upstream passwords. On first boot xCloud automatically rotates the glpi super-admin password to a generated value — shown in your credentials panel — and disables the tech, normal and post-only sample accounts.
What does xCloud configure automatically?
A private MariaDB database with a generated name, user and password, both persistent volumes, the domain, the HTTPS route, and the first-boot account security described above. Only the GLPI web interface is published through xCloud-managed ingress — MariaDB stays private to the internal network.
Are GLPI's other default accounts safe to leave as-is?
No. The tech, normal and post-only sample accounts are disabled automatically, but you should still create your own named administrator, sign in with it, and remove or re-enable only the role templates your organization actually needs before adding production data.
What should I back up?
glpi_data and glpi_db together, from a consistent point in time. glpi_data holds configuration, files, logs, plugin data and the instance encryption key; glpi_db holds MariaDB data. The encryption key must stay paired with its matching database — a database-only snapshot is not a complete GLPI backup.
How do I rotate the database password?
Changing DB_PASSWORD in the Environment editor does not rotate the existing MariaDB account by itself. Rotate the database account first, then update the matching value and Save & Redeploy.
Does xCloud automatically back up or update GLPI?
No. The template pins GLPI 11.0.8 and MariaDB 11.8.3 by immutable digest; a catalog re-sync affects new installations only. Review compatibility notes, back up both volumes together, then verify sign-in, ticket access and restart persistence before changing either pinned image.
What are the server requirements?
The template manifest asks for 2 GB of RAM, two CPU cores and 10 GB of disk as a floor. This page sells the 6 GB tier per the same rule every OneClick app uses — scale storage further for inventory attachments, logs and plugins.
What survives a restart?
Everything on glpi_data and glpi_db, because both are persistent named volumes. A restart does not touch existing assets, tickets, configuration or the encryption key — but never run `docker compose down -v` on a retained installation, which would destroy both.
Is xCloud officially partnered with GLPI?
No. No official partnership or endorsement between xCloud and the GLPI project has been verified. This is a deployment and server-management option for the open-source GLPI project.
Can I run other apps on the same server?
Yes. It is a dedicated Cloud VPS, not a locked appliance, so you can deploy other OneClick apps or your own sites beside it as long as the resources are there.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. There is no lock-in — cancel any time. Hosting is billed monthly and charged for what you actually use, so when you delete the server the unused balance is refunded to your account, less up to 10% in payment-processing fees.
