OrigamiVault hosting on xCloud lets you deploy OrigamiVault, a client-side tool that turns seed phrases, recovery codes and passwords into encrypted, printable QR paper backups, on your own HTTPS domain. xCloud serves the pinned static site from a small container. Encryption and decryption run in the visitor's browser, so nothing typed, scanned or printed is sent to or stored on your server.
OrigamiVault is a small offline web app for encrypting or splitting secrets and printing them as QR codes and OCR-friendly recovery snippets. Password-based encryption uses AES through the Web Crypto API, with Shamir's Secret Sharing as an option, and all cryptography runs client-side. A self-hosted OrigamiVault is a set of encrypted paper backups you can print, in place of a handwritten note, served from your own domain. It is MIT licensed.
On xCloud it is OrigamiVault 1.0.1, the official image pinned by digest, serving static pages from one container. There are no accounts, no database, no environment settings and no data volume. HTTPS matters because the built-in QR scanner needs the browser's camera access, which browsers only grant on secure pages. Anyone who can reach the site can use it.
OrigamiVault is a static site, but it still needs a web server, a domain and a certificate before the QR scanner can use the camera. This is the same result without assembling any of it.
Step 01
Create your xCloud account and pick OrigamiVault from the OneClick catalog. Choose your domain and target server. There are no extra fields to fill in and no credentials to generate.
Step 02
One click. We bring up the official OrigamiVault container, pinned by immutable digest, and publish its web interface over HTTPS on your domain. It is a single container with no database and no volumes.
Step 03
Open your HTTPS OrigamiVault URL, encrypt a test secret, then paste the result into the decrypt page to confirm the round trip before you print anything that matters.
OrigamiVault runs in full here: the encrypt, decrypt and Shamir pages served from your own domain, with all the cryptography still happening in the browser.
Encrypt a secret with a password using AES through the browser's Web Crypto API, then print it as a QR code.
Split a secret into several shares with Shamir's Secret Sharing, so no single person or sheet of paper can recover it alone.
Each print carries an encrypted QR code and an OCR-friendly decryption snippet set in Azeret Mono, so recovery still works if QR scanning fails.
Scan a printed QR code back into the app. Browsers allow camera access only over HTTPS, which xCloud provides on your domain.
Upstream describes the pages as pure HTML, CSS and JavaScript, so you can save decrypt.html or use the printed snippet without a server.
Upstream has no backend, analytics or logging, and there is no sign-in. The server only serves the page files.
Managed hosting for OrigamiVault, so the parts that keep it online are not your problem.
Encrypt a seed phrase with a password and print it as a QR code, so a paper copy in a drawer is useless to someone who finds it without the password.
Use Shamir's Secret Sharing to divide a secret into several shares, so no single person holds the whole thing and you choose how many shares are needed to recover it.
Prepare printed backups of master passwords and 2FA seeds that your family can decrypt later, with an OCR-friendly snippet that works even if QR scanning fails.
Serve the app from your own domain over HTTPS, so people use a copy you control and the QR scanner can reach the camera, instead of relying on a third party's page.

xCloud works really well, I am surprised by its performance being this the release version, I have tried many paid platforms such as runcloud, cloudpages or serveravatar, as well as free platforms such as CyberPanel, CloudPanel or Hestia Control Panel and direct competitors such as SpinupWP and FlyWP. Of all those that I have tried, the platform that works best for WordPress is SpinupWP and I believe that xCloud can reach and surpass that development, its roadmap is promising. Congratulations to the xCloud team, I hope they become the leading platform in the segment, it has all the potential to achieve it!
Brian GeovannyI've been with runcloud for the last 3 years. However, after trying xcloud for the last month, I'm switching over. They are on a roll with their setup.
Kevin PinedaI'm moving my servers to xCloud, a cloud control panel by M Asif Rahman and the WPDeveloper team. Their roadmap looks interesting and no, there are no team mates nor API limits with xCloud! #xCloud #wordpress #hosting
Leo KooHow Cloud Nine Web Elevated Client Experience While Streamlining Hosting Operations using xCloud
Ed EllinghamxCloud is like having an expert server team on call — without the big agency costs. It's given me back my time and given my clients peace of mind. Highly recommended for freelancers and small teams who want reliable performance and security.
Dumitru ButucelxCloud isn't just a solution. It's like one of that friend who got your back when you screw things up pretty bad.
Waqar AhmedTrust me when I say, once people explore the potential of xCloud they gonna switch from other panels, just keep delivering the best tech, lots of love for the team 😍😍
Rahul SinghSo far my experience has been smooth like silk. I didn't imagine that configuring and managing a VPS would be so easy. As of today, I have deployed 8 sites. The support is good, and they treat users with respect, even if they ask stupid questions (myself included). For the future, I hope for greater flexibility in scheduled backups and more comprehensive and consistent documentation. I'm sure that within a few months, xCloud will become the leader in its segment. This community is amazing, and the Staff here is super helpful.
Massimo VillaCame from cloudways then to runcloud then to xcloud. Looks like I'm staying here.
Gerson ElI've recently taken all of my Vultr-hosted sites and gotten rid of cPanel for them to substitute it with xCloud. I have to say, I'm really impressed with xCloud so far! The interface is definitely the standout feature for me.
Tony LewisI came from Cloudways and won't go back. Highly impressed with xCloud. Glad I gave them a chance.
Jared McDowellI like xCloud better than RunCloud, but one thing I'll point out is that some years ago RunCloud was hungry for business, the support was outstanding, and the community was active and helped each other. Maybe it was sold, there was a change in management, or they stopped being hungry, but the quality of the RunCloud offering declined and it hasn't been moving forward quickly. My point is that currently the xCloud team has the edge and it is theirs to keep or lose
David McCanHow Kevin Heinrichs Cut Hosting Costs by 84% While Running WooCommerce & Node.js Sites Efficiently
Kevin HeinrichsI had 150 sites on cloudways and am in the process of moving them to xcloud. Much faster and better priced.
Dan SpinozaDear xCloud Team, I have been using xCloud for some time now and am genuinely impressed with its capabilities and the flexibility it offers by allowing users to bring their own VPS for management. It's a fantastic service, and my experience so far has been very positive. Successful migrated 5 sites on a single server. Xcloud migration tool worked great. There were few hiccups with security plugin like MalCare but disabling the plugin prior to migration worked just fine.
Rahil MaknojiaCame from runcloud. Tried xcloud and never came back.

The template floor is 128 MB of RAM, 1 CPU core and 1 GB of disk, because the container only serves static files with BusyBox httpd. The 6 GB plan is far more than this app needs, so the rest of the server stays free for other apps.
Yes, and this template is origamivault docker hosting without the setup: the official image pinned by digest serves the static pages from one container, with HTTPS on your own domain, no accounts, no database and no environment settings to manage.
No. Encryption and decryption run in the visitor's browser, and the server only serves page files. Upstream states nothing is uploaded or stored online, with no backend, analytics or logging, so leaving the site open exposes nothing private.
Upstream says password-based encryption uses AES through the Web Crypto API, with optional Shamir's Secret Sharing to split a secret into shares. It does not name the key derivation function or cipher mode, so check the source before relying on specifics.
Yes, over HTTPS. The built-in scanner needs the browser's camera access, which browsers grant only on secure pages, so open your site on its https address. It will not work over plain HTTP.
Optionally. There are no accounts, so anyone who reaches the site can use it, and the main cost to you is bandwidth. To limit who can load the page, add your own access layer such as HTTP Basic Auth in front of it.
Yes. Upstream's README states the MIT licence, which allows free use and modification. Only the Cloud VPS costs money, so this OrigamiVault cloud install puts the tool on your own domain at a small running cost.
There is nothing to back up. The site is static pages with no data volume, no database and no accounts, and every secret stays in the visitor's browser or on their printed paper. Keep your printed backups and passwords safe instead.
The install stays on its pinned 1.0.1 image until you adopt a newer template version. With no data volume, a redeploy carries no data risk, but read the upstream release notes first. Nothing upgrades on its own.
It builds on that idea. Upstream argues paper can last for decades, while digital storage can fail, and OrigamiVault adds encryption so that finding the paper alone is not enough to read the secret.
Yes. There is no lock-in — cancel any time. Hosting is billed monthly and charged for what you actually use, so when you delete the server the unused balance is refunded to your account, less up to 10% in payment-processing fees.
Connect your first server in minutes. No plan you have to grow into.
