Authelia hosting gives you a self-hosted SSO and two-factor authentication server in front of the apps you run yourself. Deploy Authelia from the OneClick catalogue and xCloud brings up the pinned official image behind HTTPS on your own domain, creates the administrator from the details you enter, and keeps your users, registered devices and configuration on a persistent volume. You then add the access rules for the apps you want it to protect.
Authelia is a self-hosted authentication and authorization server, an open-source project licensed under Apache-2.0. It provides a login portal with two-factor authentication, access-control rules and an optional OpenID Connect provider. Upstream describes it as a companion for reverse proxies that allows, denies or redirects requests, so it suits teams that would otherwise put apps behind a hosted identity service such as Okta but only need sign-in, a second factor and per-app rules. Self-hosted Authelia keeps those accounts in files you control.
On xCloud the template deploys Authelia 4.39.28 as a single container from the official image, pinned by digest, with SQLite storage, a local YAML user file and a filesystem notifier. There is no Redis and no bundled reverse proxy. The authelia_config volume holds the configuration, users file and encrypted database; xCloud publishes the portal over HTTPS and hashes the administrator password you enter or generate.
Running Authelia yourself means a Docker host, a domain, a certificate, a hashed admin password and a config file to get right. This is the same login portal without building any of it.
Step 01
Create your xCloud account and pick Authelia from the OneClick catalog. Choose a domain, then enter the administrator username and email.
Step 02
One click. We bring up the pinned Authelia 4.39.28 image and publish it over HTTPS on your domain, with the admin password you entered or generated hashed on first start.
Step 03
Open the HTTPS URL, sign in as the administrator and register an authenticator app. Then add the access rules for the apps you want to protect.
Authelia runs in full here — one login portal for your self-hosted tools, on infrastructure you control.
One-time passwords, security keys, passkeys and Duo push, in front of every self-hosted tool you protect.
Accounts are temporarily banned after repeated failed sign-ins, out of the box.
Access stays closed until a rule opens it. Subdomains of your Authelia domain require a password from the start.
Identity checks when a user registers a second factor, plus password reset for your users. Reset messages go to notification.txt until you configure SMTP.
Turn on the OpenID Connect 1.0 provider once you add its configuration.
Users, registered 2FA devices, preferences and history all persist through an xCloud Restart.
Managed hosting for Authelia, so the parts that keep the portal online are not your problem.
An admin running several self-hosted tools can add access rules in Authelia and point their reverse proxy at it, so each app asks for a password and second factor first. The proxy must send Authelia's X-Forwarded headers; this template does not attach itself to sibling apps.
A small team can register one-time-password apps, security keys or passkeys for each user, so a stolen password alone no longer opens the apps behind the portal, with failed sign-ins temporarily banned.
A homelab owner can manage accounts in users_database.yml, generate Argon2 password digests with Authelia's own command, and keep the whole user list on a volume they back up, instead of in a third-party directory.
A developer who wants single sign-on can add the identity_providers.oidc settings to the configuration file and test OpenID Connect against their own apps, using a portal that stays off until they enable it.

xCloud works really well, I am surprised by its performance being this the release version, I have tried many paid platforms such as runcloud, cloudpages or serveravatar, as well as free platforms such as CyberPanel, CloudPanel or Hestia Control Panel and direct competitors such as SpinupWP and FlyWP. Of all those that I have tried, the platform that works best for WordPress is SpinupWP and I believe that xCloud can reach and surpass that development, its roadmap is promising. Congratulations to the xCloud team, I hope they become the leading platform in the segment, it has all the potential to achieve it!
Brian GeovannyI've been with runcloud for the last 3 years. However, after trying xcloud for the last month, I'm switching over. They are on a roll with their setup.
Kevin PinedaI'm moving my servers to xCloud, a cloud control panel by M Asif Rahman and the WPDeveloper team. Their roadmap looks interesting and no, there are no team mates nor API limits with xCloud! #xCloud #wordpress #hosting
Leo KooHow Cloud Nine Web Elevated Client Experience While Streamlining Hosting Operations using xCloud
Ed EllinghamxCloud is like having an expert server team on call — without the big agency costs. It's given me back my time and given my clients peace of mind. Highly recommended for freelancers and small teams who want reliable performance and security.
Dumitru ButucelxCloud isn't just a solution. It's like one of that friend who got your back when you screw things up pretty bad.
Waqar AhmedTrust me when I say, once people explore the potential of xCloud they gonna switch from other panels, just keep delivering the best tech, lots of love for the team 😍😍
Rahul SinghSo far my experience has been smooth like silk. I didn't imagine that configuring and managing a VPS would be so easy. As of today, I have deployed 8 sites. The support is good, and they treat users with respect, even if they ask stupid questions (myself included). For the future, I hope for greater flexibility in scheduled backups and more comprehensive and consistent documentation. I'm sure that within a few months, xCloud will become the leader in its segment. This community is amazing, and the Staff here is super helpful.
Massimo VillaCame from cloudways then to runcloud then to xcloud. Looks like I'm staying here.
Gerson ElI've recently taken all of my Vultr-hosted sites and gotten rid of cPanel for them to substitute it with xCloud. I have to say, I'm really impressed with xCloud so far! The interface is definitely the standout feature for me.
Tony LewisI came from Cloudways and won't go back. Highly impressed with xCloud. Glad I gave them a chance.
Jared McDowellI like xCloud better than RunCloud, but one thing I'll point out is that some years ago RunCloud was hungry for business, the support was outstanding, and the community was active and helped each other. Maybe it was sold, there was a change in management, or they stopped being hungry, but the quality of the RunCloud offering declined and it hasn't been moving forward quickly. My point is that currently the xCloud team has the edge and it is theirs to keep or lose
David McCanHow Kevin Heinrichs Cut Hosting Costs by 84% While Running WooCommerce & Node.js Sites Efficiently
Kevin HeinrichsI had 150 sites on cloudways and am in the process of moving them to xcloud. Much faster and better priced.
Dan SpinozaDear xCloud Team, I have been using xCloud for some time now and am genuinely impressed with its capabilities and the flexibility it offers by allowing users to bring their own VPS for management. It's a fantastic service, and my experience so far has been very positive. Successful migrated 5 sites on a single server. Xcloud migration tool worked great. There were few hiccups with security plugin like MalCare but disabling the plugin prior to migration worked just fine.
Rahil MaknojiaCame from runcloud. Tried xcloud and never came back.

Yes. Authelia is open source under the Apache-2.0 licence, so the software itself costs nothing to run. You pay for the Cloud VPS and your domain. The template adds no paid tier, and the OpenID Connect provider is part of the same software once you configure it.
Yes. The xCloud template runs the official Authelia image as a single container with Docker Compose, which is Authelia Docker hosting without writing the Compose file. It needs a Docker + Nginx server, and xCloud publishes the portal over HTTPS on your domain.
Yes. Authelia supports one-time passwords, security keys, passkeys and Duo push, and checks a user's identity when they register a second factor. Deploy it, sign in as the administrator and register an authenticator app first, then add rules for the apps behind it.
It can, but it is off by default. OpenID Connect stays disabled until you add identity_providers.oidc, with an HMAC secret and JWKS, to the configuration file on the authelia_config volume. The template does not turn it on or attach it to other apps for you.
No. The template runs Authelia alone, with no Traefik and no Redis. To protect other apps with forward auth, add access rules and point your own reverse proxy at Authelia so it sends the required X-Forwarded headers. Authelia does not protect anything by itself.
Authelia is an authentication server that works with your reverse proxy to handle sign-in, two-factor and access rules, and the xCloud template runs it as one container with SQLite. Authentik is a separate project that is not in the xCloud catalogue, so compare its docs before choosing between them.
The template's manifest asks for 256 MB of RAM, 1 CPU core and 2 GB of disk. QA measured about 34 MiB idle and roughly 184 MiB at peak while hashing passwords. This page sells the 6 GB Cloud VPS so the portal has headroom and room for other apps.
Back up the whole authelia_config volume together with the storage encryption key. The volume holds configuration.yml, users_database.yml, the encrypted db.sqlite3 and notification.txt. Test a restore before relying on it, because restoring the database without the original key leaves the stored data unreadable.
xCloud does not upgrade it for you. The image is pinned by tag and digest, so an update means a deliberate change: read the upstream release notes, take a backup of the volume first, then bump the tag and digest together. Do not assume a newer release's data can be downgraded.
It is hosting you rent and control: a dedicated Cloud VPS running the open-source Authelia software, with the users file and database on your own volume. It is not an account on a service run by the Authelia project, and xCloud has no partnership with it.
Yes. There is no lock-in — cancel any time. Hosting is billed monthly and charged for what you actually use, so when you delete the server the unused balance is refunded to your account, less up to 10% in payment-processing fees.
Connect your first server in minutes. No plan you have to grow into.
