Deploy Vane hosting and run your own AI answering engine on your own domain. xCloud runs the pinned Vane v1.12.2 image with its SearXNG search engine bundled in the same container, generates the internal search secret, mounts a persistent volume for settings, database and uploads, and publishes the app over HTTPS in minutes. Searches go through your own SearXNG instance, and answers come back with cited sources from the Ollama or cloud model you connect.
Vane is an open-source answering engine in the style of AI search products. It sends your question through web search, passes the results to a language model you choose, and replies with an answer that cites its sources. Upstream describes it as privacy-focused and designed to run on your own hardware.
The image used here includes both Vane and the SearXNG search engine, so a single container gives you the app and its search backend. Models are not included: you connect Ollama or a cloud provider inside the app.
Running Vane yourself normally means pulling the image, wiring a search engine, mounting a data volume, then adding a domain and a certificate. This is the same result without assembling any of it.
Step 01
Create your xCloud account and pick Vane from the OneClick catalog. Choose your domain and target server — there are no extra fields to fill in.
Step 02
One click. We bring up the official Vane image, pinned by immutable digest, with SearXNG running inside the same container and kept off the public internet, mount the vane_data volume for the SQLite database, config and uploads, generate the internal search secret, and publish Vane over HTTPS on your domain.
Step 03
Give first boot about two minutes for database migrations and the search engine, then open your HTTPS Vane URL and finish the setup wizard. There is no sign-in screen, so restrict access to the site before you add a chat provider.
Vane runs in full here: an answering engine on your own domain, with its own search engine and a data volume you control.
Vane combines web search with a language model and returns answers that cite the sources they came from.
Use local models through Ollama or connect providers such as OpenAI, Anthropic Claude, Google Gemini and Groq, configured inside the app.
Web search runs through a SearXNG instance packaged in the same container, so there is no separate search service to deploy.
Pick Speed for quick answers, Balanced for everyday searches or Quality for deeper research, and search the web, discussions or academic sources.
Upload documents and ask questions about them; uploads are kept on the persistent vane_data volume.
A Discover page surfaces articles and trending content, and every search is saved locally so you can revisit it.
Managed hosting for Vane, so the parts that keep it online are not your problem.
Give yourself or a small team an answering engine where queries go through a SearXNG instance you host instead of a hosted AI search service.
Ask a question and get an answer with its sources listed, then switch to Quality mode or academic sources when a topic needs more depth.
Upload PDFs, text files or images and ask questions about them alongside web results.
Point Vane at an Ollama server or a provider such as OpenAI, Anthropic Claude, Google Gemini or Groq and mix models to suit each search.

xCloud works really well, I am surprised by its performance being this the release version, I have tried many paid platforms such as runcloud, cloudpages or serveravatar, as well as free platforms such as CyberPanel, CloudPanel or Hestia Control Panel and direct competitors such as SpinupWP and FlyWP. Of all those that I have tried, the platform that works best for WordPress is SpinupWP and I believe that xCloud can reach and surpass that development, its roadmap is promising. Congratulations to the xCloud team, I hope they become the leading platform in the segment, it has all the potential to achieve it!
Brian GeovannyI've been with runcloud for the last 3 years. However, after trying xcloud for the last month, I'm switching over. They are on a roll with their setup.
Kevin PinedaI'm moving my servers to xCloud, a cloud control panel by M Asif Rahman and the WPDeveloper team. Their roadmap looks interesting and no, there are no team mates nor API limits with xCloud! #xCloud #wordpress #hosting
Leo KooHow Cloud Nine Web Elevated Client Experience While Streamlining Hosting Operations using xCloud
Ed EllinghamxCloud is like having an expert server team on call — without the big agency costs. It's given me back my time and given my clients peace of mind. Highly recommended for freelancers and small teams who want reliable performance and security.
Dumitru ButucelxCloud isn't just a solution. It's like one of that friend who got your back when you screw things up pretty bad.
Waqar AhmedTrust me when I say, once people explore the potential of xCloud they gonna switch from other panels, just keep delivering the best tech, lots of love for the team 😍😍
Rahul SinghSo far my experience has been smooth like silk. I didn't imagine that configuring and managing a VPS would be so easy. As of today, I have deployed 8 sites. The support is good, and they treat users with respect, even if they ask stupid questions (myself included). For the future, I hope for greater flexibility in scheduled backups and more comprehensive and consistent documentation. I'm sure that within a few months, xCloud will become the leader in its segment. This community is amazing, and the Staff here is super helpful.
Massimo VillaCame from cloudways then to runcloud then to xcloud. Looks like I'm staying here.
Gerson ElI've recently taken all of my Vultr-hosted sites and gotten rid of cPanel for them to substitute it with xCloud. I have to say, I'm really impressed with xCloud so far! The interface is definitely the standout feature for me.
Tony LewisI came from Cloudways and won't go back. Highly impressed with xCloud. Glad I gave them a chance.
Jared McDowellI like xCloud better than RunCloud, but one thing I'll point out is that some years ago RunCloud was hungry for business, the support was outstanding, and the community was active and helped each other. Maybe it was sold, there was a change in management, or they stopped being hungry, but the quality of the RunCloud offering declined and it hasn't been moving forward quickly. My point is that currently the xCloud team has the edge and it is theirs to keep or lose
David McCanHow Kevin Heinrichs Cut Hosting Costs by 84% While Running WooCommerce & Node.js Sites Efficiently
Kevin HeinrichsI had 150 sites on cloudways and am in the process of moving them to xcloud. Much faster and better priced.
Dan SpinozaDear xCloud Team, I have been using xCloud for some time now and am genuinely impressed with its capabilities and the flexibility it offers by allowing users to bring their own VPS for management. It's a fantastic service, and my experience so far has been very positive. Successful migrated 5 sites on a single server. Xcloud migration tool worked great. There were few hiccups with security plugin like MalCare but disabling the plugin prior to migration worked just fine.
Rahil MaknojiaCame from runcloud. Tried xcloud and never came back.

Gary MoodyxCloud gave me what no other hosting platform could: the flexibility of a VPS with the convenience of managed WordPress. As a solo founder running an entire business on one server, that combination is an important unfair advantage.
Jorge de los Reyes MartínezI use Server Avatar and xCloud and I'll sooner use xCloud than Server Avatar personally.

You don't: Vane v1.12.2 has no login. Anyone who can open the site can change its configuration, so restrict access before you add provider keys.
Only once access to the site is restricted. In this release provider API keys are readable by anyone who can open the URL, so keep the site private (for example with xCloud Basic Authentication or IP management) before you add one.
A bundled SearXNG search engine inside the same container. It listens on an internal port and is not published to the internet.
Local models through Ollama, or cloud providers such as OpenAI, Anthropic Claude, Google Gemini and Groq, configured in the app. No model is included with the deployment.
About two minutes. First boot runs database migrations and starts the search engine, so give it a moment before you open the URL.
Some SearXNG engines may be blocked from datacenter IP addresses, which can reduce results for some queries. This was noted during verification.
The vane_data volume, which holds the SQLite database, config.json and uploads, plus the generated search secret, which must be preserved on restore. Restore under the same Compose project identity.
Provider keys set through the environment are applied only when that provider is new. Changing a key later adds another provider rather than rotating the existing one, so update keys inside the app.
No. The template pins Vane v1.12.2 by immutable digest; new installations use the pinned release and existing sites are not automatically upgraded. Back up the volume, read the upstream release notes, then bump the image tag and digest together and recreate the container on your own schedule. Server-level backups and snapshots are available on every Cloud VPS.
The template's baseline asks for 2 CPU cores, 1024 MB of RAM and 10 GB of disk; measured use in QA was 387 MB idle and about 602 MB after a round trip. This page sells the 6 GB tier as the entry rung, with real headroom above that baseline.
Everything on the vane_data volume. Configuration, theme and uploads were verified to persist across an xCloud Restart in QA.
No. No official partnership or endorsement between xCloud and the Vane project has been verified. This is a deployment and server-management option for the open-source Vane project, which is MIT licensed.
Yes. There is no lock-in — cancel any time. Hosting is billed monthly and charged for what you actually use, so when you delete the server the unused balance is refunded to your account, less up to 10% in payment-processing fees.
Connect your first server in minutes. No credit card required, and no plan you have to grow into.
