Morphic hosting on xCloud gives you a self-hosted AI search engine that answers questions with cited, grounded results rendered in a generative interface. Deploy Morphic from the OneClick catalog and xCloud starts the pinned image with private Postgres, Redis and a bundled SearXNG search service behind a Basic Authentication gateway, generates the credentials and mounts three volumes. You supply an LLM provider key, and everyone with the login shares one user.
Morphic is, in its README's words, an AI-powered search engine with a generative UI. It lists AI-powered search with grounded, cited answers, answers rendered as rich inline components, Quick and Adaptive search modes, a model selector across providers such as OpenAI, Anthropic, Google and Ollama, several search providers, chat history in PostgreSQL and shareable result links. Self-hosted Morphic is a search engine you run yourself instead of a hosted AI search product such as Perplexity. It is licensed under Apache-2.0.
On xCloud this template deploys Morphic with its own Postgres 17, Redis and a bundled SearXNG service, so no search API key is needed. A Caddy gateway puts Basic Authentication in front of everything, and the prebuilt image cannot turn on user login, so everyone with the credentials shares one anonymous user and your LLM key. File uploads stay disabled until you add storage credentials.
Self-hosting Morphic normally means a search backend, chat storage, a gateway, an LLM integration, a domain and a certificate before your first question. This is the same result without assembling any of it.
Step 01
Create your xCloud account and pick Morphic from the OneClick catalog. Choose a domain, an admin username (default admin) and paste your OpenAI API key.
Step 02
One click. We bring up Morphic, SearXNG, Postgres, Redis and a Caddy gateway, all pinned by immutable digest, generate a 32-character admin password, and enforce HTTP Basic Authentication on every path over HTTPS.
Step 03
Wait one to two minutes for first-boot database migrations, open your HTTPS URL, sign in with the admin username and generated password, pick a model and ask your first question.
Morphic runs in full here — cited search answers, a generative UI and a choice of model providers, on infrastructure you control.
Returns sourced answers rendered with a generative UI — images, grids and headings — instead of plain markdown.
Search runs through a bundled SearXNG service, so no Tavily or Exa key is needed to get started.
OpenAI on the install form, or Anthropic, Google, Ollama, Vercel AI Gateway or an OpenAI-compatible endpoint through Environment.
Switch between search modes and models driven by the provider keys you set, right from the interface.
A Basic Authentication gateway covers the whole interface, so strangers can't spend your LLM key.
Chat history, Redis data and SearXNG data sit on named volumes and survive a restart.
Managed hosting for Morphic, so the parts that keep it online are not your problem.
You search in plain language and read an answer with sources, rendered with images and structured blocks.
You bring an OpenAI, Anthropic, Google or Ollama key and pick the model from the selector under the question box.
A team that does not want its questions stored by a hosted product keeps chat history in a Postgres volume it controls.
You share a search result with a unique link, so a colleague sees the same cited answer.

xCloud works really well, I am surprised by its performance being this the release version, I have tried many paid platforms such as runcloud, cloudpages or serveravatar, as well as free platforms such as CyberPanel, CloudPanel or Hestia Control Panel and direct competitors such as SpinupWP and FlyWP. Of all those that I have tried, the platform that works best for WordPress is SpinupWP and I believe that xCloud can reach and surpass that development, its roadmap is promising. Congratulations to the xCloud team, I hope they become the leading platform in the segment, it has all the potential to achieve it!
Brian GeovannyI've been with runcloud for the last 3 years. However, after trying xcloud for the last month, I'm switching over. They are on a roll with their setup.
Kevin PinedaI'm moving my servers to xCloud, a cloud control panel by M Asif Rahman and the WPDeveloper team. Their roadmap looks interesting and no, there are no team mates nor API limits with xCloud! #xCloud #wordpress #hosting
Leo KooHow Cloud Nine Web Elevated Client Experience While Streamlining Hosting Operations using xCloud
Ed EllinghamxCloud is like having an expert server team on call — without the big agency costs. It's given me back my time and given my clients peace of mind. Highly recommended for freelancers and small teams who want reliable performance and security.
Dumitru ButucelxCloud isn't just a solution. It's like one of that friend who got your back when you screw things up pretty bad.
Waqar AhmedTrust me when I say, once people explore the potential of xCloud they gonna switch from other panels, just keep delivering the best tech, lots of love for the team 😍😍
Rahul SinghSo far my experience has been smooth like silk. I didn't imagine that configuring and managing a VPS would be so easy. As of today, I have deployed 8 sites. The support is good, and they treat users with respect, even if they ask stupid questions (myself included). For the future, I hope for greater flexibility in scheduled backups and more comprehensive and consistent documentation. I'm sure that within a few months, xCloud will become the leader in its segment. This community is amazing, and the Staff here is super helpful.
Massimo VillaCame from cloudways then to runcloud then to xcloud. Looks like I'm staying here.
Gerson ElI've recently taken all of my Vultr-hosted sites and gotten rid of cPanel for them to substitute it with xCloud. I have to say, I'm really impressed with xCloud so far! The interface is definitely the standout feature for me.
Tony LewisI came from Cloudways and won't go back. Highly impressed with xCloud. Glad I gave them a chance.
Jared McDowellI like xCloud better than RunCloud, but one thing I'll point out is that some years ago RunCloud was hungry for business, the support was outstanding, and the community was active and helped each other. Maybe it was sold, there was a change in management, or they stopped being hungry, but the quality of the RunCloud offering declined and it hasn't been moving forward quickly. My point is that currently the xCloud team has the edge and it is theirs to keep or lose
David McCanHow Kevin Heinrichs Cut Hosting Costs by 84% While Running WooCommerce & Node.js Sites Efficiently
Kevin HeinrichsI had 150 sites on cloudways and am in the process of moving them to xcloud. Much faster and better priced.
Dan SpinozaDear xCloud Team, I have been using xCloud for some time now and am genuinely impressed with its capabilities and the flexibility it offers by allowing users to bring their own VPS for management. It's a fantastic service, and my experience so far has been very positive. Successful migrated 5 sites on a single server. Xcloud migration tool worked great. There were few hiccups with security plugin like MalCare but disabling the plugin prior to migration worked just fine.
Rahil MaknojiaCame from runcloud. Tried xcloud and never came back.

Yes. Morphic is open source under Apache-2.0, with the licence file linked from this page at the pinned v1.7.0 tag. xCloud bills for the Cloud VPS under it, not for Morphic. You still pay your own LLM provider for every answer, and the bundled search service needs no key.
Yes, and this Morphic Docker hosting template does it for you: the ghcr.io/miurla/morphic image, pinned by digest, runs beside private Postgres, Redis and SearXNG containers on your own server, behind an authenticated HTTPS gateway. It is not a Morphic cloud account, so history stays with you.
The template manifest asks for 2048 MB of RAM, 2 CPU cores and 10 GB of disk as a floor for Morphic, Postgres, Redis and SearXNG together. This page sells the 6 GB tier, which leaves wide headroom above that floor. Model inference happens at your provider, not on this server.
Use the generated admin username and password from the credentials, which the Caddy gateway requires on every path as HTTP Basic Authentication. Morphic itself has no signup. First boot runs database migrations and takes one to two minutes, then you pick a chat model under the question box.
No. Search uses the bundled SearXNG service, so no Tavily or Exa key is required. You can add Tavily, Exa or Brave through the Environment editor if you want them. You do need an LLM provider key, which the install form asks for.
OpenAI by default. Anthropic, Google, Ollama, Vercel AI Gateway and OpenAI-compatible providers are available by setting their keys in the Environment editor and redeploying. To use another provider only, paste a placeholder OpenAI key at install, then configure that provider.
No, the gateway enforces Basic Authentication on every path. But everyone who has the credentials shares one anonymous Morphic user and can use your configured LLM key, because the prebuilt image cannot turn login on. Treat the admin password like the key itself.
Not until you add storage. File uploads stay disabled until you add R2 or S3-compatible credentials in the Environment editor, and then the app accepts files up to 5 MB. Use a private bucket, and remember that uploads are visible to everyone sharing the login.
That means the provider key is missing or invalid. Set it in the Environment editor and redeploy. Check that the key matches the provider whose model you selected, because the model selector lists only models from providers whose keys are set.
Back up postgres_data, which holds chat history, redis_data and searxng_data together, with the stack stopped for a consistent copy. Keep your provider keys in your own records. Never run a command that deletes volumes on an install you want to keep.
A running install stays on its pinned image until you adopt a newer template version, so catalog updates leave it alone. A newer upstream tag exists. Back up the volumes first and read the release notes, then sign in and run a test search.
Yes. There is no lock-in — cancel any time. Hosting is billed monthly and charged for what you actually use, so when you delete the server the unused balance is refunded to your account, less up to 10% in payment-processing fees.
Connect your first server in minutes. No plan you have to grow into.
