I like xCloud better than RunCloud, but one thing I'll point out is that some years ago RunCloud was hungry for business, the support was outstanding, and the community was active and helped each other. Maybe it was sold, there was a change in management, or they stopped being hungry, but the quality of the RunCloud offering declined and it hasn't been moving forward quickly. What is Wiki.js?

Wiki.js is an open-source, AGPL-3.0 knowledge base and documentation platform for teams, with browser-based editing, full-text search, navigation and access control. This template deploys version 2.5.314.

Can I self-host Wiki.js?

Yes — that is what this is. Self-hosting normally means a container, a database, a domain and a certificate before the first page exists. On xCloud, Wiki.js is a OneClick app, so all of that is provisioned for you in about five minutes.

Do I need technical skills?

No. There is no terminal, no config file to edit and no Docker Compose to write. You pick a plan, we deploy, and you finish Wiki.js's own setup screen to create your admin account.

Does Wiki.js need a database?

Yes. This template deploys a private PostgreSQL 15 sidecar alongside Wiki.js, with the database name, username and password generated automatically. You never see or manage those credentials.

Is the database exposed to the internet?

No. PostgreSQL has no public port in this template — it's reachable only over the private network between it and Wiki.js, not from outside the server.

Who creates the first admin account?

Wiki.js does, through its own upstream setup wizard the first time you open your site. xCloud doesn't collect app-specific fields at deploy time — just a site title and a domain.

What are the server requirements?

The template manifest asks for 1024 MB of RAM, 1 CPU core and 5 GB of disk as a floor — an eligibility minimum, not a production size. This page sells the 6 GB tier, comfortably above that.

Where does my data live?

On your own server. Wiki.js's application data and page content sit on persistent named volumes alongside the PostgreSQL database, all of which survive a restart, with backups on the schedule you set.

Is it exposed to the internet?

Wiki.js is served on your own domain over HTTPS, with the certificate issued and renewed for you. The container itself isn't reachable directly — traffic goes through xCloud's HTTPS edge.

Does xCloud automatically upgrade Wiki.js?

No. New installs are pinned to 2.5.314. Before an intentional update, back up the database and application volumes, review Wiki.js's release notes, and recreate the containers without deleting the volumes.

Is xCloud an official Wiki.js partner?

No. No official partnership or endorsement between xCloud and Wiki.js is claimed. This is a deployment and server-management option for the open-source Wiki.js project.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. There is no lock-in — cancel any time. Hosting is billed monthly and charged for what you actually use, so when you delete the server the unused balance is refunded to your account, less up to 10% in payment-processing fees.
