Deploy Apache Answer hosting and run a self-hosted Q&A platform for your community, help center or internal team on a dedicated Cloud VPS. xCloud starts the pinned Apache Answer 2.0.2 container, creates the first administrator from the details you give, closes public registration, keeps the SQLite database on a persistent volume and serves it over HTTPS on your domain, with no wizard left for a stranger to finish.
Apache Answer is a Q&A platform software for teams at any scale. Whether it is a community forum, a help center or a knowledge management platform, Answer is built for questions and answers, and it has a plugin system for developers. Run on your own server it is a self-hosted Apache Answer, an alternative to a hosted Q&A service such as Stack Overflow for Teams, under the Apache-2.0 licence.
On xCloud it is one container, apache/answer 2.0.2 pinned by digest, with SQLite at /data/answer.db on the answer_data volume. The first administrator is created from your details, public registration starts closed, and HTTPS is served on your domain. Apache and Apache Answer are trademarks of the Apache Software Foundation, with which xCloud is not affiliated.
An Apache Answer install normally means a container, a database file, an install wizard, a first administrator, a registration policy, a domain and a certificate before the first question. This is the same result without assembling any of it.
Step 01
Create your xCloud account and pick Apache Answer from the OneClick catalog. Enter the admin username, the admin email and a password of 12 to 32 characters, or leave it to be generated, then choose a domain.
Step 02
One click. We start apache/answer 2.0.2, pinned by digest, as one container, mount answer_data at /data with SQLite inside, create the first administrator, close public registration and publish HTTPS.
Step 03
Sign in with the admin credentials and set up the site. Public sign-up is off, so configure SMTP and test delivery before you deliberately enable email registration for your members.
Apache Answer 2.0.2 runs here as a Q&A community, with its database and uploads kept on a volume you own.
Run a Q&A platform where members ask, answer and vote, usable as a community forum, a help center or a knowledge base.
Answer provides a plugin system for developers to add features. In this template the image includes its compiled plugin set; extra plugins need your own rebuilt image.
The first administrator is created at install from your details, so there is no open setup wizard for a stranger to finish.
Public new-user and email registration are disabled during post-install while password login stays on. You decide when to open sign-up.
The database is SQLite at /data/answer.db on the answer_data volume, with configuration, uploads and cache beside it.
One apache/answer container serves the site behind xCloud's HTTPS, with no separate database server to run.
Managed hosting for Apache Answer, so the parts that keep it online are not your problem.
Let customers ask and answer questions about your product in one searchable place, with accepted answers, on a site you host.
Capture how-to questions and answers from colleagues so knowledge stops living in chat threads, with registration kept closed to outsiders.
Publish questions and answers as a help center, controlling when you open registration and after SMTP is tested.
Use Answer's plugin system for extra features by building a customer-owned image, after your own security and licence review.

xCloud works really well, I am surprised by its performance being this the release version, I have tried many paid platforms such as runcloud, cloudpages or serveravatar, as well as free platforms such as CyberPanel, CloudPanel or Hestia Control Panel and direct competitors such as SpinupWP and FlyWP. Of all those that I have tried, the platform that works best for WordPress is SpinupWP and I believe that xCloud can reach and surpass that development, its roadmap is promising. Congratulations to the xCloud team, I hope they become the leading platform in the segment, it has all the potential to achieve it!
Brian GeovannyI've been with runcloud for the last 3 years. However, after trying xcloud for the last month, I'm switching over. They are on a roll with their setup.
Kevin PinedaI'm moving my servers to xCloud, a cloud control panel by M Asif Rahman and the WPDeveloper team. Their roadmap looks interesting and no, there are no team mates nor API limits with xCloud! #xCloud #wordpress #hosting
Leo KooHow Cloud Nine Web Elevated Client Experience While Streamlining Hosting Operations using xCloud
Ed EllinghamxCloud is like having an expert server team on call — without the big agency costs. It's given me back my time and given my clients peace of mind. Highly recommended for freelancers and small teams who want reliable performance and security.
Dumitru ButucelxCloud isn't just a solution. It's like one of that friend who got your back when you screw things up pretty bad.
Waqar AhmedTrust me when I say, once people explore the potential of xCloud they gonna switch from other panels, just keep delivering the best tech, lots of love for the team 😍😍
Rahul SinghSo far my experience has been smooth like silk. I didn't imagine that configuring and managing a VPS would be so easy. As of today, I have deployed 8 sites. The support is good, and they treat users with respect, even if they ask stupid questions (myself included). For the future, I hope for greater flexibility in scheduled backups and more comprehensive and consistent documentation. I'm sure that within a few months, xCloud will become the leader in its segment. This community is amazing, and the Staff here is super helpful.
Massimo VillaCame from cloudways then to runcloud then to xcloud. Looks like I'm staying here.
Gerson ElI've recently taken all of my Vultr-hosted sites and gotten rid of cPanel for them to substitute it with xCloud. I have to say, I'm really impressed with xCloud so far! The interface is definitely the standout feature for me.
Tony LewisI came from Cloudways and won't go back. Highly impressed with xCloud. Glad I gave them a chance.
Jared McDowellI like xCloud better than RunCloud, but one thing I'll point out is that some years ago RunCloud was hungry for business, the support was outstanding, and the community was active and helped each other. Maybe it was sold, there was a change in management, or they stopped being hungry, but the quality of the RunCloud offering declined and it hasn't been moving forward quickly. My point is that currently the xCloud team has the edge and it is theirs to keep or lose
David McCanHow Kevin Heinrichs Cut Hosting Costs by 84% While Running WooCommerce & Node.js Sites Efficiently
Kevin HeinrichsI had 150 sites on cloudways and am in the process of moving them to xcloud. Much faster and better priced.
Dan SpinozaDear xCloud Team, I have been using xCloud for some time now and am genuinely impressed with its capabilities and the flexibility it offers by allowing users to bring their own VPS for management. It's a fantastic service, and my experience so far has been very positive. Successful migrated 5 sites on a single server. Xcloud migration tool worked great. There were few hiccups with security plugin like MalCare but disabling the plugin prior to migration worked just fine.
Rahil MaknojiaCame from runcloud. Tried xcloud and never came back.

Gary MoodyxCloud gave me what no other hosting platform could: the flexibility of a VPS with the convenience of managed WordPress. As a solo founder running an entire business on one server, that combination is an important unfair advantage.
Jorge de los Reyes MartínezI use Server Avatar and xCloud and I'll sooner use xCloud than Server Avatar personally.

Yes, and this template is Apache Answer Docker hosting without the setup: apache/answer 2.0.2 pinned by digest, one container, the answer_data volume at /data and an HTTPS route. Upstream's quick start runs the same image with a data volume mounted at /data.
The template baseline requests 1 vCPU, 1 GiB of RAM and 4 GiB of disk, with community size and uploads setting real needs. This page sells the 6 GB tier, which leaves room for growth and other apps.
Sign in with the admin username, email and password shown in the credentials. They initialise the first administrator once, so editing them later in the Environment editor does not rename it or rotate its password; change it under Settings, Account.
No. During post-install, public new-user and email registration are disabled while password login stays on. Configure SMTP and test delivery before you deliberately enable email registration, otherwise new members cannot receive confirmation messages and may be locked out.
The image includes its compiled plugin set. Additional plugins need a customer-owned rebuilt image with its own security, architecture, licensing and update review, so you cannot add them from the admin panel of this template.
It can fill the role of a hosted Q&A product such as Stack Overflow for Teams: upstream describes it as Q&A platform software for teams. It is a Q&A platform you host yourself, so it has no public network of users; your community comes from the people you invite or open registration to.
Yes. Apache Answer is released under the Apache-2.0 licence, so there is nothing to buy for the software itself. You rent the dedicated Cloud VPS that hosts your community. Plugins you add may carry their own licences, which you should read before installing them.
Stop or quiesce Answer and copy the entire answer_data volume, which holds the SQLite database, configuration, uploads, localisation files and file-backed cache. There is no scheduled backup, so copy the volume yourself and try a restore on a spare install.
Nothing upgrades itself: 2.0.2 is pinned by digest, and existing installs keep their rendered snapshot. When a newer template version is published, read the upstream release notes, back up the answer_data volume, then adopt that version; a rollback means restoring that backup.
It is Apache Answer on a dedicated Cloud VPS under your xCloud login, an Apache Answer cloud of your own at your domain. xCloud runs the server and deployment; the community, its content and its members are yours.
Yes. There is no lock-in — cancel any time. Hosting is billed monthly and charged for what you actually use, so when you delete the server the unused balance is refunded to your account, less up to 10% in payment-processing fees.
Connect your first server in minutes. No plan you have to grow into.
