What is AnonAddy?

AnonAddy, now addy.io, is anonymous email forwarding you can host yourself. You create aliases on your own domain; mail sent to an alias is forwarded to your real mailbox, and you can reply without revealing it.

This deployment runs the community image with MariaDB and Redis as private services and Postfix inside the application container for mail. addy.io is licensed under AGPL-3.0.

Create your xCloud account and pick AnonAddy (addy.io) from the OneClick catalog. Choose your domain, enter the Alias Domain (the part after the @ in your aliases) and choose whether Open Registration is enabled.

What does this app do?

It forwards mail sent to aliases on your domain to your real mailbox and lets you reply without revealing it.

How do I sign in the first time?

There is no seeded administrator. Register an account in the web interface (image captcha and email verification), or create one with the upstream anonaddy:create-user command inside the container.

What runs alongside addy.io?

MariaDB 11.8 and Redis 7.4 as private services with no host ports, plus Postfix inside the application container for mail.

Is port 25 open?

Inbound SMTP is published on host port 25 and you open it in your own firewall. Many providers block port 25.

Can I run another mail server on the same server?

No. Inbound mail needs host port 25, so one install is allowed per server.

Do I need DNS records?

Yes. Add the MX, SPF, DKIM and DMARC records for the alias domain. The mail server hostname must be DNS only, not proxied by Cloudflare.

Can I reply from aliases?

Replying from aliases needs the optional spam filter and a DKIM key that the template does not create.

Should I leave registration open?

Set Open Registration to disabled after creating your account.

What should I back up?

The three data volumes (anonaddy_data, anonaddy_db and anonaddy_redis), plus APP_KEY and ANONADDY_SECRET from the Environment editor. Keep those two values stable.

What survives a restart?

Aliases, accounts, keys and the mail queue survive an xCloud Restart.

Does xCloud automatically back up or update AnonAddy?

No. The template pins AnonAddy 1.7.2 by immutable digest; new installations use the pinned release, existing sites are not automatically upgraded. Back up first, read the upstream release notes, then bump the readable tag and digest together on your own schedule. Server-level backups and snapshots are available on every Cloud VPS.

What are the server requirements, and why does this page sell 6 GB?

The template's baseline asks for 1 CPU core, 512 MB of RAM and 5 GB of disk; measured idle use in QA was about 170 MiB. This page sells the 6 GB tier as the entry rung, with real headroom above that baseline.

Is xCloud officially partnered with AnonAddy?

No. No official partnership or endorsement between xCloud and the AnonAddy project has been verified. This is a deployment and server-management option for the open-source AnonAddy project.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. There is no lock-in — cancel any time. Hosting is billed monthly and charged for what you actually use, so when you delete the server the unused balance is refunded to your account, less up to 10% in payment-processing fees.
