NodeBB hosting for communities that want real-time discussions on their own domain. Deploy NodeBB 4.15.1 as self-hosted forum software: this NodeBB forum hosting runs the pinned official image beside a private MongoDB 7 database, with the administrator account created before your first request, HTTPS published and uploads kept on persistent volumes. There is no public web installer to race, and nothing for strangers to find before you do.
Self-hosted NodeBB is forum software powered by Node.js. Its README says it uses web sockets for instant interactions and real-time notifications, with mobile responsiveness and RESTful read and write APIs, while staying true to the categories-and-topics forum format. It supports Redis, MongoDB or PostgreSQL, and teams run it as a self-hosted alternative to Discourse when they want to own the community and its data.
On xCloud the template runs ghcr.io/nodebb/nodebb 4.15.1 beside a private MongoDB 7.0.40 container, both pinned by immutable digest. The mongo_data, nodebb_config, nodebb_build and nodebb_uploads volumes persist everything. NodeBB is installed headlessly with an admin account and generated password, HTTPS is published on your domain, and registration is open by default until you restrict it in the admin panel.
Self-hosting NodeBB normally means a database, a build step for frontend assets, a domain and a certificate before your first topic. This is the same result without assembling any of it.
Step 01
Create your xCloud account and pick NodeBB from the OneClick catalog. Choose a domain and enter the administrator email.
Step 02
One click. We bring up NodeBB and a private MongoDB 7 database, both pinned by immutable digest, generate a 32-character administrator password, and publish the forum over HTTPS headlessly — the public web installer is never exposed.
Step 03
Wait for first boot, which installs dependencies and builds frontend assets (can take 10 minutes or more), then open the HTTPS NodeBB URL and sign in as admin. Configure outbound email, decide on registration, and create your first category and topic.
NodeBB runs in full here — real-time discussions, read/write APIs and the plugin and theme ecosystem, on infrastructure you control.
Web sockets power live discussions and notifications, with a mobile-responsive layout and the Harmony theme included.
Rich APIs for integrating NodeBB with other tools, or building your own client against the forum's data.
Extend the forum with community plugins and themes instead of being limited to the stock install.
The public NodeBB web installer is never exposed, and the administrator account exists from the first request.
NodeBB talks to its own MongoDB database as a scoped user limited to that database, which isn't reachable from the internet.
Topics, posts, uploads and the admin session survive a restart, since MongoDB data, config, build assets and uploads all live on persistent volumes.
Managed hosting for NodeBB, so the parts that keep it online are not your problem.
Give members categories, topics and live notifications under your own address, with registration policy, themes and plugins decided by you rather than a hosted platform.
Let customers post questions in categories you set up, then answer them where the history stays searchable, with posts and uploads kept on your own Cloud VPS.
Restrict registration to invite only and use the forum as a private space where a project or company shares discussions, using the Harmony theme out of the box.
Use the RESTful read and write APIs to feed forum content into another site or app, or to build your own client against the data, from a stable HTTPS endpoint.

xCloud works really well, I am surprised by its performance being this the release version, I have tried many paid platforms such as runcloud, cloudpages or serveravatar, as well as free platforms such as CyberPanel, CloudPanel or Hestia Control Panel and direct competitors such as SpinupWP and FlyWP. Of all those that I have tried, the platform that works best for WordPress is SpinupWP and I believe that xCloud can reach and surpass that development, its roadmap is promising. Congratulations to the xCloud team, I hope they become the leading platform in the segment, it has all the potential to achieve it!
Brian GeovannyI've been with runcloud for the last 3 years. However, after trying xcloud for the last month, I'm switching over. They are on a roll with their setup.
Kevin PinedaI'm moving my servers to xCloud, a cloud control panel by M Asif Rahman and the WPDeveloper team. Their roadmap looks interesting and no, there are no team mates nor API limits with xCloud! #xCloud #wordpress #hosting
Leo KooHow Cloud Nine Web Elevated Client Experience While Streamlining Hosting Operations using xCloud
Ed EllinghamxCloud is like having an expert server team on call — without the big agency costs. It's given me back my time and given my clients peace of mind. Highly recommended for freelancers and small teams who want reliable performance and security.
Dumitru ButucelxCloud isn't just a solution. It's like one of that friend who got your back when you screw things up pretty bad.
Waqar AhmedTrust me when I say, once people explore the potential of xCloud they gonna switch from other panels, just keep delivering the best tech, lots of love for the team 😍😍
Rahul SinghSo far my experience has been smooth like silk. I didn't imagine that configuring and managing a VPS would be so easy. As of today, I have deployed 8 sites. The support is good, and they treat users with respect, even if they ask stupid questions (myself included). For the future, I hope for greater flexibility in scheduled backups and more comprehensive and consistent documentation. I'm sure that within a few months, xCloud will become the leader in its segment. This community is amazing, and the Staff here is super helpful.
Massimo VillaCame from cloudways then to runcloud then to xcloud. Looks like I'm staying here.
Gerson ElI've recently taken all of my Vultr-hosted sites and gotten rid of cPanel for them to substitute it with xCloud. I have to say, I'm really impressed with xCloud so far! The interface is definitely the standout feature for me.
Tony LewisI came from Cloudways and won't go back. Highly impressed with xCloud. Glad I gave them a chance.
Jared McDowellI like xCloud better than RunCloud, but one thing I'll point out is that some years ago RunCloud was hungry for business, the support was outstanding, and the community was active and helped each other. Maybe it was sold, there was a change in management, or they stopped being hungry, but the quality of the RunCloud offering declined and it hasn't been moving forward quickly. My point is that currently the xCloud team has the edge and it is theirs to keep or lose
David McCanHow Kevin Heinrichs Cut Hosting Costs by 84% While Running WooCommerce & Node.js Sites Efficiently
Kevin HeinrichsI had 150 sites on cloudways and am in the process of moving them to xcloud. Much faster and better priced.
Dan SpinozaDear xCloud Team, I have been using xCloud for some time now and am genuinely impressed with its capabilities and the flexibility it offers by allowing users to bring their own VPS for management. It's a fantastic service, and my experience so far has been very positive. Successful migrated 5 sites on a single server. Xcloud migration tool worked great. There were few hiccups with security plugin like MalCare but disabling the plugin prior to migration worked just fine.
Rahil MaknojiaCame from runcloud. Tried xcloud and never came back.

Gary MoodyxCloud gave me what no other hosting platform could: the flexibility of a VPS with the convenience of managed WordPress. As a solo founder running an entire business on one server, that combination is an important unfair advantage.
Jorge de los Reyes MartínezI use Server Avatar and xCloud and I'll sooner use xCloud than Server Avatar personally.

The template manifest asks for 2048 MB of RAM, 2 CPU cores and 10 GB of disk as a floor, and the first boot installs dependencies and builds frontend assets, which can take 10 minutes or more. This page sells the 6 GB tier, comfortable headroom above that floor.
Yes. NodeBB is GPL-3.0 licensed, per the LICENSE file at the v4.15.1 tag, so the forum code costs nothing to run. xCloud bills for the dedicated Cloud VPS, while your topics, posts and uploads stay on volumes you control.
Its README says NodeBB supports Redis, MongoDB or PostgreSQL. This template uses MongoDB 7.0.40 in a private container with no public port, and NodeBB connects as a scoped user limited to its own database. Switching databases is not offered by the template.
Yes, and this is NodeBB Docker hosting prepared for you: the template runs ghcr.io/nodebb/nodebb 4.15.1 beside MongoDB, both pinned by immutable digest, with nodebb_config, nodebb_build, nodebb_uploads and mongo_data volumes and HTTPS on your domain, so you never write a compose file yourself.
Yes. The README highlights rich RESTful read and write APIs, so you can integrate the forum with other tools or build your own client against its data. The template adds no API gateway of its own; the API is served from your forum's domain.
Yes. Per its README the core holds basic functionality while extra features and integrations come from third-party plugins, and a flexible theming engine with the Harmony theme and a Bootstrap 5 base. Review any plugin before installing, since xCloud does not vet them.
A backup needs all four volumes: mongo_data for the database, nodebb_config for config.json, nodebb_build and nodebb_uploads. Use a MongoDB-consistent dump, or briefly stop NodeBB before a snapshot, and test a restore before relying on it.
Nothing upgrades it for you: the image is pinned at 4.15.1 by immutable digest. Read the release notes, back up first, then move the tag and digest up as a pair, or take a newer template version. MongoDB major upgrades need their own migration procedure.
Registration is open by default; change Registration Type under Admin > Settings > User to restrict it. Email delivery was not exercised in testing, so configure outbound email in the admin panel before relying on password resets or notifications.
No. The template installs NodeBB headlessly, so no setup wizard is ever exposed. Sign in as admin using the password generated for this install. These values are read only on first start; change the password inside NodeBB afterwards.
It is your own forum on a dedicated Cloud VPS that xCloud provisions, not a shared forum service. The private MongoDB database, the volumes and the administrator account belong to your install, and the forum is served over HTTPS on your domain.
Yes. There is no lock-in — cancel any time. Hosting is billed monthly and charged for what you actually use, so when you delete the server the unused balance is refunded to your account, less up to 10% in payment-processing fees.
Connect your first server in minutes. No plan you have to grow into.
