ConvertX Hosting Live In 5 Minutes
Deploy ConvertX hosting and run a self-hosted file converter for documents, images, audio, video and ebooks on your own domain. xCloud runs the pinned ConvertX 0.18.0 container with its SQLite data in a persistent volume, generates the session secret and publishes it over HTTPS with sign-up closed after the first account, so files go through a server you control instead of a third-party upload site.

What is ConvertX?
ConvertX is a self-hosted online file converter written in TypeScript with Bun and Elysia. Run as self-hosted ConvertX, it takes the place of upload sites such as CloudConvert and Zamzar: you pick files in the browser, choose a target format and download the result. It converts several files at once, supports password protection and multiple accounts, and wraps converters including FFmpeg, ImageMagick, LibreOffice, Pandoc and Calibre. It is licensed under AGPL-3.0.
On xCloud, the template runs the official ConvertX 0.18.0 image, pinned by digest, as one container behind xCloud's nginx, with an embedded SQLite database and a single convertx_data volume. The first visitor creates the first account, later registration stays disabled and anonymous conversion is off. Finished jobs and their files are deleted after 24 hours by default.
From Sign-Up to a Live Converter In Just 3 Easy Steps
A private converter means a container, a session secret, a volume, a domain and a certificate before the first file is converted. This is the same result without assembling any of it.
Step 01
Sign Up
Create your xCloud account and pick ConvertX from the OneClick catalog. Choose your domain and target server; the install form asks for nothing else.
Step 02
We Deploy It For You
One click. We start the ConvertX 0.18.0 image pinned by digest, mount the convertx_data volume for the SQLite database and retained files, generate the JWT session secret and publish it over HTTPS on your domain.
Step 03
Create The First Account
Open your domain straight away and register the first account, because the first visitor can claim an unconfigured instance. Then convert a small test file and download the result to confirm it opens.
Everything ConvertX Does, On Your Own Server
ConvertX runs here with its bundled converters and accounts, behind a login on your own domain.
Documents And Ebooks
LibreOffice, Pandoc and Calibre sit behind the same upload form, so one page converts office documents, markup and ebook formats.
Images And Vector Graphics
Vips, ImageMagick, GraphicsMagick, Inkscape and libheif handle raster, vector and HEIF images, with Potrace and VTracer for raster-to-vector.
Audio And Video Via FFmpeg
FFmpeg handles audio and video conversion. This baseline does not enable hardware acceleration, so large videos use CPU time.
Batch Conversion
Upload several files and convert them in one pass, with the baseline running one conversion process at a time to limit memory use.
Accounts And Passwords
ConvertX supports multiple accounts and password protection. Here, later registration is off and unauthenticated conversion is disabled.
Jobs That Expire
Conversion jobs and their uploaded and output files are removed after 24 hours by default, so download results before then.

What You Can Do With ConvertX
Convert files without uploading to third party
Run office documents, scans and recordings through a converter on your own server instead of a public upload site. Teams that handle client files keep each conversion inside infrastructure they control.
Give a team one internal converter
Create accounts for colleagues so everyone converts PDFs, images and audio in one place, rather than installing FFmpeg or LibreOffice on every laptop or pasting files into random websites.
Turn ebooks into the format your reader needs
Upload an EPUB or other ebook and convert it through Calibre to the format a specific e-reader accepts, then download it, with no desktop install.
Batch-convert a folder of images
Select a whole set of photos or graphics, pick a target format once and download the results, using ImageMagick, Vips or libheif for formats like HEIF.
ConvertX vs Alternatives
- CloudConvert
- CloudConvert is a hosted conversion service. ConvertX gives you an upload-and-convert flow across documents, images, audio and video that runs on your server, with accounts you control and files deleted after 24 hours by default.
- Zamzar
- Zamzar is a hosted online converter. ConvertX is an AGPL-3.0 application you host yourself, with conversion handled by tools such as FFmpeg and LibreOffice on your own Cloud VPS.
- VERT
- VERT has its own OneClick page on xCloud. ConvertX converts files on the server, running FFmpeg, LibreOffice and Calibre on your Cloud VPS, with accounts and 24-hour job retention.
- Command-line converters
- FFmpeg, ImageMagick and Pandoc can be run directly in a terminal. ConvertX wraps them behind a web form with accounts, so people who do not use a shell can convert files too.

See why agencies, developers, startups, and growing businesses choose xCloud to power their projects.
xCloud works really well, I am surprised by its performance being this the release version, I have tried many paid platforms such as runcloud, cloudpages or serveravatar, as well as free platforms such as CyberPanel, CloudPanel or Hestia Control Panel and direct competitors such as SpinupWP and FlyWP. Of all those that I have tried, the platform that works best for WordPress is SpinupWP and I believe that xCloud can reach and surpass that development, its roadmap is promising. Congratulations to the xCloud team, I hope they become the leading platform in the segment, it has all the potential to achieve it!
Brian GeovannyI've been with runcloud for the last 3 years. However, after trying xcloud for the last month, I'm switching over. They are on a roll with their setup.
Kevin PinedaI'm moving my servers to xCloud, a cloud control panel by M Asif Rahman and the WPDeveloper team. Their roadmap looks interesting and no, there are no team mates nor API limits with xCloud! #xCloud #wordpress #hosting
Leo KooHow Cloud Nine Web Elevated Client Experience While Streamlining Hosting Operations using xCloud
Ed EllinghamxCloud is like having an expert server team on call — without the big agency costs. It's given me back my time and given my clients peace of mind. Highly recommended for freelancers and small teams who want reliable performance and security.
Dumitru ButucelxCloud isn't just a solution. It's like one of that friend who got your back when you screw things up pretty bad.
Waqar AhmedTrust me when I say, once people explore the potential of xCloud they gonna switch from other panels, just keep delivering the best tech, lots of love for the team 😍😍
Rahul SinghSo far my experience has been smooth like silk. I didn't imagine that configuring and managing a VPS would be so easy. As of today, I have deployed 8 sites. The support is good, and they treat users with respect, even if they ask stupid questions (myself included). For the future, I hope for greater flexibility in scheduled backups and more comprehensive and consistent documentation. I'm sure that within a few months, xCloud will become the leader in its segment. This community is amazing, and the Staff here is super helpful.
Massimo VillaCame from cloudways then to runcloud then to xcloud. Looks like I'm staying here.
Gerson ElI've recently taken all of my Vultr-hosted sites and gotten rid of cPanel for them to substitute it with xCloud. I have to say, I'm really impressed with xCloud so far! The interface is definitely the standout feature for me.
Tony LewisI came from Cloudways and won't go back. Highly impressed with xCloud. Glad I gave them a chance.
Jared McDowellI like xCloud better than RunCloud, but one thing I'll point out is that some years ago RunCloud was hungry for business, the support was outstanding, and the community was active and helped each other. Maybe it was sold, there was a change in management, or they stopped being hungry, but the quality of the RunCloud offering declined and it hasn't been moving forward quickly. My point is that currently the xCloud team has the edge and it is theirs to keep or lose
David McCanHow Kevin Heinrichs Cut Hosting Costs by 84% While Running WooCommerce & Node.js Sites Efficiently
Kevin HeinrichsI had 150 sites on cloudways and am in the process of moving them to xcloud. Much faster and better priced.
Dan SpinozaDear xCloud Team, I have been using xCloud for some time now and am genuinely impressed with its capabilities and the flexibility it offers by allowing users to bring their own VPS for management. It's a fantastic service, and my experience so far has been very positive. Successful migrated 5 sites on a single server. Xcloud migration tool worked great. There were few hiccups with security plugin like MalCare but disabling the plugin prior to migration worked just fine.
Rahil MaknojiaCame from runcloud. Tried xcloud and never came back.

Jorge de los Reyes MartínezI use Server Avatar and xCloud and I'll sooner use xCloud than Server Avatar personally.

Blaine MooreFrequently Asked Questions
Feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns you may have.
Which file formats can ConvertX convert?
Upstream says it supports over a thousand formats through bundled converters: FFmpeg for audio and video, ImageMagick, Vips and Inkscape for images, LibreOffice, Pandoc and Calibre for documents and ebooks, plus others. Check upstream's converter table for the exact pair you need.
Is ConvertX safe for private files?
Files stay on your own server. The template disables later registration and anonymous conversion and serves everything over HTTPS, and jobs plus their files are deleted after 24 hours by default. Create the first account immediately, because the first visitor can claim an unconfigured instance.
Does ConvertX need an account?
Yes. This template disables unauthenticated conversion and later registration, so people sign in with accounts. You register the first account on first visit, and ConvertX handles the credentials itself; xCloud does not generate or keep them.
Is there a file size limit in ConvertX?
Yes, one comes from the server: xCloud's nginx proxy currently limits a request body to 100 MB, so larger files cannot be uploaded through the public site. Big videos also need CPU and memory beyond the baseline, since hardware acceleration is not enabled.
Can I self-host ConvertX with Docker?
Yes, and this template is ConvertX Docker hosting done for you: the official image pinned by digest, one convertx_data volume mounted at /app/data, a generated JWT secret, and HTTPS from xCloud's nginx. There is no compose file to edit and no database sidecar.
What does ConvertX cloud hosting on xCloud include?
A dedicated Cloud VPS that we provision, patch and monitor, with the ConvertX container running, HTTPS on your domain and the session secret generated. The application, its accounts and its files are yours, and other apps can share the same server.
How much RAM does ConvertX need?
The catalog minimum is 1024 MB of RAM, one CPU core and 5 GB of disk. The 6 GB plan sits well above that, and the baseline runs one conversion at a time to ease memory pressure. Large files and LibreOffice or FFmpeg jobs can still need much more.
How do I update ConvertX?
Nothing updates itself: the template pins ConvertX 0.18.0 by tag and digest, and existing sites stay on their installed version. Before moving to a newer release, back up convertx_data, read upstream's release notes and test the upgrade and a restore on a disposable install.
What should I back up for ConvertX?
The whole convertx_data volume. It holds the SQLite database with its WAL state, account records and password hashes, and any retained uploads and outputs. Stop or quiesce the app before copying, encrypt the backup because files can be sensitive, and test a restore.
Is ConvertX free and open source?
Yes. ConvertX is released under AGPL-3.0 and publishes its source on GitHub. The bill from xCloud covers the Cloud VPS, not the converter, and you own the instance, its accounts and the files you convert.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. There is no lock-in — cancel any time. Hosting is billed monthly and charged for what you actually use, so when you delete the server the unused balance is refunded to your account, less up to 10% in payment-processing fees.
