Deploy Docassemble hosting and run guided interviews that turn answers into finished PDF and Word documents on your own domain, as a self-hosted guided interview and document assembly platform. xCloud runs the pinned Docassemble 1.10.13 all-in-one image with PostgreSQL, Redis and RabbitMQ built in, creates the administrator you choose, keeps backups on a persistent volume and publishes it over HTTPS.
Self-hosted Docassemble is an open-source platform for guided interviews and document assembly. The template README describes interviews written in YAML and Python that produce PDFs, Word documents and e-mails from the answers users give, and the project's licence file is MIT. It is a self-hosted alternative to document assembly products such as HotDocs, and its repository points to the docassemble website for documentation.
On xCloud the template runs docker.io/jhpyle/docassemble 1.10.13, pinned by digest, as one all-in-one container: nginx, uWSGI, Celery, PostgreSQL, Redis and RabbitMQ all run inside it under supervisord. The docassemble_backup volume holds periodic dumps and uploaded files. Public registration is off, uploads are limited to 16 MB by default, and the first start takes five to ten minutes.
A Docassemble server normally means a web stack, a database, a queue, background workers, a domain and a certificate before the first interview. This is the same result without assembling any of it.
Step 01
Create your xCloud account and pick Docassemble from the OneClick catalog. Choose your domain and target server, then enter the admin e-mail — the admin password can be generated for you.
Step 02
One click. We start the official Docassemble image, pinned by immutable digest, as a single container that runs PostgreSQL, Redis and RabbitMQ inside it, mount the docassemble_backup volume, create the first administrator, and publish it over HTTPS on your domain. The first start takes about 5 to 10 minutes.
Step 03
Open your HTTPS Docassemble URL and sign in with the admin e-mail and the password from the credentials card. Invite users from Admin > Users, then start writing interviews.
Docassemble runs in full here: a guided-interview server on your own domain, with its database, queue and workers inside the one container.
Write web interviews that collect answers step by step, with Python available to extend what an interview can do.
Present users with documents in PDF or DOCX format built from their answers, which they can download or e-mail.
PostgreSQL, Redis, RabbitMQ and the Celery background workers run inside the container, so there is nothing extra to set up.
Public registration is off. The admin invites users from Admin > Users, or opens sign-up under Admin > Configuration.
Interview data, uploaded files and generated documents survive an xCloud Restart; Docassemble writes a database dump, uploaded files and config.yml to the docassemble_backup volume.
Admins and developers can write and run Python in the Playground, so grant those roles only to people you trust.
Managed hosting for Docassemble, so the parts that keep it online are not your problem.
A legal aid group or firm builds a guided interview that asks a client questions step by step and assembles a PDF or Word document from the answers.
A developer writes interview logic in YAML and extends it with Python in the Playground, testing in the browser before inviting users to the live interview.
An organisation uses an interview to collect information and generate an e-mail with the results, once outgoing mail is configured under Admin, Configuration.
A team that handles sensitive answers hosts the platform itself, inviting users from the admin area and adding Basic Auth in front if the interviews should not be public.

xCloud works really well, I am surprised by its performance being this the release version, I have tried many paid platforms such as runcloud, cloudpages or serveravatar, as well as free platforms such as CyberPanel, CloudPanel or Hestia Control Panel and direct competitors such as SpinupWP and FlyWP. Of all those that I have tried, the platform that works best for WordPress is SpinupWP and I believe that xCloud can reach and surpass that development, its roadmap is promising. Congratulations to the xCloud team, I hope they become the leading platform in the segment, it has all the potential to achieve it!
Brian GeovannyI've been with runcloud for the last 3 years. However, after trying xcloud for the last month, I'm switching over. They are on a roll with their setup.
Kevin PinedaI'm moving my servers to xCloud, a cloud control panel by M Asif Rahman and the WPDeveloper team. Their roadmap looks interesting and no, there are no team mates nor API limits with xCloud! #xCloud #wordpress #hosting
Leo KooHow Cloud Nine Web Elevated Client Experience While Streamlining Hosting Operations using xCloud
Ed EllinghamxCloud is like having an expert server team on call — without the big agency costs. It's given me back my time and given my clients peace of mind. Highly recommended for freelancers and small teams who want reliable performance and security.
Dumitru ButucelxCloud isn't just a solution. It's like one of that friend who got your back when you screw things up pretty bad.
Waqar AhmedTrust me when I say, once people explore the potential of xCloud they gonna switch from other panels, just keep delivering the best tech, lots of love for the team 😍😍
Rahul SinghSo far my experience has been smooth like silk. I didn't imagine that configuring and managing a VPS would be so easy. As of today, I have deployed 8 sites. The support is good, and they treat users with respect, even if they ask stupid questions (myself included). For the future, I hope for greater flexibility in scheduled backups and more comprehensive and consistent documentation. I'm sure that within a few months, xCloud will become the leader in its segment. This community is amazing, and the Staff here is super helpful.
Massimo VillaCame from cloudways then to runcloud then to xcloud. Looks like I'm staying here.
Gerson ElI've recently taken all of my Vultr-hosted sites and gotten rid of cPanel for them to substitute it with xCloud. I have to say, I'm really impressed with xCloud so far! The interface is definitely the standout feature for me.
Tony LewisI came from Cloudways and won't go back. Highly impressed with xCloud. Glad I gave them a chance.
Jared McDowellI like xCloud better than RunCloud, but one thing I'll point out is that some years ago RunCloud was hungry for business, the support was outstanding, and the community was active and helped each other. Maybe it was sold, there was a change in management, or they stopped being hungry, but the quality of the RunCloud offering declined and it hasn't been moving forward quickly. My point is that currently the xCloud team has the edge and it is theirs to keep or lose
David McCanHow Kevin Heinrichs Cut Hosting Costs by 84% While Running WooCommerce & Node.js Sites Efficiently
Kevin HeinrichsI had 150 sites on cloudways and am in the process of moving them to xcloud. Much faster and better priced.
Dan SpinozaDear xCloud Team, I have been using xCloud for some time now and am genuinely impressed with its capabilities and the flexibility it offers by allowing users to bring their own VPS for management. It's a fantastic service, and my experience so far has been very positive. Successful migrated 5 sites on a single server. Xcloud migration tool worked great. There were few hiccups with security plugin like MalCare but disabling the plugin prior to migration worked just fine.
Rahil MaknojiaCame from runcloud. Tried xcloud and never came back.

Yes. The Docassemble repository carries an MIT licence file, so the platform costs nothing in licences. xCloud bills for the dedicated Cloud VPS that runs it. This template adds no paid tier, and documents it generates are not legal advice.
Yes, and this template does it for you: the docker.io/jhpyle/docassemble 1.10.13 image, pinned by digest, as one all-in-one container behind HTTPS with one backup volume. It is Docassemble Docker hosting without writing the compose file or setting up its internal services.
The floor is 4096 MB of RAM, so a Docassemble cloud install is sold on the 16 GB Cloud VPS. PostgreSQL, Redis, RabbitMQ, uWSGI and Celery workers all share the one container, so heavier interview use needs more.
Expect five to ten minutes on the first start. It runs the database setup, a package update and language-data downloads inside the container, and the container reports healthy once the health check returns 200. Later restarts are quicker.
The template README says interviews produce PDFs, Word documents and e-mails from the answers users give. Authors write the logic in YAML and Python. Outgoing mail defaults to a placeholder, so set up the mail section before relying on e-mail output.
Open your HTTPS URL and sign in with the admin e-mail and password from your credentials. The administrator is created on the first start only, so changing the environment later does not change the account. Public registration is off; invite users from Admin, Users.
Take a backup of the docassemble_backup volume. PostgreSQL and Redis live in the container filesystem; on a clean stop, and daily, Docassemble dumps the database and copies uploaded files and config.yml into that volume. After a hard crash the restore is skipped.
Treat upgrades as manual work. Docassemble 1.10.13 is fixed by digest and catalogue changes skip live sites. Back up the docassemble_backup volume first, read upstream's notes, then adopt a newer Docassemble template version when one is published, and test an interview end to end.
Only people you trust. Administrators and developers can run arbitrary Python through the Playground and package installation, so grant those roles sparingly. There is no Basic Auth in front of the site, and uploads are limited to 16 MB by default, which you can raise up to the proxy's 100 MB.
Yes. There is no lock-in — cancel any time. Hosting is billed monthly and charged for what you actually use, so when you delete the server the unused balance is refunded to your account, less up to 10% in payment-processing fees.
Connect your first server in minutes. No plan you have to grow into.
