Deploy Apache Guacamole hosting and run a self-hosted remote desktop gateway for RDP, VNC and SSH sessions in a browser on a dedicated Cloud VPS. xCloud starts the pinned Guacamole 1.6.0 web application with a private guacd daemon and PostgreSQL database, replaces the well-known guacadmin password with a generated one and serves the gateway over HTTPS on your domain, with no install form to fill in.
Apache Guacamole is an HTML5 web application that provides access to your desktop using remote desktop protocols. It is a clientless remote desktop gateway: users open a browser, and Guacamole reaches systems that expose RDP, VNC or SSH on their behalf through its guacd daemon. Run on your own server it is a self-hosted Apache Guacamole, the alternative to a hosted remote-access service such as TeamViewer, under the Apache-2.0 licence.
On xCloud it is deployed as three services pinned by digest: the guacamole 1.6.0 web application, a private guacd 1.6.0 daemon and a private PostgreSQL 15.14 database, with an init step that replaces the default admin password. It ships no remote desktop server, so you point it at machines that already exist.
A Guacamole install normally means a web application, the guacd proxy daemon, a PostgreSQL schema, a default admin password to replace, a domain and a certificate before the first connection. This is the same result without assembling any of it.
Step 01
Create your xCloud account and pick Apache Guacamole from the OneClick catalog. Choose a domain and a server; the install form has no application fields, because xCloud generates the admin and database passwords.
Step 02
One click. We start guacamole 1.6.0, guacd 1.6.0 and postgres 15.14, all pinned by digest, mount guacamole_postgres_data and guacamole_initdb, replace the default guacadmin password before the web service starts and publish HTTPS.
Step 03
Sign in as guacadmin with the generated password, open Settings, then Connections and add a trusted RDP, VNC or SSH endpoint. Grant each connection only to the users or groups that need it.
Apache Guacamole 1.6.0 runs here as a browser gateway, with users, permissions and connection definitions kept in a PostgreSQL volume you own.
Guacamole is an HTML5 web application, so users reach remote desktops from a browser with no client software to install.
Add connections to systems that expose RDP, VNC or SSH. The template bundles no remote desktop server, so the targets must already exist.
The guacd proxy daemon performs no authentication, so it stays on the private network with no published port.
Upstream's schema ships a guacadmin account with a public default password. The template swaps in a generated one before the web service starts.
Grant each connection only to the users or groups that need it, and review connection history from the administrator interface.
Users, permissions, connection definitions and history live in a private PostgreSQL database on the guacamole_postgres_data volume.
Managed hosting for Apache Guacamole, so the parts that keep it online are not your problem.
Give staff access to RDP, VNC and SSH hosts through one HTTPS address, with nothing to install on their laptops.
Define connections once and grant each to chosen users or groups, so people see only the systems they need.
Open an SSH terminal in the browser for machines that are only reachable from the Guacamole network.
Review connection history from the administrator interface, noting that session recording storage is not enabled in this template.

xCloud works really well, I am surprised by its performance being this the release version, I have tried many paid platforms such as runcloud, cloudpages or serveravatar, as well as free platforms such as CyberPanel, CloudPanel or Hestia Control Panel and direct competitors such as SpinupWP and FlyWP. Of all those that I have tried, the platform that works best for WordPress is SpinupWP and I believe that xCloud can reach and surpass that development, its roadmap is promising. Congratulations to the xCloud team, I hope they become the leading platform in the segment, it has all the potential to achieve it!
Brian GeovannyI've been with runcloud for the last 3 years. However, after trying xcloud for the last month, I'm switching over. They are on a roll with their setup.
Kevin PinedaI'm moving my servers to xCloud, a cloud control panel by M Asif Rahman and the WPDeveloper team. Their roadmap looks interesting and no, there are no team mates nor API limits with xCloud! #xCloud #wordpress #hosting
Leo KooHow Cloud Nine Web Elevated Client Experience While Streamlining Hosting Operations using xCloud
Ed EllinghamxCloud is like having an expert server team on call — without the big agency costs. It's given me back my time and given my clients peace of mind. Highly recommended for freelancers and small teams who want reliable performance and security.
Dumitru ButucelxCloud isn't just a solution. It's like one of that friend who got your back when you screw things up pretty bad.
Waqar AhmedTrust me when I say, once people explore the potential of xCloud they gonna switch from other panels, just keep delivering the best tech, lots of love for the team 😍😍
Rahul SinghSo far my experience has been smooth like silk. I didn't imagine that configuring and managing a VPS would be so easy. As of today, I have deployed 8 sites. The support is good, and they treat users with respect, even if they ask stupid questions (myself included). For the future, I hope for greater flexibility in scheduled backups and more comprehensive and consistent documentation. I'm sure that within a few months, xCloud will become the leader in its segment. This community is amazing, and the Staff here is super helpful.
Massimo VillaCame from cloudways then to runcloud then to xcloud. Looks like I'm staying here.
Gerson ElI've recently taken all of my Vultr-hosted sites and gotten rid of cPanel for them to substitute it with xCloud. I have to say, I'm really impressed with xCloud so far! The interface is definitely the standout feature for me.
Tony LewisI came from Cloudways and won't go back. Highly impressed with xCloud. Glad I gave them a chance.
Jared McDowellI like xCloud better than RunCloud, but one thing I'll point out is that some years ago RunCloud was hungry for business, the support was outstanding, and the community was active and helped each other. Maybe it was sold, there was a change in management, or they stopped being hungry, but the quality of the RunCloud offering declined and it hasn't been moving forward quickly. My point is that currently the xCloud team has the edge and it is theirs to keep or lose
David McCanHow Kevin Heinrichs Cut Hosting Costs by 84% While Running WooCommerce & Node.js Sites Efficiently
Kevin HeinrichsI had 150 sites on cloudways and am in the process of moving them to xcloud. Much faster and better priced.
Dan SpinozaDear xCloud Team, I have been using xCloud for some time now and am genuinely impressed with its capabilities and the flexibility it offers by allowing users to bring their own VPS for management. It's a fantastic service, and my experience so far has been very positive. Successful migrated 5 sites on a single server. Xcloud migration tool worked great. There were few hiccups with security plugin like MalCare but disabling the plugin prior to migration worked just fine.
Rahil MaknojiaCame from runcloud. Tried xcloud and never came back.

Gary MoodyxCloud gave me what no other hosting platform could: the flexibility of a VPS with the convenience of managed WordPress. As a solo founder running an entire business on one server, that combination is an important unfair advantage.
Jorge de los Reyes MartínezI use Server Avatar and xCloud and I'll sooner use xCloud than Server Avatar personally.

Yes, and this template is Apache Guacamole Docker hosting without the compose file: guacamole, guacd and PostgreSQL images pinned by digest, two named volumes and an HTTPS route to the web interface on port 8080. Upstream's manual documents the Docker deployment.
No. The template deploys only the gateway. The RDP, VNC or SSH machines you configure must already exist and be reachable from the Guacamole container network. Guacamole connects to them on behalf of browser users.
The user is guacadmin. Upstream's schema gives that account a well-known default password, but this template replaces it with a unique generated one before the web service starts. Rotate it through Guacamole afterwards and use a least-privilege account for routine work.
This template's documentation covers RDP, VNC and SSH, the systems the gateway reaches for browser users. Upstream's manual lists others, and extra authentication methods, but none is preconfigured here, so check the manual for what you need.
No. The guacd daemon performs no authentication and is intentionally private, as is PostgreSQL. Only the web interface is published through xCloud's proxy, so never publish port 4822 or add a route to guacd yourself.
The template manifest asks for 2048 MB of RAM, 1 CPU core and 10 GB of disk for the web application, guacd and PostgreSQL. This page sells the 6 GB tier, which leaves headroom above that floor.
Yes. Apache Guacamole is released under the Apache-2.0 licence, so the gateway itself is free software. The server it runs on is the only cost here, and the remote machines you connect to may be covered by their own licences, such as Windows.
Back up the guacamole_postgres_data volume, which holds users, permissions, connection definitions and history, and protect the generated database credential with it. guacamole_initdb holds the schema copy. The platform takes no automatic copy of the database, so schedule your own and test it.
Nothing upgrades itself: 1.6.0 and PostgreSQL 15.14 are pinned by digest. Guacamole database upgrades may need ordered upstream SQL migrations, so when a newer template version is published, read the release-specific upgrade notes, take a database backup, then adopt that version.
It is Apache Guacamole on a dedicated Cloud VPS under your xCloud login, a Guacamole cloud of your own at your domain. Add only trusted endpoints and restrict each connection to the users who need it.
Yes. There is no lock-in — cancel any time. Hosting is billed monthly and charged for what you actually use, so when you delete the server the unused balance is refunded to your account, less up to 10% in payment-processing fees.
Connect your first server in minutes. No plan you have to grow into.
