LiteParse Hosting Live In 5 Minutes

Deploy LiteParse hosting and give your pipelines a private document parsing API on your own domain. xCloud runs the official LiteParse server image, pinned by digest, behind an nginx gateway that requires a generated API key, and publishes it over HTTPS in minutes — PDFs, DOCX and scans come back as text, markdown or JSON pages without leaving your server.

What is LiteParse?

LiteParse is an open-source document parser from the LlamaIndex team. It focuses on fast, light parsing: spatial text extraction with bounding boxes, selective OCR for scanned pages, and output as markdown, JSON or plain text. Upstream describes it as running locally, without proprietary LLM features or cloud dependencies.

LiteParse server wraps the parser as an HTTP service, which is useful when your application is not written in Node.js, when several clients should share one parsing instance, or when you want a parsing endpoint behind your own infrastructure. This template runs the slim server image: one parser container with no database or cache, behind an API-key gateway.

From Sign-Up to a Live Parsing API In Just 3 Easy Steps

A self-hosted parser normally means a container, a gateway to keep it from being open to the internet, an API key, a domain and a certificate before the first document. This is the same result without assembling any of it.

  1. Step 01

Create your xCloud account and pick LiteParse from the OneClick catalog. Choose your domain and target server — there are no extra fields to fill in.

  2. Step 02

    We Deploy It For You

One click. We bring up the official LiteParse server image, pinned by immutable digest and kept private, behind an nginx gateway that is the only published service. xCloud generates the API key and publishes the gateway over HTTPS on your domain. There is no data volume: documents are processed in memory.

  3. Step 03

    Send Your First Document

Copy the API key from the installation credentials, then POST a file: curl -H "Authorization: Bearer <key>" -F file=@document.pdf "https://your-domain/parse?markdown=true". There is no web page — LiteParse is an API.

Everything LiteParse Does, On Your Own Server

LiteParse runs in full here: a parsing API on your own domain, protected by a key only you hold.

  • PDFs, Office Files And Images

Upstream reads PDF, DOCX, XLSX, PPTX and image files; QA verified PDF, DOCX and a scanned PDF. Office conversion uses LibreOffice inside the image.

  • Text, Markdown Or JSON Pages

One multipart POST to /parse returns JSON pages; add ?text=true or ?markdown=true for plain text or markdown that is ready for LLM and RAG pipelines.

  • Built-In OCR

Image-only scans are read with the bundled Tesseract OCR, verified on a scanned PDF. OCR, DPI and page limits are set per request in the optional config field.

  • Screenshots And OCR-Need Estimates

/screenshots returns page images as newline-delimited JSON, and /is-complex estimates per page whether a document needs advanced OCR.

  • Key-Protected Gateway

Every request needs the generated API key as a Bearer token; requests without it get a 401. The gateway also rate limits clients, caps uploads at 50 MB and times out slow calls.

  • Stateless By Design

Uploads are processed in memory and nothing is written to disk, so a Restart simply brings the same API back.

Everything You Need To Run Your Document Parsing API 24/7

Managed hosting for LiteParse, so the parts that keep it online are not your problem.

  • LiteParse deployed instantly
  • Official image pinned by digest
  • API key generated for you
  • Kept behind xCloud nginx
  • Free SSL certificate
  • Server backups and snapshots
  • Server security updates included
  • 30+ server locations
  • Unused balance refunded

What You Can Do With LiteParse

  • Feed documents to LLM and RAG pipelines

Convert PDFs, Office files and images to markdown or plain text through one request, without sending the files to a third-party service.

  • Read scanned documents

Pull text out of image-only scans with built-in OCR, and tune OCR, DPI and page limits per request.

  • Route documents by OCR need

Call /is-complex for a per-page estimate of whether a document needs advanced OCR before you decide how to process it.

  • Give an agent page images

Fetch page screenshots through /screenshots when a model or reviewer needs to see the page, not just its text.

LiteParse vs Alternatives

Docling Serve
Another document conversion API that turns PDFs, Office files and images into structured Markdown or JSON. xCloud also runs it as a OneClick app.
Unstructured API
An HTTP API that partitions PDFs, Office files, images and text into structured JSON for search and AI ingestion pipelines. Also available as a OneClick app.
LlamaParse
LlamaIndex's cloud-based document parser. Upstream recommends it over local LiteParse for dense tables, multi-column layouts, charts, handwriting and scanned PDFs; LiteParse is the self-hosted, local option.

See why agencies, developers, startups, and growing businesses choose xCloud to power their projects.

xCloud works really well, I am surprised by its performance being this the release version, I have tried many paid platforms such as runcloud, cloudpages or serveravatar, as well as free platforms such as CyberPanel, CloudPanel or Hestia Control Panel and direct competitors such as SpinupWP and FlyWP. Of all those that I have tried, the platform that works best for WordPress is SpinupWP and I believe that xCloud can reach and surpass that development, its roadmap is promising. Congratulations to the xCloud team, I hope they become the leading platform in the segment, it has all the potential to achieve it!
Brian Geovanny
I've been with runcloud for the last 3 years. However, after trying xcloud for the last month, I'm switching over. They are on a roll with their setup.
Kevin Pineda
I'm moving my servers to xCloud, a cloud control panel by M Asif Rahman and the WPDeveloper team. Their roadmap looks interesting and no, there are no team mates nor API limits with xCloud! #xCloud #wordpress #hosting

xCloud is like having an expert server team on call — without the big agency costs. It's given me back my time and given my clients peace of mind. Highly recommended for freelancers and small teams who want reliable performance and security.

xCloud isn't just a solution. It's like one of that friend who got your back when you screw things up pretty bad.

Trust me when I say, once people explore the potential of xCloud they gonna switch from other panels, just keep delivering the best tech, lots of love for the team 😍😍

So far my experience has been smooth like silk. I didn't imagine that configuring and managing a VPS would be so easy. As of today, I have deployed 8 sites. The support is good, and they treat users with respect, even if they ask stupid questions (myself included). For the future, I hope for greater flexibility in scheduled backups and more comprehensive and consistent documentation. I'm sure that within a few months, xCloud will become the leader in its segment. This community is amazing, and the Staff here is super helpful.

Came from cloudways then to runcloud then to xcloud. Looks like I'm staying here.
Gerson El
I've recently taken all of my Vultr-hosted sites and gotten rid of cPanel for them to substitute it with xCloud. I have to say, I'm really impressed with xCloud so far! The interface is definitely the standout feature for me.
Tony Lewis
I came from Cloudways and won't go back. Highly impressed with xCloud. Glad I gave them a chance.
Jared McDowell
I like xCloud better than RunCloud, but one thing I'll point out is that some years ago RunCloud was hungry for business, the support was outstanding, and the community was active and helped each other. Maybe it was sold, there was a change in management, or they stopped being hungry, but the quality of the RunCloud offering declined and it hasn't been moving forward quickly. My point is that currently the xCloud team has the edge and it is theirs to keep or lose

Dear xCloud Team, I have been using xCloud for some time now and am genuinely impressed with its capabilities and the flexibility it offers by allowing users to bring their own VPS for management. It's a fantastic service, and my experience so far has been very positive. Successful migrated 5 sites on a single server. Xcloud migration tool worked great. There were few hiccups with security plugin like MalCare but disabling the plugin prior to migration worked just fine.

Frequently Asked Questions

Feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns you may have.

How do I authenticate?

Send the generated API key as a Bearer token on every request: Authorization: Bearer <key>. Anonymous and wrong-key requests get a 401. The key is shown in the installation credentials.

Is there a web interface?

No. LiteParse is an API; use curl or your own code against /parse, /screenshots and /is-complex.

Does it keep my documents?

No. Uploads are processed in memory only and nothing is written to disk.

What file types work?

Upstream lists PDF, DOCX, XLSX, PPTX and images. QA verified PDF, DOCX and a scanned, image-only PDF; Office conversion uses LibreOffice inside the image.

How do I set OCR, DPI or page limits?

Parser options are sent per request as a JSON string in the optional config form field. The server itself reads no environment settings.

What limits does the gateway apply?

It caps uploads at 50 MB, times requests out after 60 seconds and limits each client to about 5 requests per second.

Who should hold the API key?

Only callers you trust. Anyone with the key can use your server's resources and can set an OCR server URL in the config field, which makes the server call that address. LiteParse has no setting to restrict this, so the key is the protection.

What should I back up?

Nothing but the API key: there is no data volume. Keep the key private.

What survives a restart?

The API comes back the same, because it is stateless. No documents or results are stored.

Does xCloud automatically update LiteParse?

No. Upstream publishes only a moving main tag for the server image, so the template pins it by immutable digest. Existing sites are not upgraded automatically; updating means moving to a new digest after reading upstream's release notes. Server-level backups and snapshots are available on every Cloud VPS.

What are the server requirements, and why does this page sell 6 GB?

The template's baseline asks for 1 CPU core, 512 MB of RAM and 4 GB of disk; measured peak use in QA was about 200 MiB across PDF, DOCX and OCR parses. The server buffers each whole upload in memory, so large files need proportionally more. This page sells the 6 GB tier as the entry rung, with real headroom above that baseline.

Is xCloud officially partnered with LiteParse?

No. No official partnership or endorsement between xCloud and the LiteParse project or LlamaIndex has been verified. This is a deployment and server-management option for the open-source LiteParse project.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. There is no lock-in — cancel any time. Hosting is billed monthly and charged for what you actually use, so when you delete the server the unused balance is refunded to your account, less up to 10% in payment-processing fees.
