What is LLDAP?

LLDAP is a free, open-source, lightweight identity directory with a browser-based administration interface and an LDAP-compatible service for private application integrations. This template deploys version 0.6.3.

Is LLDAP free?

Yes — it is free and open source under the GNU GPL-3.0 license. What you pay xCloud for is the dedicated server it runs on and the management around it, not the application itself.

Can I self-host LLDAP?

Yes — that is exactly what this template deploys. It brings up the vendor-published LLDAP 0.6.3 image pinned by immutable digest, mounts its persistent data volume and publishes the web interface over HTTPS on your domain in minutes instead of assembled by hand.

How do I sign in?

As admin. The username is fixed — there is no username field to choose at deploy time. xCloud generates the administrator password during installation and shows it once in your xCloud credential panel.

What does xCloud configure automatically?

The generated administrator password, the stable JWT secret and key seed, the persistent lldap_data volume, the domain and the HTTPS route. Only the LLDAP web interface is published through xCloud-managed ingress.

Does LLDAP expose LDAP or LDAPS to the internet?

No, not by default. This template keeps LDAP traffic private to the managed server. Only the web administration interface is reverse-proxied over xCloud-managed HTTPS. Connecting another host to LLDAP over LDAP requires you to deliberately provide a secured private network path — xCloud does not set one up for you, and this template does not enable automatic TLS on the LDAP port itself.

Does LLDAP support SSO or OIDC?

This template configures LDAP-compatible directory access only. It does not set up single sign-on, OIDC, or SAML federation — those are not part of this deployment.

What should I back up?

The lldap_data volume, together with the stable JWT secret and key seed from the Environment editor. Restore them as one coordinated set so encrypted directory state, sessions, users, and groups remain usable.

Can I change the LDAP Base DN later?

You can, but choose it before connecting any clients. Changing the LDAP Base DN after applications are already pointed at your directory requires coordinated updates on every one of those clients.

Does xCloud automatically back up or update LLDAP?

No. The template pins LLDAP 0.6.3 by immutable digest; a catalog re-sync affects new installations only. Review upstream release notes and take a verified backup before changing the pinned release.

What are the server requirements?

The template manifest asks for 512 MB of RAM, 1 CPU core and 3 GB of disk as a floor — LLDAP is lightweight. This page sells the same 6 GB tier as every other OneClick app, well above what LLDAP itself needs, so there's room for other work on the same server.

What survives a restart?

Everything on lldap_data, because it is a persistent named volume. A restart does not touch existing users, groups, or directory configuration.

Is xCloud officially partnered with LLDAP?

No. No official partnership or endorsement between xCloud and the LLDAP project has been verified. This is a deployment and server-management option for the open-source LLDAP project.

Can I run other apps on the same server?

Yes. It is a dedicated Cloud VPS, not a locked appliance, so you can deploy other OneClick apps or your own sites beside it as long as the resources are there.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. There is no lock-in — cancel any time. Hosting is billed monthly and charged for what you actually use, so when you delete the server the unused balance is refunded to your account, less up to 10% in payment-processing fees.
