What is SQLPage?

SQLPage is an SQL-only webapp builder. Upstream describes building data-centric user interfaces by transforming simple database queries into interactive websites: you write .sql files that select, insert, update and delete data, and you get pages with text, lists, grids, plots and forms. A self-hosted SQLPage is an alternative to low-code app builders for people who already think in SQL, released under the MIT licence, with component examples in its upstream documentation.

Is my SQLPage application protected by a login?

Yes. A Caddy gateway puts Basic Auth in front of every application route with your username and a generated password. Only /healthz answers without a login, with a static readiness response, and SQLPage itself is never published.

Which database does the SQLPage template use?

An embedded SQLite database stored in the sqlpage_config volume. No external database such as PostgreSQL or MySQL is bundled or configured, so the template is a starting point for small apps and prototypes, not a database server.

Can I add my own SQL pages?

Yes, but carefully. The restart refreshes only the two baseline starter files and leaves your data intact. Add pages to sqlpage_web, keep authentication in front of every route, and validate changes against a backup first.

Can you self-host SQLPage with Docker?

Yes. SQLPage ships an official image, and this template is SQLPage Docker hosting without the setup: the 0.46.0 image and a Caddy gateway pinned by digest, two volumes and HTTPS on your own domain, on a server that you control.

How much RAM does SQLPage need?

The manifest floor is 1024 MB of RAM, one core and 10 GB of disk. Query complexity, result size, concurrent users and database growth set real capacity, so measure your workload and raise resources if needed.

How do I change the SQLPage password?

Update SQLPAGE_PASSWORD in the Environment editor, save and use Restart or Redeploy. Keep it stable otherwise, so existing users can authenticate. Browsers holding the old Basic Auth credential will need to sign in again, and so will any scripts.

Is SQLPage open source?

Yes. SQLPage is MIT licensed, and the Caddy gateway is Apache-2.0, so the software is free to run. You pay only for the Cloud VPS, which makes this a SQLPage cloud of your own rather than a hosted builder.

How do I back up SQLPage?

Back up sqlpage_web and sqlpage_config together while writes are stopped. The first holds your SQL application files, and the second holds migrations, configuration and the SQLite database. Restore both as one set and test it.

How do I upgrade SQLPage?

The install stays on its pinned 0.46.0 image until you adopt a newer template version. Copy both volumes, read the upstream release and migration notes, and verify the starter form and table afterwards. Nothing upgrades automatically.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. There is no lock-in — cancel any time. Hosting is billed monthly and charged for what you actually use, so when you delete the server the unused balance is refunded to your account, less up to 10% in payment-processing fees.
