DataLens Hosting Live In 5 Minutes

Deploy DataLens hosting and give your team self-hosted BI dashboards on your own domain. xCloud runs the pinned DataLens v2.9.0 stack with private internal services and PostgreSQL, generates the admin password, mounts persistent volumes and publishes the web UI over HTTPS — it starts with a demo workbook you can open straight away.

What is DataLens?

DataLens is an open-source business intelligence and data visualization system. You connect a database, describe its tables as datasets, build charts on top of them and arrange the charts into dashboards you can share with your team.

It was developed and used as a primary BI tool at Yandex and is also offered as part of Yandex Cloud; the open-source release is licensed under Apache-2.0 and runs as a set of services, which this template starts for you.

From Sign-Up to Your First Chart In Just 3 Easy Steps

A DataLens install normally means authentication, storage, query APIs, a workflow engine and a database, plus signing keys, a domain and a certificate before the first chart. This is the same result without assembling any of it.

  1. Step 01

Create your xCloud account and pick DataLens from the OneClick catalog. Choose your domain and target server — there are no extra fields to fill in, because xCloud generates the credentials.

  2. Step 02

    We Deploy It For You

One click. We start the DataLens services from official images pinned by immutable digest, keep every service except the web UI private with no host ports, mount the datalens_postgres and datalens_keys volumes, generate the admin password and publish the UI over HTTPS on your domain. Allow about five minutes for the first start.

  3. Step 03

Sign In And Build A Chart

Save the admin password from the protected installation credentials, open your HTTPS DataLens URL and sign in as admin. Open the demo workbook, then add a connection to your own database and build a first chart.

Everything DataLens Does, On Your Own Server

DataLens runs in full here: connections, datasets, charts and dashboards on your own domain, stored in a database you own.

  • Charts And Dashboards

Build charts on top of your datasets and assemble them into dashboards you can share with your team.

  • Connect Your Own Databases

Add a connection to PostgreSQL, MySQL, ClickHouse and the other database and API connectors the connector list offers, then describe the data as datasets.

  • A Demo Workbook To Start From

The first start loads a workbook of example charts, datasets and a dashboard, so there is something to open before you connect your own data.

  • Admin-Created Accounts Only

Self-registration is switched off, so only accounts the admin creates can sign in.

  • Private Internal Services

Authentication, storage, the query APIs, the workflow engine and PostgreSQL are reachable only inside the install's private network, with no published ports.

  • Work That Survives A Restart

Workbooks, datasets, charts and saved connections live on persistent volumes and were still present after an xCloud Restart in QA.

Everything You Need To Run Your BI Dashboards 24/7

Managed hosting for DataLens, so the parts that keep it online are not your problem.

  • DataLens v2.9.0 deployed instantly
  • Official images pinned by digest
  • Admin password generated for you
  • Internal services kept private
  • Free SSL certificate
  • Server backups and snapshots
  • Server security updates included
  • 30+ server locations
  • Unused balance refunded

What You Can Do With DataLens

  • Dashboards over your own databases

Point DataLens at the PostgreSQL, MySQL or ClickHouse database your product already writes to and give the team charts without exporting data.

  • A shared reporting home for a team

Keep datasets, charts and dashboards in workbooks that colleagues sign in to, with accounts created by the admin.

  • Keep reporting data on your own server

Run the BI layer on a server you control, so saved connections and the data behind the charts stay in your own installation.

  • Try BI on real data before committing

Open the bundled demo workbook of example charts, datasets and a dashboard, then add a connection of your own.

See why agencies, developers, startups, and growing businesses choose xCloud to power their projects.

xCloud works really well, I am surprised by its performance being this the release version, I have tried many paid platforms such as runcloud, cloudpages or serveravatar, as well as free platforms such as CyberPanel, CloudPanel or Hestia Control Panel and direct competitors such as SpinupWP and FlyWP. Of all those that I have tried, the platform that works best for WordPress is SpinupWP and I believe that xCloud can reach and surpass that development, its roadmap is promising. Congratulations to the xCloud team, I hope they become the leading platform in the segment, it has all the potential to achieve it!
Brian Geovanny
I've been with runcloud for the last 3 years. However, after trying xcloud for the last month, I'm switching over. They are on a roll with their setup.

I'm moving my servers to xCloud, a cloud control panel by M Asif Rahman and the WPDeveloper team. Their roadmap looks interesting and no, there are no team mates nor API limits with xCloud! #xCloud #wordpress #hosting

xCloud is like having an expert server team on call — without the big agency costs. It's given me back my time and given my clients peace of mind. Highly recommended for freelancers and small teams who want reliable performance and security.

xCloud isn't just a solution. It's like one of that friend who got your back when you screw things up pretty bad.

Trust me when I say, once people explore the potential of xCloud they gonna switch from other panels, just keep delivering the best tech, lots of love for the team 😍😍

So far my experience has been smooth like silk. I didn't imagine that configuring and managing a VPS would be so easy. As of today, I have deployed 8 sites. The support is good, and they treat users with respect, even if they ask stupid questions (myself included). For the future, I hope for greater flexibility in scheduled backups and more comprehensive and consistent documentation. I'm sure that within a few months, xCloud will become the leader in its segment. This community is amazing, and the Staff here is super helpful.

Came from cloudways then to runcloud then to xcloud. Looks like I'm staying here.
Gerson El
I've recently taken all of my Vultr-hosted sites and gotten rid of cPanel for them to substitute it with xCloud. I have to say, I'm really impressed with xCloud so far! The interface is definitely the standout feature for me.
Tony Lewis
I came from Cloudways and won't go back. Highly impressed with xCloud. Glad I gave them a chance.
Jared McDowell
I like xCloud better than RunCloud, but one thing I'll point out is that some years ago RunCloud was hungry for business, the support was outstanding, and the community was active and helped each other. Maybe it was sold, there was a change in management, or they stopped being hungry, but the quality of the RunCloud offering declined and it hasn't been moving forward quickly. My point is that currently the xCloud team has the edge and it is theirs to keep or lose

Dear xCloud Team, I have been using xCloud for some time now and am genuinely impressed with its capabilities and the flexibility it offers by allowing users to bring their own VPS for management. It's a fantastic service, and my experience so far has been very positive. Successful migrated 5 sites on a single server. Xcloud migration tool worked great. There were few hiccups with security plugin like MalCare but disabling the plugin prior to migration worked just fine.

Frequently Asked Questions

Feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns you may have.

How do I sign in?

Use the admin username and the generated password shown in the protected installation credentials. Keep the password private and change it inside DataLens.

Can anyone register?

No. Self-registration is disabled, so only accounts the admin creates can sign in.

What runs alongside the web UI?

Authentication, storage, the control and data query APIs, a metadata manager, a workflow engine, a key generator and PostgreSQL. All of them are private to the install and none has a host port.

What does the demo workbook contain?

Example charts, datasets and a dashboard, loaded on the first start so there is something to open before you connect your own database.

Which databases can I connect?

PostgreSQL, MySQL, ClickHouse and the other connectors the connector list offers. CSV and Excel file connections are not enabled in this template.

Why does the first start take a few minutes?

The first start creates the internal databases, loads the demo workbook and generates the signing keys, so allow about five minutes before the page loads.

Who should be allowed to create connections?

Grant that right carefully. A user who can create connections can point DataLens at any database the server can reach, including the internal ones that hold DataLens's own data.

What should I back up?

Both volumes together: datalens_postgres (all application data) and datalens_keys (the signing and connection-encryption keys). Saved connection passwords cannot be decrypted without the keys.

What survives a restart?

Workbooks, datasets, charts and saved connections on the persistent volumes — a saved chart was still listed after a full xCloud Restart in QA.

Does xCloud automatically back up or update DataLens?

No. The template pins every image by tag and immutable digest; new installations use the pinned release, existing sites are not automatically upgraded. Back up first, read the upstream release notes, then bump the image tags and digests together on your own schedule. Server-level backups and snapshots are available on every Cloud VPS.

What are the server requirements, and why does this page sell 6 GB?

The template's baseline asks for 2 CPU cores, 3072 MB of RAM and 10 GB of disk; measured use in QA was about 2.5 GB idle and about 3 GB after a full restart, so do not go below 3 GB. This page sells the 6 GB tier as the entry rung, which leaves headroom above that baseline.

Is xCloud officially partnered with DataLens?

No. No official partnership or endorsement between xCloud and the DataLens project has been verified. This is a deployment and server-management option for the open-source DataLens project.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. There is no lock-in — cancel any time. Hosting is billed monthly and charged for what you actually use, so when you delete the server the unused balance is refunded to your account, less up to 10% in payment-processing fees.
