eKuiper Hosting Live In 5 Minutes

Deploy eKuiper hosting and run a self-hosted IoT stream processing engine on your own domain, with SQL rules managed from a web console. xCloud runs the pinned eKuiper 2.4.2 engine with the eKuiper manager 1.9.5 console pre-connected to it, generates the admin password, mounts four persistent volumes and publishes the console over HTTPS in minutes; the engine's REST API stays on the private network.

What is eKuiper?

Self-hosted eKuiper is a lightweight IoT data analytics and stream processing engine from LF Edge. Its README describes a streaming framework similar to Apache Flink for edge devices, with SQL rules, data ETL, grouping, aggregation, joins, more than 60 functions, time windows and extension with Golang or Python. It reads from MQTT, HTTP and files and writes to sinks such as MQTT, REST endpoints, files and databases, and it stands in for a hosted stream-processing service.

On xCloud the template runs the lfedge/ekuiper 2.4.2 engine with the eKuiper manager 1.9.5 console, both pinned by immutable digest, with four named volumes. The manager is the only public entry, over HTTPS, and signs in with a generated admin password. The engine's REST API is private and has no login of its own.

From Sign-Up to a Live Rules Console In Just 3 Easy Steps

An eKuiper stack normally means an engine, a manager console wired to it, replaced default credentials, volumes, a domain and a certificate before the first rule. This is the same result without assembling any of it.

  1. Step 01

Create your xCloud account and pick eKuiper from the OneClick catalog. Choose your domain and target server — there are no extra fields to fill in.

  2. Step 02

    We Deploy It For You

One click. We bring up the eKuiper 2.4.2 engine and the eKuiper manager 1.9.5 console, both upstream images pinned by immutable digest, keep the engine's REST API private, mount the ekuiper_data, ekuiper_log, ekuiper_plugins and manager_data volumes, generate the admin password and publish the console over HTTPS on your domain.

  3. Step 03

Create A Stream And A Rule

Open your HTTPS eKuiper URL and sign in as admin with the password from the protected credentials. Then create a stream and write a SQL rule from the console.

Everything eKuiper Does, On Your Own Server

eKuiper runs here as upstream ships it: an SQL rules engine for streaming data with a web console in front, on a server you control.

  • SQL Rules On Streaming Data

Write SQL rules that filter and transform streaming data as it arrives from your sources.

  • Many Sources

Read from MQTT, HTTP pull, files and other built-in sources.

  • Route To Sinks

Send results to sinks such as MQTT, REST endpoints, files and databases.

  • Manager Web Console

Manage streams and rules from the eKuiper manager console, already connected to the engine.

  • Generated Admin Password

The manager's well-known default login is rejected; sign in as admin with the generated password, which you can change from the console user menu.

  • Small Footprint

The engine and console idle at roughly 20 MB combined, and the template's baseline is 1 CPU core, 256 MB of RAM and 2 GB of disk.

Everything You Need To Run Your SQL Stream Processing 24/7

Managed hosting for eKuiper, so the parts that keep it online are not your problem.

  • eKuiper 2.4.2 deployed instantly
  • Upstream images pinned by digest
  • Admin password generated for you
  • Engine API kept private
  • Free SSL certificate
  • Server backups and snapshots
  • Server security updates included
  • 30+ server locations
  • Unused balance refunded

What You Can Do With eKuiper

  • Filter noisy device data

Write SQL rules that drop or reshape readings from MQTT topics before they reach storage or other systems.

  • Transform streams in flight

Reshape streaming data with SQL and built-in functions, then forward the result to an MQTT topic, REST endpoint, file or database.

  • Manage rules from a console

Create and edit streams and rules in the eKuiper manager instead of calling the engine's REST API by hand.

  • Run a small edge pipeline on one server

The engine and console idled at roughly 20 MB combined in QA, so a pipeline fits on a modest server beside other apps.

eKuiper vs Alternatives

Hosted stream-processing services
A hosted service keeps your rules and data flow with a vendor. eKuiper is Apache-2.0 licensed, and here the engine, rules and console run on your own Cloud VPS.
Node-RED
Node-RED has its own xCloud template and builds event-driven flows in a visual editor, while eKuiper expresses filtering and transformation as SQL rules.
Apache Flink
The eKuiper README compares itself to Apache Flink, a distributed stream-processing framework, and aims the same style of processing at resource-constrained edge devices.
Custom scripts
A script that subscribes to MQTT and filters messages is quick to start, but eKuiper adds SQL rules, windows, built-in functions, sinks and a console, so the logic stays declarative.

See why agencies, developers, startups, and growing businesses choose xCloud to power their projects.

xCloud works really well, I am surprised by its performance being this the release version, I have tried many paid platforms such as runcloud, cloudpages or serveravatar, as well as free platforms such as CyberPanel, CloudPanel or Hestia Control Panel and direct competitors such as SpinupWP and FlyWP. Of all those that I have tried, the platform that works best for WordPress is SpinupWP and I believe that xCloud can reach and surpass that development, its roadmap is promising. Congratulations to the xCloud team, I hope they become the leading platform in the segment, it has all the potential to achieve it!

I've been with runcloud for the last 3 years. However, after trying xcloud for the last month, I'm switching over. They are on a roll with their setup.

Trust me when I say, once people explore the potential of xCloud they gonna switch from other panels, just keep delivering the best tech, lots of love for the team 😍😍

So far my experience has been smooth like silk. I didn't imagine that configuring and managing a VPS would be so easy. As of today, I have deployed 8 sites. The support is good, and they treat users with respect, even if they ask stupid questions (myself included). For the future, I hope for greater flexibility in scheduled backups and more comprehensive and consistent documentation. I'm sure that within a few months, xCloud will become the leader in its segment. This community is amazing, and the Staff here is super helpful.

Came from cloudways then to runcloud then to xcloud. Looks like I'm staying here.

I've recently taken all of my Vultr-hosted sites and gotten rid of cPanel for them to substitute it with xCloud. I have to say, I'm really impressed with xCloud so far! The interface is definitely the standout feature for me.
Tony Lewis
I came from Cloudways and won't go back. Highly impressed with xCloud. Glad I gave them a chance.
Jared McDowell
I like xCloud better than RunCloud, but one thing I'll point out is that some years ago RunCloud was hungry for business, the support was outstanding, and the community was active and helped each other. Maybe it was sold, there was a change in management, or they stopped being hungry, but the quality of the RunCloud offering declined and it hasn't been moving forward quickly. My point is that currently the xCloud team has the edge and it is theirs to keep or lose

Dear xCloud Team, I have been using xCloud for some time now and am genuinely impressed with its capabilities and the flexibility it offers by allowing users to bring their own VPS for management. It's a fantastic service, and my experience so far has been very positive. Successful migrated 5 sites on a single server. Xcloud migration tool worked great. There were few hiccups with security plugin like MalCare but disabling the plugin prior to migration worked just fine.

Frequently Asked Questions

Feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns you may have.

How much RAM does eKuiper need?

The manifest sets a minimum of 1 CPU core, 256 MB of RAM and 2 GB of disk, and QA saw the engine and console idle at roughly 20 MB combined. Real use grows with rules and message rate, so the 6 GB Cloud VPS here has room to spare.

Is eKuiper free and open source?

Yes. eKuiper is Apache-2.0 licensed, per the LICENSE file at the v2.4.2 tag, so licensing adds no cost; you pay xCloud just for the dedicated Cloud VPS, and your streams, rules and data stay on your own volumes.

Can you run eKuiper with Docker?

Yes. eKuiper Docker hosting needs no compose file from you: the template runs lfedge/ekuiper 2.4.2 and emqx/ekuiper-manager 1.9.5, both pinned by immutable digest, and the console is served over HTTPS, so this is eKuiper cloud hosting on a server of your own.

What is the difference between eKuiper and Node-RED?

Node-RED wires event-driven flows in a visual editor, while eKuiper expresses filtering and transformation as SQL rules over streams, with windows and sinks. Node-RED has its own xCloud page, and the two can run on the same server.

How do I sign in to the eKuiper manager?

Use admin and the generated password shown in the protected credentials. The manager's built-in admin and public login is replaced with this password at first start, and you can change it from the user menu inside the console.

Which data sources can eKuiper read?

Per the README, MQTT, HTTP, files and other sources, with databases and files usable for joins. On this install the engine's HTTP push server is not published, so use MQTT or rules that pull data rather than posting into the engine.

Is the eKuiper engine REST API public?

No. The engine's REST API is reachable only from the manager over the private network and has no login of its own, so the template does not publish it. Do not expose it without your own authentication layer in front.

Does eKuiper support native or Python plugins?

Upstream supports extending sources, functions and sinks with Golang or Python, but not on this install: the default Alpine image does not support native or Python plugins. Rules, streams, MQTT, HTTP and file sources and sinks, and built-in functions work.

Does every eKuiper manager page work?

Not guaranteed. Streams and rules work through the engine's REST API, but the manager is the 1.9 line and no 2.x manager image exists upstream, so a page that relies on an endpoint removed in engine 2.x may not render fully.

What should I back up on an eKuiper server?

Back up ekuiper_data, ekuiper_log, ekuiper_plugins and manager_data together, with the generated values from the environment. Do not rotate MANAGER_AES_KEY, because data the manager encrypted with it becomes unreadable. Keep the admin password private, copy the volumes off the server, and test a restore before you need it.

How do I upgrade eKuiper?

Nothing upgrades it for you: the install stays on engine 2.4.2 and manager 1.9.5 until you adopt a newer template version. Back up all four volumes first, read the upstream release notes, then check a rule and the console sign-in afterwards.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. There is no lock-in — cancel any time. Hosting is billed monthly and charged for what you actually use, so when you delete the server the unused balance is refunded to your account, less up to 10% in payment-processing fees.
