Dkron Hosting Live In 5 Minutes

Replace scattered crontabs with one scheduler that shows every job, its schedule and its last result — shell commands and HTTP calls, from a web UI or REST API. xCloud configures the pinned Dkron 4.2.0 image, a password-protected proxy and the HTTPS reverse proxy in minutes.

From Sign-Up to Your First Scheduled Job In Just 3 Easy Steps

Self-hosting Dkron normally means a container, an authentication layer bolted on yourself, a domain and a certificate before a single job runs. This is the same result without assembling any of it.

  1. Step 01

Create your xCloud account and pick Dkron from the OneClick catalog. Keep or change the Dkron Username (default admin) — xCloud generates a 24-character password.

  2. Step 02

    We Deploy It For You

One click. We bring up the pinned Dkron 4.2.0 image behind a Caddy HTTP Basic Auth proxy, and publish the UI and API over HTTPS on your domain.

  3. Step 03

    Create And Run A Job

Save the username and password from the protected installation credentials, sign in at https://<your-domain>/ui/, then create a job with a name and schedule, choose the shell or http executor, and use run now to check the output.

Everything Dkron Does, On Your Own Server

Dkron runs in full here — the same scheduling and execution-history tooling as any hosted job-scheduler service, on infrastructure you control.

  • One Scheduler, Every Job

Replace scattered crontabs on multiple servers with one scheduler that shows every job, its schedule and its last result.

  • Cron Expressions And Shortcuts

Standard cron expressions plus shortcuts such as @every 1h or @daily, with an on-demand run now for any job.

  • Shell And HTTP Executors

Run maintenance scripts inside the container or call webhooks and APIs on a schedule, with the same job model.

  • Execution History With Output

Every run is recorded with its output, so you can see exactly why a job failed instead of guessing.

  • Manage Jobs From The UI Or The API

Create, run, list and delete jobs from the web UI or automate them through the REST API at /v1/jobs, with the same credentials.

  • Jobs And History Survive A Restart

The dkron_data volume holds the Raft state — jobs and execution history — and persists across an xCloud restart.

See why agencies, developers, startups, and growing businesses choose xCloud to power their projects.

xCloud works really well, I am surprised by its performance being this the release version, I have tried many paid platforms such as runcloud, cloudpages or serveravatar, as well as free platforms such as CyberPanel, CloudPanel or Hestia Control Panel and direct competitors such as SpinupWP and FlyWP. Of all those that I have tried, the platform that works best for WordPress is SpinupWP and I believe that xCloud can reach and surpass that development, its roadmap is promising. Congratulations to the xCloud team, I hope they become the leading platform in the segment, it has all the potential to achieve it!

I've been with runcloud for the last 3 years. However, after trying xcloud for the last month, I'm switching over. They are on a roll with their setup.

I'm moving my servers to xCloud, a cloud control panel by M Asif Rahman and the WPDeveloper team. Their roadmap looks interesting and no, there are no team mates nor API limits with xCloud! #xCloud #wordpress #hosting

xCloud is like having an expert server team on call — without the big agency costs. It's given me back my time and given my clients peace of mind. Highly recommended for freelancers and small teams who want reliable performance and security.

xCloud isn't just a solution. It's like one of that friend who got your back when you screw things up pretty bad.

Trust me when I say, once people explore the potential of xCloud they gonna switch from other panels, just keep delivering the best tech, lots of love for the team 😍😍

So far my experience has been smooth like silk. I didn't imagine that configuring and managing a VPS would be so easy. As of today, I have deployed 8 sites. The support is good, and they treat users with respect, even if they ask stupid questions (myself included). For the future, I hope for greater flexibility in scheduled backups and more comprehensive and consistent documentation. I'm sure that within a few months, xCloud will become the leader in its segment. This community is amazing, and the Staff here is super helpful.

Came from cloudways then to runcloud then to xcloud. Looks like I'm staying here.

I've recently taken all of my Vultr-hosted sites and gotten rid of cPanel for them to substitute it with xCloud. I have to say, I'm really impressed with xCloud so far! The interface is definitely the standout feature for me.
Tony Lewis
I came from Cloudways and won't go back. Highly impressed with xCloud. Glad I gave them a chance.
Jared McDowell
I like xCloud better than RunCloud, but one thing I'll point out is that some years ago RunCloud was hungry for business, the support was outstanding, and the community was active and helped each other. Maybe it was sold, there was a change in management, or they stopped being hungry, but the quality of the RunCloud offering declined and it hasn't been moving forward quickly. My point is that currently the xCloud team has the edge and it is theirs to keep or lose

Dear xCloud Team, I have been using xCloud for some time now and am genuinely impressed with its capabilities and the flexibility it offers by allowing users to bring their own VPS for management. It's a fantastic service, and my experience so far has been very positive. Successful migrated 5 sites on a single server. Xcloud migration tool worked great. There were few hiccups with security plugin like MalCare but disabling the plugin prior to migration worked just fine.

Frequently Asked Questions

Feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns you may have.

What is Dkron?

Dkron is an open-source, cron-style job scheduler with a web UI and an HTTP API for scheduling shell commands and HTTP calls. This template deploys version 4.2.0.

Is Dkron protected by a password?

Yes. Open-source Dkron has no built-in login, so this deployment adds HTTP Basic Auth on the UI and the whole API through a Caddy proxy. Credentials are generated at install — confirmed that requests without credentials or with a wrong password get 401.

What kinds of jobs can it run?

Shell commands inside the Dkron container and HTTP requests to any URL, on cron schedules, shortcuts such as @daily, or on demand with run now.

Can I manage jobs from scripts?

Yes. The REST API at /v1 creates, runs, lists and deletes jobs, using the same credentials as the web UI — for example curl -u admin:<password> https://<your-domain>/v1/jobs.

Is this a cluster with failover?

No. This template runs a single-node Dkron server, which suits most scheduling needs but has no failover.

Is it safe to share the login widely?

Share it only with people you trust — shell jobs run as root inside the Dkron container, so anyone with the login can run arbitrary commands on that container.

What runs alongside Dkron?

A Caddy auth proxy on a private Docker network; only the proxy is published through xCloud. Dkron's own port and its cluster ports (Serf, gRPC/Raft) are not published.

What are the server requirements?

The template manifest asks for 1 CPU, 512 MB of RAM and 5 GB of disk as a floor. This page sells the 6 GB tier, comfortable headroom above that floor. QA measured about 72 MiB in total for both containers.

How do I rotate the login credentials?

Change UI_USERNAME / UI_PASSWORD in the environment, save, redeploy, and update any API clients that use the old credentials.

What should I back up?

The complete dkron_data volume, which holds all jobs and execution history. Keep DKRON_NODE_NAME unchanged, since the stored Raft state belongs to that node name.

Does xCloud automatically back up or update Dkron?

No. The template pins the image by immutable digest; a catalog re-sync affects new installations only. Read the upstream release notes, back up the volume, then change the tag and digest together when you choose to upgrade.

Is xCloud officially partnered with Dkron?

No. No official partnership or endorsement between xCloud and the Dkron project has been verified. This is a deployment and server-management option for the open-source Dkron project.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. There is no lock-in — cancel any time. Hosting is billed monthly and charged for what you actually use, so when you delete the server the unused balance is refunded to your account, less up to 10% in payment-processing fees.
