What is Bambuddy?

Bambuddy is a self-hosted web app for managing Bambu Lab 3D printers. Its upstream tagline is "Your printers. No cloud. Your rules.": it talks to printers directly over the local network and stores all print history locally rather than in a vendor cloud.

It covers monitoring, a print archive, a queue with scheduling, statistics and filament tracking, from a single printer to a whole print farm. Upstream's supported list includes the X1, X2, H2, P1, P2, A1 and A2 series.

From Sign-Up to a Live Print Dashboard In Just 3 Easy Steps

Self-hosting Bambuddy normally means a container, a persistent volume, a domain, a certificate and a first-run setup screen that anyone could reach first. This is the same result without assembling any of it.

  1. Step 01

Create your xCloud account and pick Bambuddy from the OneClick catalog. Choose your domain and target server, and optionally change the administrator username (default admin).

  2. Step 02

    We Deploy It For You

One click. We bring up the official Bambuddy image, pinned by immutable digest, mount the bambuddy_data and bambuddy_logs volumes, and publish it over HTTPS on your domain. A one-shot setup container then creates the administrator through Bambuddy's setup API with a generated password and exits.

  3. Step 03

Sign In And Add A Printer

Save the administrator password from the protected installation credentials, open your HTTPS Bambuddy URL and sign in. Then add each printer by its IP address, serial number and access code — the server needs a network route to the printers.

Everything Bambuddy Does, On Your Own Server

Bambuddy runs here with its core print-management features, in one web interface on your own domain.

  • Live Printer Monitoring

Real-time printer status over WebSocket, with live camera streaming and printer controls such as pause, resume, stop and chamber light.

  • Print Archive

Prints are archived automatically with metadata, 3D model and G-code previews, duplicate detection and full-text search.

  • Queue And Scheduling

A print queue with Queue, History and Timeline tabs, scheduled prints at a set date and time, and batch orders with a target quantity per plate.

  • Statistics

Print success rates and trends, filament usage, cost analytics and failure analysis, with CSV and Excel export.

  • Filament Tracking

Track filament usage and AMS slot configuration, including spools you create in the app.

  • Administrator Login From The Start

Anonymous requests to the API are rejected and a repeat setup request is refused, so the site never offers an open setup screen.

Everything You Need To Run Your Print Management 24/7

Managed hosting for Bambuddy, so the parts that keep it online are not your problem.

  • Bambuddy 1.2.5.7 deployed instantly
  • Official image pinned by digest
  • Administrator password generated for you
  • App port bound to loopback behind xCloud nginx
  • Free SSL certificate
  • Server backups and snapshots
  • Server security updates included
  • 30+ server locations
  • Unused balance refunded

What You Can Do With Bambuddy

  • Watch a printer from anywhere

Check progress, temperatures and the camera from a browser tab on your own domain instead of walking to the printer.

  • Keep a searchable history of every print

Finished prints land in an archive with metadata and previews, so a model you printed months ago is a search away.

  • Run a small print farm from one queue

Queue jobs, schedule them for a set time and track what is done, owed or failed across several printers.

  • Know your filament and costs

Track spools and filament usage, and see statistics and cost analytics for one printer or a handful.

Bambuddy vs Alternatives

Bambu Lab's cloud
Bambu Lab's own cloud service connects printers through the vendor. Bambuddy works over the local network instead, and keeps its print history on your own server.
Bambu Studio
Bambu Lab's slicer sends sliced files to a printer. Bambuddy adds an archive, queue, scheduling and statistics around the printers, and can open library files in your slicer.
OrcaSlicer
A desktop slicer that, like Bambu Studio, prepares and sends prints. Upstream notes that slicing in OrcaSlicer puts the file on the printer's card, so Bambuddy can archive it with full details.

Hear what people are saying about us

See why agencies, developers, startups, and growing businesses choose xCloud to power their projects.

xCloud works really well, I am surprised by its performance being this the release version, I have tried many paid platforms such as runcloud, cloudpages or serveravatar, as well as free platforms such as CyberPanel, CloudPanel or Hestia Control Panel and direct competitors such as SpinupWP and FlyWP. Of all those that I have tried, the platform that works best for WordPress is SpinupWP and I believe that xCloud can reach and surpass that development, its roadmap is promising. Congratulations to the xCloud team, I hope they become the leading platform in the segment, it has all the potential to achieve it!
Brian Geovanny
I've been with runcloud for the last 3 years. However, after trying xcloud for the last month, I'm switching over. They are on a roll with their setup.

I'm moving my servers to xCloud, a cloud control panel by M Asif Rahman and the WPDeveloper team. Their roadmap looks interesting and no, there are no team mates nor API limits with xCloud! #xCloud #wordpress #hosting

xCloud is like having an expert server team on call — without the big agency costs. It's given me back my time and given my clients peace of mind. Highly recommended for freelancers and small teams who want reliable performance and security.

xCloud isn't just a solution. It's like one of that friend who got your back when you screw things up pretty bad.

Trust me when I say, once people explore the potential of xCloud they gonna switch from other panels, just keep delivering the best tech, lots of love for the team 😍😍

So far my experience has been smooth like silk. I didn't imagine that configuring and managing a VPS would be so easy. As of today, I have deployed 8 sites. The support is good, and they treat users with respect, even if they ask stupid questions (myself included). For the future, I hope for greater flexibility in scheduled backups and more comprehensive and consistent documentation. I'm sure that within a few months, xCloud will become the leader in its segment. This community is amazing, and the Staff here is super helpful.

Came from cloudways then to runcloud then to xcloud. Looks like I'm staying here.
Gerson El
I've recently taken all of my Vultr-hosted sites and gotten rid of cPanel for them to substitute it with xCloud. I have to say, I'm really impressed with xCloud so far! The interface is definitely the standout feature for me.
Tony Lewis
I came from Cloudways and won't go back. Highly impressed with xCloud. Glad I gave them a chance.
Jared McDowell
I like xCloud better than RunCloud, but one thing I'll point out is that some years ago RunCloud was hungry for business, the support was outstanding, and the community was active and helped each other. Maybe it was sold, there was a change in management, or they stopped being hungry, but the quality of the RunCloud offering declined and it hasn't been moving forward quickly. My point is that currently the xCloud team has the edge and it is theirs to keep or lose

Dear xCloud Team, I have been using xCloud for some time now and am genuinely impressed with its capabilities and the flexibility it offers by allowing users to bring their own VPS for management. It's a fantastic service, and my experience so far has been very positive. Successful migrated 5 sites on a single server. Xcloud migration tool worked great. There were few hiccups with security plugin like MalCare but disabling the plugin prior to migration worked just fine.

Frequently Asked Questions

Feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns you may have.

How do I sign in?

Use the administrator username (admin unless you changed it in the install form) and the generated password from the installation credentials. A one-shot setup container creates that account on first start, so there is no open setup screen for a stranger to claim.

Can it reach printers on my home network?

Only if this server can route to them, for example through a VPN such as Tailscale or WireGuard installed on the server. Printers on a home network are not reachable from the internet by default.

How do I add a printer?

Add each printer by its IP address, serial number and access code. Upstream's requirements list a Bambu Lab printer with Developer Mode enabled on the same network as the app.

Does the virtual printer feature work?

No. The virtual printer feature and printer discovery need fixed standard ports and LAN broadcast, so they are not available in this deployment. Add printers by IP address.

What runs alongside Bambuddy?

A one-shot setup container that creates the administrator account and exits. The web interface and API are published through xCloud-managed HTTPS, with the app port bound to loopback only.

How large can an upload be?

Uploads are capped at 512 MB per file in this deployment, and a proxy in front of your domain may impose a lower limit.

What should I back up?

The bambuddy_data volume, which holds the database and keys. The bambuddy_logs volume holds application logs. Keep the generated password private.

What happens if I edit the administrator values later?

Nothing changes for the existing account. The username and password are used once, at install; change them inside Bambuddy instead. The credentials card keeps showing the install-time password.

What survives a restart?

Data in the bambuddy_data and bambuddy_logs volumes — a spool created in QA was still present after an xCloud Restart, because they are persistent named volumes.

Does xCloud automatically back up or update Bambuddy?

No. The template pins Bambuddy 1.2.5.7 by immutable digest; new installations use the pinned release, existing sites are not automatically upgraded. Back up first, read the upstream release notes, then bump the readable tag and digest together on your own schedule. Server-level backups and snapshots are available on every Cloud VPS.

What are the server requirements, and why does this page sell 6 GB?

The template's baseline asks for 1 CPU core, 1024 MB of RAM and 5 GB of disk; measured idle use in QA was about 186 MiB. The RAM figure leaves room because Bambuddy reads each uploaded print file fully into memory. This page sells the 6 GB tier as the entry rung, with real headroom above that baseline.

Is xCloud officially partnered with Bambuddy?

No. No official partnership or endorsement between xCloud and the Bambuddy project has been verified. This is a deployment and server-management option for the open-source Bambuddy project.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. There is no lock-in — cancel any time. Hosting is billed monthly and charged for what you actually use, so when you delete the server the unused balance is refunded to your account, less up to 10% in payment-processing fees.
