Deploy Hammer hosting and sync your novels and stories between devices through a server on your own domain. xCloud runs the pinned Hammer 3.12.0 sync server and web dashboard with its embedded PostgreSQL database on a persistent volume and publishes it over HTTPS in minutes. You open the setup page first, because the first visitor there becomes the admin, and sign-in pages stay public.
Hammer is a long-form writing app for novels and other big projects, with apps for Android, iOS, Windows, macOS and Linux. This template runs the Hammer sync server: one container that serves a web dashboard, the admin pages and the sync API those apps use. Run on your own server it is a self-hosted Hammer, an alternative to keeping a manuscript in a hosted service such as Google Docs or Notion, with the code under the MIT licence.
On xCloud it is the upstream Hammer 3.12.0 server image, pinned by digest, with its embedded PostgreSQL database on the hammer_data volume. Project data enters through the apps; the website handles first-run setup, account administration and story publishing. There is no seeded admin password, registration is limited to an allowed-users list, and only one copy of the site may run.
A Hammer server normally means the sync container, an embedded database volume, a generated config, a domain and a certificate before the apps can connect. This is the same result without assembling any of it.
Step 01
Create your xCloud account and pick Hammer from the OneClick catalog. Choose a domain and target server; the install form has no fields, because the domain is written into the app config for you.
Step 02
One click. We start the Hammer 3.12.0 server image, pinned by digest, mount hammer_data and publish it over HTTPS. The first start launches the embedded database and can take a minute or two.
Step 03
Open your domain's /setup page straight away and enter an email and password. There is no seeded password, so the first visitor becomes admin. Then enter the server address in the Hammer app.
Hammer 3.12.0 runs here as the sync server and dashboard for your writing apps, on a volume you own.
The Hammer desktop and mobile apps sync to your server URL over HTTPS, so your projects follow you between devices.
The website covers setup, account administration and reading or publishing stories. You write and edit in the apps, not the browser.
Registration is limited to the Allowed Users list at /admin/allowed-users. Anyone else gets a not-whitelisted error.
The image carries its own database on the hammer_data volume, so there is no separate database container to run.
Anyone can open the sign-in page, but stories and sync data need an allowed account. Basic Auth in front is optional and not enabled.
The embedded database locks its data directory, so run exactly one copy of the site.
Managed hosting for Hammer, so the parts that keep it online are not your problem.
Point the desktop and mobile apps at your server so a novel follows you between them.
Store story projects on a server you control instead of a third-party writing account.
Make finished stories readable through the web dashboard after the app syncs them.
Add chosen email addresses to the allowed-users list so only they can register.

xCloud works really well, I am surprised by its performance being this the release version, I have tried many paid platforms such as runcloud, cloudpages or serveravatar, as well as free platforms such as CyberPanel, CloudPanel or Hestia Control Panel and direct competitors such as SpinupWP and FlyWP. Of all those that I have tried, the platform that works best for WordPress is SpinupWP and I believe that xCloud can reach and surpass that development, its roadmap is promising. Congratulations to the xCloud team, I hope they become the leading platform in the segment, it has all the potential to achieve it!
Brian GeovannyI've been with runcloud for the last 3 years. However, after trying xcloud for the last month, I'm switching over. They are on a roll with their setup.
Kevin PinedaI'm moving my servers to xCloud, a cloud control panel by M Asif Rahman and the WPDeveloper team. Their roadmap looks interesting and no, there are no team mates nor API limits with xCloud! #xCloud #wordpress #hosting
Leo KooHow Cloud Nine Web Elevated Client Experience While Streamlining Hosting Operations using xCloud
Ed EllinghamxCloud is like having an expert server team on call — without the big agency costs. It's given me back my time and given my clients peace of mind. Highly recommended for freelancers and small teams who want reliable performance and security.
Dumitru ButucelxCloud isn't just a solution. It's like one of that friend who got your back when you screw things up pretty bad.
Waqar AhmedTrust me when I say, once people explore the potential of xCloud they gonna switch from other panels, just keep delivering the best tech, lots of love for the team 😍😍
Rahul SinghSo far my experience has been smooth like silk. I didn't imagine that configuring and managing a VPS would be so easy. As of today, I have deployed 8 sites. The support is good, and they treat users with respect, even if they ask stupid questions (myself included). For the future, I hope for greater flexibility in scheduled backups and more comprehensive and consistent documentation. I'm sure that within a few months, xCloud will become the leader in its segment. This community is amazing, and the Staff here is super helpful.
Massimo VillaCame from cloudways then to runcloud then to xcloud. Looks like I'm staying here.
Gerson ElI've recently taken all of my Vultr-hosted sites and gotten rid of cPanel for them to substitute it with xCloud. I have to say, I'm really impressed with xCloud so far! The interface is definitely the standout feature for me.
Tony LewisI came from Cloudways and won't go back. Highly impressed with xCloud. Glad I gave them a chance.
Jared McDowellI like xCloud better than RunCloud, but one thing I'll point out is that some years ago RunCloud was hungry for business, the support was outstanding, and the community was active and helped each other. Maybe it was sold, there was a change in management, or they stopped being hungry, but the quality of the RunCloud offering declined and it hasn't been moving forward quickly. My point is that currently the xCloud team has the edge and it is theirs to keep or lose
David McCanHow Kevin Heinrichs Cut Hosting Costs by 84% While Running WooCommerce & Node.js Sites Efficiently
Kevin HeinrichsI had 150 sites on cloudways and am in the process of moving them to xcloud. Much faster and better priced.
Dan SpinozaDear xCloud Team, I have been using xCloud for some time now and am genuinely impressed with its capabilities and the flexibility it offers by allowing users to bring their own VPS for management. It's a fantastic service, and my experience so far has been very positive. Successful migrated 5 sites on a single server. Xcloud migration tool worked great. There were few hiccups with security plugin like MalCare but disabling the plugin prior to migration worked just fine.
Rahil MaknojiaCame from runcloud. Tried xcloud and never came back.

Gary MoodyxCloud gave me what no other hosting platform could: the flexibility of a VPS with the convenience of managed WordPress. As a solo founder running an entire business on one server, that combination is an important unfair advantage.
Jorge de los Reyes MartínezI use Server Avatar and xCloud and I'll sooner use xCloud than Server Avatar personally.

Yes, and this template is Hammer Docker hosting without the setup: the upstream Hammer 3.12.0 server image pinned by digest, with an embedded PostgreSQL database on the hammer_data volume and HTTPS on your own domain.
Expect a floor of 1024 MB RAM with one core and 5 GB disk. The first start launches the embedded database and can take a minute or two. The 6 GB tier is the one we sell first, which keeps spare memory free.
Open your domain's /setup page right away and enter an email and password. That first account becomes the admin, and until setup is done every page redirects there, so whoever reaches it first can claim admin.
No. The website is a dashboard and admin area. You write and edit stories in the Hammer desktop or mobile app, and they appear on the dashboard after the app syncs. The browser is for setup, accounts and publishing.
Only email addresses on the Allowed Users list at /admin/allowed-users. Anyone else receives a not-whitelisted error, and this restriction is always on. The sign-in page itself is public, but stories and sync data need an allowed account.
In the Hammer desktop or mobile app, enter https://your-domain as the server address and sign in with an allowed account. The apps only speak HTTPS, which your domain provides. Full document sync through the apps was not exercised in our verification.
Yes. Hammer is open source under the MIT licence, so the software has no licence fee. The only cost is the dedicated Cloud VPS that holds your manuscripts, making this a Hammer cloud of your own.
All state lives in the hammer_data volume: the database, caches and config. Stop the site before copying the volume, because the embedded database locks its data directory. Nothing schedules the copy, so run it yourself.
The install stays on its pinned 3.12.0 image until you adopt a newer template version. Back up hammer_data first with the site stopped, then read the release notes. Existing sites are not upgraded by themselves, and the volume survives a redeploy.
Only after you set emailProvider to SMTP in the app config and enter the SMTP details on the admin page. No SMTP keys ship with the template, because the server works without them. Password reset needs that email setup.
Yes. There is no lock-in — cancel any time. Hosting is billed monthly and charged for what you actually use, so when you delete the server the unused balance is refunded to your account, less up to 10% in payment-processing fees.
Connect your first server in minutes. No plan you have to grow into.
