Deploy Harper hosting and give your team a private grammar and spell-check editor on your own domain. xCloud runs the pinned Harper 2.12.0 web image with a private MariaDB 12.2 database, generates the database credentials, mounts a persistent volume and publishes the editor over HTTPS in minutes. Checking runs in the visitor's browser, and there is no sign-in, so you decide who can reach it.
Harper is an English grammar checker that upstream describes as privacy-first and small enough to load via WebAssembly. It lints text in milliseconds in the visitor's own browser, so nothing you write is sent to a grammar service. Run on your own server it is a self-hosted Harper, an alternative to a cloud grammar checker such as Grammarly, with the code under the Apache-2.0 licence.
On xCloud it is Harper 2.12.0 as a community-built web image, pinned by digest, with a private MariaDB 12.2 database. The database holds only data the site itself collects, such as lint reports. The editor lives at /editor, the upstream admin pages are disabled and return 404, and there is no sign-in at all, so anyone who can reach the domain can use it. Upstream supports English only.
A Harper stack normally means a web container, a private database, generated credentials, a volume, a domain and a certificate before the first sentence. This is the same result without assembling any of it.
Step 01
Create your xCloud account and pick Harper from the OneClick catalog. Choose your domain and target server; there are no extra fields to fill in.
Step 02
One click. We start the community-built Harper web image, pinned by digest, with a private MariaDB 12.2 database kept off the public internet, mount harper_db, generate the database credentials and publish it over HTTPS.
Step 03
Open your HTTPS Harper URL and go to /editor. Type or paste text and review the suggestions as you write. There is no account to create, so add Basic Authentication or IP management if the editor should not be public.
Harper runs in full here: a browser-based grammar and spell-check editor on your own domain, backed by a database you own.
Checking runs locally in the browser via WebAssembly, so your writing is not sent to a third-party grammar service.
Type or paste text and see suggestions as you write, with no setup beyond opening the page.
There is no sign-in system. Restrict access with xCloud Basic Authentication or IP management if the editor should not be public.
Upstream currently supports English only, though its core is built to support other languages later.
MariaDB 12.2 is reachable only inside the install's private network, with no published port.
The upstream admin pages are disabled in this image and return 404, keeping the surface to the editor itself.

xCloud works really well, I am surprised by its performance being this the release version, I have tried many paid platforms such as runcloud, cloudpages or serveravatar, as well as free platforms such as CyberPanel, CloudPanel or Hestia Control Panel and direct competitors such as SpinupWP and FlyWP. Of all those that I have tried, the platform that works best for WordPress is SpinupWP and I believe that xCloud can reach and surpass that development, its roadmap is promising. Congratulations to the xCloud team, I hope they become the leading platform in the segment, it has all the potential to achieve it!
Brian GeovannyI've been with runcloud for the last 3 years. However, after trying xcloud for the last month, I'm switching over. They are on a roll with their setup.
Kevin PinedaI'm moving my servers to xCloud, a cloud control panel by M Asif Rahman and the WPDeveloper team. Their roadmap looks interesting and no, there are no team mates nor API limits with xCloud! #xCloud #wordpress #hosting
Leo KooHow Cloud Nine Web Elevated Client Experience While Streamlining Hosting Operations using xCloud
Ed EllinghamxCloud is like having an expert server team on call — without the big agency costs. It's given me back my time and given my clients peace of mind. Highly recommended for freelancers and small teams who want reliable performance and security.
Dumitru ButucelxCloud isn't just a solution. It's like one of that friend who got your back when you screw things up pretty bad.
Waqar AhmedTrust me when I say, once people explore the potential of xCloud they gonna switch from other panels, just keep delivering the best tech, lots of love for the team 😍😍
Rahul SinghSo far my experience has been smooth like silk. I didn't imagine that configuring and managing a VPS would be so easy. As of today, I have deployed 8 sites. The support is good, and they treat users with respect, even if they ask stupid questions (myself included). For the future, I hope for greater flexibility in scheduled backups and more comprehensive and consistent documentation. I'm sure that within a few months, xCloud will become the leader in its segment. This community is amazing, and the Staff here is super helpful.
Massimo VillaCame from cloudways then to runcloud then to xcloud. Looks like I'm staying here.
Gerson ElI've recently taken all of my Vultr-hosted sites and gotten rid of cPanel for them to substitute it with xCloud. I have to say, I'm really impressed with xCloud so far! The interface is definitely the standout feature for me.
Tony LewisI came from Cloudways and won't go back. Highly impressed with xCloud. Glad I gave them a chance.
Jared McDowellI like xCloud better than RunCloud, but one thing I'll point out is that some years ago RunCloud was hungry for business, the support was outstanding, and the community was active and helped each other. Maybe it was sold, there was a change in management, or they stopped being hungry, but the quality of the RunCloud offering declined and it hasn't been moving forward quickly. My point is that currently the xCloud team has the edge and it is theirs to keep or lose
David McCanHow Kevin Heinrichs Cut Hosting Costs by 84% While Running WooCommerce & Node.js Sites Efficiently
Kevin HeinrichsI had 150 sites on cloudways and am in the process of moving them to xcloud. Much faster and better priced.
Dan SpinozaDear xCloud Team, I have been using xCloud for some time now and am genuinely impressed with its capabilities and the flexibility it offers by allowing users to bring their own VPS for management. It's a fantastic service, and my experience so far has been very positive. Successful migrated 5 sites on a single server. Xcloud migration tool worked great. There were few hiccups with security plugin like MalCare but disabling the plugin prior to migration worked just fine.
Rahil MaknojiaCame from runcloud. Tried xcloud and never came back.

Gary MoodyxCloud gave me what no other hosting platform could: the flexibility of a VPS with the convenience of managed WordPress. As a solo founder running an entire business on one server, that combination is an important unfair advantage.
Jorge de los Reyes MartínezI use Server Avatar and xCloud and I'll sooner use xCloud than Server Avatar personally.

Yes, and this template is Harper Docker hosting without the setup: the community-built Harper 2.12.0 web image and MariaDB 12.2, with a persistent database volume, generated credentials, a private network for the database and HTTPS on your own domain.
The template baseline is 1024 MB of RAM, 1 CPU core and 4 GB of disk; measured idle use in QA was about 125 MB. The 6 GB plan is the starting point here, well above that baseline.
You don't: there are no accounts or admin sign-in. Open /editor on your domain and start typing. Anyone who can reach the domain can do the same, so restrict access with Basic Authentication or IP management if needed.
No. Checking runs in the visitor's browser through WebAssembly rather than on a remote service. The MariaDB database stores only data the site itself collects, such as lint reports, and is not exposed to the internet.
Upstream currently supports English only, though its core is extensible to other languages. The template deploys version 2.12.0 and adds no language packs, so plan around English grammar and spelling for now, and judge other languages elsewhere.
Yes by default. There is no sign-in, so the editor is open to anyone who can reach your domain. Use xCloud Basic Authentication or IP management to restrict it. The first load can show a blank page for a few seconds.
Yes. Harper is open source under the Apache-2.0 licence, so the software has no licence fee. You are billed only for the dedicated Cloud VPS hosting the editor and its database, which makes it a Harper cloud of your own.
Back up the harper_db volume, which holds the MariaDB data, and keep the generated database credentials private. Nothing schedules the copy, so run it yourself. Grammar checking itself runs in each visitor's browser, not on the server.
The install stays on its pinned 2.12.0 image until you adopt a newer template version. Back up harper_db first and read the upstream release notes. Existing sites are never upgraded automatically, and the redeploy keeps the database volume.
The ORIGIN environment value must equal the site's public HTTPS address. If you change the domain, update ORIGIN in the Environment editor and Save and Redeploy so the editor keeps working. Passwords for MariaDB are unaffected by a domain change.
Yes. There is no lock-in — cancel any time. Hosting is billed monthly and charged for what you actually use, so when you delete the server the unused balance is refunded to your account, less up to 10% in payment-processing fees.
Connect your first server in minutes. No plan you have to grow into.
