Huginn Hosting Live In 5 Minutes

Deploy Huginn hosting and run a self-hosted automation agent system that watches the web, reacts to events and takes actions on your behalf. xCloud deploys the upstream Huginn v2026.10.04 image alongside a private MySQL 8.4 database, generates the administrator account and the sign-up invitation code, mounts a persistent volume for the database and publishes it over HTTPS in minutes, so your automations run on infrastructure you control.

What is Huginn?

Self-hosted Huginn is a system for building agents that perform automated tasks for you online. Its README says agents read the web, watch for events and take actions on your behalf, creating and consuming events along a directed graph, and calls it a hackable version of IFTTT or Zapier on your own server. It lists website scraping, digest emails, webhooks, many service connections and custom JavaScript, under the MIT licence.

On xCloud the template runs the ghcr.io/huginn/huginn v2026.10.04 image with a private MySQL 8.4 database, both pinned by immutable digest, with a mysql_data volume. HTTPS is published on your domain. An administrator account and a sign-up invitation code are generated, outgoing mail needs SMTP settings you add, and agent requests are filtered away from private addresses by default.

From Sign-Up to a Live Huginn Install In Just 3 Easy Steps

Self-hosting Huginn normally means a MySQL database, a domain, a certificate and an administrator account before a single agent can run. This is the same result without assembling any of it.

  1. Step 01

Create your xCloud account, pick Huginn from the OneClick catalog, choose a domain, and enter the administrator email.

  2. Step 02

    We Deploy It For You

One click. We bring up the upstream Huginn image with a private MySQL 8.4 database, and publish Huginn over HTTPS on your domain — first boot takes about one to two minutes.

  3. Step 03

Sign In And Build Your First Agent

Save the administrator password and sign-up invitation code from your protected installation credentials, sign in as admin, change your password, then create your first agent or edit the seeded default agents.

Everything Huginn Does, On Your Own Server

Huginn runs in full here — the same web-watching automation tooling as any hosted agent system, on infrastructure you control.

  • Monitor Websites And Feeds

Monitor websites and feeds, then filter and transform what changes before acting on it.

  • Email Digests And Webhook Alerts

Send email digests and alerts, or call webhooks when events occur.

  • Chain Agents Together

Receive webhooks and chain agents so one agent's events trigger the next.

  • Egress Filtering By Default

Outbound agent requests are filtered to refuse private, loopback and link-local addresses by default.

  • Invitation-Gated Sign-Up

Sign-up is gated by a generated invitation code, and everything but the front page requires sign-in.

  • Restart-Safe Agents And Events

Agents, events and users are kept in a persistent MySQL volume and survived an xCloud Restart in QA.

What You Can Do With Huginn

  • Watch websites for changes

  • Send digests and alerts

Collect events through the day and send a digest at set times, or fire an alert the moment a count spikes.

  • Connect services with webhooks

Receive webhooks and call others, wiring agents to Slack, RSS, IMAP and the other services the README lists.

  • Run your own IFTTT-style rules

Chain agents into an event graph and keep the rules, credentials and history on your own server.

Huginn vs Alternatives

Zapier
As a huginn alternative to zapier, Huginn is MIT licensed, its README calls it a hackable version of IFTTT or Zapier on your own server, and its agents, credentials and event history live on your own Cloud VPS.
IFTTT
As a huginn alternative to ifttt, Huginn lets you build agents that watch the web, create and consume events and take actions, on a server you control.
Node-RED
Node-RED has its own xCloud template. In a huginn vs node-red choice, Huginn is a system of agents that create and consume events along a directed graph, with custom JavaScript where you need it.
Automatisch
Automatisch has its own xCloud template. Huginn connects to services such as Slack, RSS and IMAP, sends and receives webhooks, and runs custom JavaScript functions.

See why agencies, developers, startups, and growing businesses choose xCloud to power their projects.

xCloud works really well, I am surprised by its performance being this the release version, I have tried many paid platforms such as runcloud, cloudpages or serveravatar, as well as free platforms such as CyberPanel, CloudPanel or Hestia Control Panel and direct competitors such as SpinupWP and FlyWP. Of all those that I have tried, the platform that works best for WordPress is SpinupWP and I believe that xCloud can reach and surpass that development, its roadmap is promising. Congratulations to the xCloud team, I hope they become the leading platform in the segment, it has all the potential to achieve it!
Brian Geovanny
I've been with runcloud for the last 3 years. However, after trying xcloud for the last month, I'm switching over. They are on a roll with their setup.
Kevin Pineda
I'm moving my servers to xCloud, a cloud control panel by M Asif Rahman and the WPDeveloper team. Their roadmap looks interesting and no, there are no team mates nor API limits with xCloud! #xCloud #wordpress #hosting

xCloud is like having an expert server team on call — without the big agency costs. It's given me back my time and given my clients peace of mind. Highly recommended for freelancers and small teams who want reliable performance and security.

xCloud isn't just a solution. It's like one of that friend who got your back when you screw things up pretty bad.

Trust me when I say, once people explore the potential of xCloud they gonna switch from other panels, just keep delivering the best tech, lots of love for the team 😍😍

So far my experience has been smooth like silk. I didn't imagine that configuring and managing a VPS would be so easy. As of today, I have deployed 8 sites. The support is good, and they treat users with respect, even if they ask stupid questions (myself included). For the future, I hope for greater flexibility in scheduled backups and more comprehensive and consistent documentation. I'm sure that within a few months, xCloud will become the leader in its segment. This community is amazing, and the Staff here is super helpful.
Massimo Villa
Came from cloudways then to runcloud then to xcloud. Looks like I'm staying here.
Gerson El
I've recently taken all of my Vultr-hosted sites and gotten rid of cPanel for them to substitute it with xCloud. I have to say, I'm really impressed with xCloud so far! The interface is definitely the standout feature for me.
Tony Lewis
I came from Cloudways and won't go back. Highly impressed with xCloud. Glad I gave them a chance.
Jared McDowell
I like xCloud better than RunCloud, but one thing I'll point out is that some years ago RunCloud was hungry for business, the support was outstanding, and the community was active and helped each other. Maybe it was sold, there was a change in management, or they stopped being hungry, but the quality of the RunCloud offering declined and it hasn't been moving forward quickly. My point is that currently the xCloud team has the edge and it is theirs to keep or lose

Dear xCloud Team, I have been using xCloud for some time now and am genuinely impressed with its capabilities and the flexibility it offers by allowing users to bring their own VPS for management. It's a fantastic service, and my experience so far has been very positive. Successful migrated 5 sites on a single server. Xcloud migration tool worked great. There were few hiccups with security plugin like MalCare but disabling the plugin prior to migration worked just fine.

Frequently Asked Questions

Feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns you may have.

How much RAM does Huginn need?

The manifest asks for 1 CPU core, 1536 MB of RAM and 5 GB of disk as a floor. The 6 GB Cloud VPS sold on this page leaves comfortable headroom for the web server, the job worker and the MySQL database.

Is Huginn free and open source?

Yes. Huginn is MIT licensed, per the LICENSE file at the v2026.10.04 tag, so there is no software charge, just the dedicated Cloud VPS billed by xCloud, and your agents and event history stay in your own database.

Can you run Huginn with Docker?

Yes. Huginn Docker hosting is assembled for you: the template runs the upstream ghcr.io/huginn/huginn v2026.10.04 image beside MySQL 8.4, both pinned by immutable digest, with HTTPS on your domain, so it works as Huginn cloud hosting on your own VPS.

What is the difference between Huginn and Node-RED?

Huginn is a system of agents that create and consume events, propagating them along a directed graph, with webhooks and custom JavaScript functions. Node-RED has its own xCloud page, so compare the two against how you like to build automations.

How do I sign in to Huginn?

Use the username admin, or the administrator email you entered, and the generated password from the installation credentials card. The password is set on first boot, so change it later from Account settings inside Huginn; the first boot takes one to two minutes.

Who should I let sign up to Huginn?

Share the sign-up invitation code only with people you trust, since every account can create agents that make web requests using your server's bandwidth and IP address. Set a new INVITATION_CODE value and redeploy to stop further sign-ups.

Can Huginn agents reach my private network?

Not by default. An egress filter refuses private, loopback and link-local addresses, so agents cannot reach other services on the server. You can relax it by setting ENABLE_SMOKESCREEN to false, but then agents can poll those addresses.

Does outgoing mail work out of the box in Huginn?

No. Password resets and email agents need SMTP settings added in the Environment editor, and the default weather agent needs its own provider API key. Until they are set, Huginn cannot send mail, so test one email agent after saving.

What happens if I change my Huginn domain?

Webhook URLs change with it, so update every external service that calls an agent's webhook address after a domain change. Change the domain on the Domain page, not in the environment file, because the value is rewritten automatically.

What should I back up on a Huginn server?

The mysql_data volume, or a mysqldump taken as the application user, plus the APP_SECRET_TOKEN value, which you should keep stable rather than rotating, because a new value signs every user out. Copy it off the server and test a restore.

How do I upgrade Huginn?

Nothing upgrades it for you: the install stays on pinned release v2026.10.04 until you adopt a newer template version. Back up mysql_data first, read the upstream release notes, since migrations run on start, then check sign-in and one agent.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. There is no lock-in — cancel any time. Hosting is billed monthly and charged for what you actually use, so when you delete the server the unused balance is refunded to your account, less up to 10% in payment-processing fees.
