HumHub Hosting Live In 5 Minutes

Give your team or community a private social network you control — Spaces for teams, projects and interest groups, a social feed of posts, comments and polls, and every profile, upload, module and theme kept on infrastructure you own. xCloud configures the pinned official HumHub 1.18.5 image, a private MariaDB 11.8.3 service, coordinated persistent volumes and the HTTPS reverse proxy in minutes, then hands you straight to HumHub's own installer to create the first administrator.

From Sign-Up to a Live HumHub Community In Just 3 Easy Steps

Self-hosting HumHub normally means a container, a private database, a domain and a certificate before a single Space exists. This is the same result without assembling any of it.

  1. Step 01

Create your xCloud account and pick HumHub from the OneClick catalog. Enter a site title and domain — there are no other fields to fill in.

  2. Step 02

    We Deploy It For You

One click. We bring up the official HumHub 1.18.5 image and a private MariaDB 11.8.3 service pinned by immutable digest, mount the humhub_data and humhub_db volumes, and publish it over HTTPS on your domain.

  3. Step 03

Install And Create Your First Space

Open your HTTPS URL and follow HumHub's own installer: confirm the supplied database settings, create the first administrator, sign in, create a Space and publish a test post. Configure trusted SMTP before enabling invitations or password-reset email.

Everything HumHub Does, On Your Own Server

HumHub runs in full here — the same Spaces, social feed and modular platform as any hosted community tool, on infrastructure you control.

  • Spaces For Teams And Communities

Create private or public Spaces for teams, projects, communities and interest groups, each with its own membership and content.

  • A Social Feed Built In

Share posts, comments, polls and activity updates through a feed every member sees, instead of scattering updates across email and chat.

  • Profiles, Uploads, Modules And Themes

Member profiles, uploaded files, installed modules and applied themes all stay under your own configuration, not a vendor's defaults.

  • Your Data, Your Server

Posts, profiles, uploads and the MariaDB database stay on infrastructure you control instead of a third-party SaaS account.

  • Private MariaDB

A dedicated MariaDB service holds every record, reachable only from the HumHub container over the private Compose network.

  • Two Volumes, Coordinated

Application data persists on humhub_data and the database on humhub_db — back the two up together, since a database-only snapshot is not a complete HumHub backup.

See why agencies, developers, startups, and growing businesses choose xCloud to power their projects.

xCloud works really well, I am surprised by its performance being this the release version, I have tried many paid platforms such as runcloud, cloudpages or serveravatar, as well as free platforms such as CyberPanel, CloudPanel or Hestia Control Panel and direct competitors such as SpinupWP and FlyWP. Of all those that I have tried, the platform that works best for WordPress is SpinupWP and I believe that xCloud can reach and surpass that development, its roadmap is promising. Congratulations to the xCloud team, I hope they become the leading platform in the segment, it has all the potential to achieve it!
Brian Geovanny
I've been with runcloud for the last 3 years. However, after trying xcloud for the last month, I'm switching over. They are on a roll with their setup.

I'm moving my servers to xCloud, a cloud control panel by M Asif Rahman and the WPDeveloper team. Their roadmap looks interesting and no, there are no team mates nor API limits with xCloud! #xCloud #wordpress #hosting

xCloud is like having an expert server team on call — without the big agency costs. It's given me back my time and given my clients peace of mind. Highly recommended for freelancers and small teams who want reliable performance and security.

xCloud isn't just a solution. It's like one of that friend who got your back when you screw things up pretty bad.

Trust me when I say, once people explore the potential of xCloud they gonna switch from other panels, just keep delivering the best tech, lots of love for the team 😍😍

So far my experience has been smooth like silk. I didn't imagine that configuring and managing a VPS would be so easy. As of today, I have deployed 8 sites. The support is good, and they treat users with respect, even if they ask stupid questions (myself included). For the future, I hope for greater flexibility in scheduled backups and more comprehensive and consistent documentation. I'm sure that within a few months, xCloud will become the leader in its segment. This community is amazing, and the Staff here is super helpful.

Came from cloudways then to runcloud then to xcloud. Looks like I'm staying here.
Gerson El
I've recently taken all of my Vultr-hosted sites and gotten rid of cPanel for them to substitute it with xCloud. I have to say, I'm really impressed with xCloud so far! The interface is definitely the standout feature for me.
Tony Lewis
I came from Cloudways and won't go back. Highly impressed with xCloud. Glad I gave them a chance.
Jared McDowell
I like xCloud better than RunCloud, but one thing I'll point out is that some years ago RunCloud was hungry for business, the support was outstanding, and the community was active and helped each other. Maybe it was sold, there was a change in management, or they stopped being hungry, but the quality of the RunCloud offering declined and it hasn't been moving forward quickly. My point is that currently the xCloud team has the edge and it is theirs to keep or lose

Dear xCloud Team, I have been using xCloud for some time now and am genuinely impressed with its capabilities and the flexibility it offers by allowing users to bring their own VPS for management. It's a fantastic service, and my experience so far has been very positive. Successful migrated 5 sites on a single server. Xcloud migration tool worked great. There were few hiccups with security plugin like MalCare but disabling the plugin prior to migration worked just fine.

Frequently Asked Questions

Feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns you may have.

What is HumHub?

HumHub is a free, open-source private social network and collaboration platform: Spaces for teams and communities, a shared feed of posts, comments and polls, member profiles, uploads, modules and themes. This template deploys version 1.18.5.

Is HumHub free?

Yes — the HumHub Community Edition this template deploys is free and open source under the AGPL-3.0-or-later license. What you pay xCloud for is the dedicated server it runs on and the management around it, not the application itself. Review upstream licensing before distributing modifications or adding commercial modules.

Can I self-host HumHub?

Yes — that is exactly what this template deploys. It brings up the official HumHub 1.18.5 image alongside a private MariaDB 11.8.3 service, both pinned by immutable digest, mounts the humhub_data and humhub_db volumes, and publishes it over HTTPS on your domain in minutes instead of assembled by hand.

How do I create the first administrator account?

Through HumHub's own installer, not a credential xCloud hands you. Open your HTTPS URL after deployment, confirm the supplied database settings in the installer, and create the first administrator there yourself. No default or generated administrator credential is shipped with this template.

What does xCloud configure automatically?

The HumHub site URL, the private MariaDB service and its generated database credentials, both persistent volumes, the domain and the HTTPS route. Only the HumHub web interface is published through xCloud-managed HTTPS — MariaDB stays private to the Compose network.

What should I back up?

humhub_data and humhub_db together, from the same maintenance window. The application volume holds uploads, modules, configuration, themes and runtime data; the database volume holds MariaDB state. A database-only backup is not a complete HumHub backup — quiesce writes or stop the application during a coordinated snapshot, keep encrypted off-server copies, and test restoration on a disposable installation.

Does xCloud automatically back up or update HumHub?

No. The template pins HumHub 1.18.5 and MariaDB 11.8.3 by immutable digest; a catalog re-sync affects new installations only. Review HumHub and MariaDB release notes, take a coordinated backup, and test the upgrade and restore path before changing either image.

What are the server requirements?

The template manifest asks for 2048 MB of RAM, two CPU cores and 10 GB of disk as a floor. This page sells the 6 GB tier, headroom above that floor for MariaDB running alongside the application as your community grows.

What survives a restart?

Everything on humhub_data and humhub_db, because both are persistent named volumes. Restarting the containers does not touch your Spaces, posts, uploads, modules or the MariaDB database — do not delete either volume during routine restart or upgrade work.

Is email set up out of the box?

No. This template does not configure SMTP. Configure trusted SMTP inside HumHub before enabling invitations, password-reset email, or any other email-dependent account flow.

How do I rotate the database password safely?

Change the password inside MariaDB first, update the matching HumHub and MariaDB values in xCloud's Environment editor, then redeploy and verify sign-in before discarding the old record. Changing only the Environment editor breaks connectivity, and the root and application database passwords should stay distinct.

Is xCloud officially partnered with HumHub?

No. No official partnership or endorsement between xCloud and the HumHub project has been verified. This is a deployment and server-management option for the open-source HumHub project.

Can I run other apps on the same server?

Yes. It is a dedicated Cloud VPS, not a locked appliance, so you can deploy other OneClick apps or your own sites beside it as long as the resources are there.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. There is no lock-in — cancel any time. Hosting is billed monthly and charged for what you actually use, so when you delete the server the unused balance is refunded to your account, less up to 10% in payment-processing fees.
