LinguaCafe Hosting Live In 5 Minutes

Deploy LinguaCafe hosting and read your way into a language from your own texts, on your own domain. xCloud runs the pinned LinguaCafe 0.14.1 images with a private MySQL 8.4 database, Redis and the spaCy tokenizer service, creates your administrator account from the email you enter with a generated password, mounts persistent volumes for your library and vocabulary, and publishes it over HTTPS in minutes.

What is LinguaCafe?

LinguaCafe is a free, self-hosted tool that helps language learners acquire vocabulary by reading. It provides a set of tools to read, look up unknown words and review them later as effortlessly as possible.

You bring the material — texts, e-books, subtitles or web pages — and read it in the built-in reader. Upstream lists 27 supported languages, with a different level of support for each. This template deploys version 0.14.1.

From Sign-Up to a Live Reader In Just 3 Easy Steps

A LinguaCafe stack normally means a web app with a queue worker and websocket server, a tokenizer service, MySQL, Redis, volumes, a domain and a certificate before the first page is imported. This is the same result without assembling any of it.

  1. Step 01

Create your xCloud account and pick LinguaCafe from the OneClick catalog. Choose your domain and target server, then enter the administrator email — that is the only field.

  2. Step 02

    We Deploy It For You

One click. We bring up the official LinguaCafe web and tokenizer images, pinned by immutable digest, with private MySQL and Redis services kept off the public internet, mount the linguacafe_storage, linguacafe_database and linguacafe_redis volumes, generate the administrator password and database credentials, and publish it over HTTPS on your domain.

  3. Step 03

Sign In And Add A Language

Open your HTTPS LinguaCafe URL — the first start runs database setup and can take a few minutes — and sign in with your administrator email and the generated password. In Admin settings, install the spaCy model for each language you want to study and add the dictionaries you want, then import your first text.

Everything LinguaCafe Does, On Your Own Server

LinguaCafe runs in full here: a reader, vocabulary list and review tool on your own domain, with your library kept in volumes you control.

  • A Personal Library Of Your Own Texts

Import plain text, text files, e-books, YouTube transcripts, subtitle files and web pages into one library.

  • Click Any Word In The Reader

Click a word while reading to see its lemma, add your own translation and set a familiarity level.

  • Vocabulary Search And Review

Search the words you have saved and review them with the built-in spaced-repetition review.

  • Dictionaries You Choose

No dictionary content is preinstalled; an administrator adds dictionaries under Admin settings, and saving words with your own translations works without one.

  • Live Import Progress Over HTTPS

The websocket for live import progress is served on the same domain, so progress updates work over HTTPS with nothing extra to open.

  • Private Database And Queue

MySQL, Redis and the tokenizer service have no published ports and are reachable only inside the install's private network.

Everything You Need To Run Your Language Reader 24/7

Managed hosting for LinguaCafe, so the parts that keep it online are not your problem.

  • LinguaCafe 0.14.1 deployed instantly
  • Official images pinned by digest
  • Administrator password generated for you
  • Private MySQL, Redis and tokenizer
  • Free SSL certificate
  • Server backups and snapshots
  • Server security updates included
  • 30+ server locations
  • Unused balance refunded

What You Can Do With LinguaCafe

  • Read real material in the language you are learning

Import an article, an e-book chapter, a YouTube transcript, a subtitle file or a web page and read it with word lookup built into the page.

  • Build a vocabulary from what you actually read

Save words as you meet them, add your own translation and mark how familiar each one is, then search the list whenever you need it.

  • Review saved words on a schedule

Use the built-in spaced-repetition review to come back to the words you have saved, instead of exporting them to another tool first.

  • Keep a private library on your own server

Your texts, vocabulary and database live in volumes on a server you control, behind a login, with no open sign-up page.

See why agencies, developers, startups, and growing businesses choose xCloud to power their projects.

xCloud works really well, I am surprised by its performance being this the release version, I have tried many paid platforms such as runcloud, cloudpages or serveravatar, as well as free platforms such as CyberPanel, CloudPanel or Hestia Control Panel and direct competitors such as SpinupWP and FlyWP. Of all those that I have tried, the platform that works best for WordPress is SpinupWP and I believe that xCloud can reach and surpass that development, its roadmap is promising. Congratulations to the xCloud team, I hope they become the leading platform in the segment, it has all the potential to achieve it!
Brian Geovanny
I've been with runcloud for the last 3 years. However, after trying xcloud for the last month, I'm switching over. They are on a roll with their setup.

I'm moving my servers to xCloud, a cloud control panel by M Asif Rahman and the WPDeveloper team. Their roadmap looks interesting and no, there are no team mates nor API limits with xCloud! #xCloud #wordpress #hosting

xCloud is like having an expert server team on call — without the big agency costs. It's given me back my time and given my clients peace of mind. Highly recommended for freelancers and small teams who want reliable performance and security.

xCloud isn't just a solution. It's like one of that friend who got your back when you screw things up pretty bad.

Trust me when I say, once people explore the potential of xCloud they gonna switch from other panels, just keep delivering the best tech, lots of love for the team 😍😍

So far my experience has been smooth like silk. I didn't imagine that configuring and managing a VPS would be so easy. As of today, I have deployed 8 sites. The support is good, and they treat users with respect, even if they ask stupid questions (myself included). For the future, I hope for greater flexibility in scheduled backups and more comprehensive and consistent documentation. I'm sure that within a few months, xCloud will become the leader in its segment. This community is amazing, and the Staff here is super helpful.

Came from cloudways then to runcloud then to xcloud. Looks like I'm staying here.
Gerson El
I've recently taken all of my Vultr-hosted sites and gotten rid of cPanel for them to substitute it with xCloud. I have to say, I'm really impressed with xCloud so far! The interface is definitely the standout feature for me.
Tony Lewis
I came from Cloudways and won't go back. Highly impressed with xCloud. Glad I gave them a chance.
Jared McDowell
I like xCloud better than RunCloud, but one thing I'll point out is that some years ago RunCloud was hungry for business, the support was outstanding, and the community was active and helped each other. Maybe it was sold, there was a change in management, or they stopped being hungry, but the quality of the RunCloud offering declined and it hasn't been moving forward quickly. My point is that currently the xCloud team has the edge and it is theirs to keep or lose

Dear xCloud Team, I have been using xCloud for some time now and am genuinely impressed with its capabilities and the flexibility it offers by allowing users to bring their own VPS for management. It's a fantastic service, and my experience so far has been very positive. Successful migrated 5 sites on a single server. Xcloud migration tool worked great. There were few hiccups with security plugin like MalCare but disabling the plugin prior to migration worked just fine.

Frequently Asked Questions

Feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns you may have.

How do I sign in?

Use the administrator email you entered at install and the generated password from the installation credentials. The first start runs database setup and can take a few minutes, so reload until the login screen appears.

Can anyone register?

No. There is no open sign-up page. Only a signed-in user can add more users, and any signed-in user can do so, so share logins only with people you trust. Upstream also states that only one user per server is supported at this time.

What runs alongside LinguaCafe?

A MySQL 8.4 database, Redis and a Python (spaCy) tokenizer service, all private to the site with no published ports.

Do I need to set up languages and dictionaries myself?

Yes. In Admin settings, install the spaCy model for each language you want to study and add the dictionaries you want to use. No dictionary content is preinstalled, so lookups stay empty until you add one. Models and dictionaries are downloaded from the internet, so the server needs outbound access and free disk space.

Which content can I import?

Plain text, text files, e-books, YouTube transcripts, subtitle files and web pages.

Does it run on ARM servers?

No. The tokenizer image is published for amd64 only, so install LinguaCafe on an amd64 server.

What should I back up?

The three named volumes — linguacafe_storage (uploads, models, app files), linguacafe_database (MySQL data) and linguacafe_redis (cache and queues) — together with the stable values in the environment file. LinguaCafe also offers an in-app SQL backup under Admin settings. Keep the generated administrator password and application key private.

Can I change the application key after install?

No. The application key is generated at install and must not change afterwards, or every user is signed out.

Does xCloud automatically back up or update LinguaCafe?

No. The template pins LinguaCafe 0.14.1 by immutable digest; new installations use the pinned release, existing sites are not automatically upgraded. Back up first, read the upstream release notes, then bump the readable tag and digest together on your own schedule. Server-level backups and snapshots are available on every Cloud VPS.

What are the server requirements, and why does this page sell 6 GB?

The template's baseline asks for 1 CPU core, 2048 MB of RAM and 10 GB of disk; measured idle use in QA was about 0.65 GiB across the stack. Upstream notes that memory use can pass 2 GB once many languages are installed. This page sells the 6 GB tier as the entry rung, with real headroom above that baseline.

What survives a restart?

Your library, vocabulary and database, which live on the persistent named volumes and survived an xCloud Restart in QA.

Is xCloud officially partnered with LinguaCafe?

No. No official partnership or endorsement between xCloud and the LinguaCafe project has been verified. This is a deployment and server-management option for the open-source LinguaCafe project.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. There is no lock-in — cancel any time. Hosting is billed monthly and charged for what you actually use, so when you delete the server the unused balance is refunded to your account, less up to 10% in payment-processing fees.
