Meerkat CRM Hosting Live In 5 Minutes

Deploy Meerkat CRM hosting and keep the people who matter on your own server. xCloud runs the pinned Meerkat CRM 1.7.0 image, creates the administrator account at install with a generated password, closes public registration, mounts persistent volumes for the database and profile photos, and publishes it over HTTPS in minutes — with CardDAV served on the same domain for syncing contacts to your phone.

What is Meerkat CRM?

Meerkat CRM is an open-source, self-hosted solution for keeping track of your important contacts. Upstream describes it as a digital rolodex that reminds you of birthdays and helps you remember details such as dietary habits or the names of a contact's spouse.

The web interface and the Go backend ship in a single all-in-one container with an SQLite database. This template deploys version 1.7.0 and pins the official image by immutable digest.

From Sign-Up to Your Own Contact Book In Just 3 Easy Steps

Self-hosting a personal CRM normally means a container, persistent volumes, a signing secret, a first user, a domain and a certificate before the first contact is saved. This is the same result without assembling any of it.

  1. Step 01

Create your xCloud account and pick Meerkat CRM from the OneClick catalog. Choose your domain and target server, then enter the administrator username and email — the password is generated for you.

  2. Step 02

    We Deploy It For You

One click. We start the official Meerkat CRM image, pinned by immutable digest, run a one-shot seed container that creates your administrator account and exits, mount the meerkat_data and meerkat_photos volumes, generate the signing secret, and publish it over HTTPS on your domain.

  3. Step 03

    Add Your First Contact

Save the administrator password from the protected installation credentials, open your HTTPS Meerkat CRM URL and sign in. Add your first contact, or import a CSV or VCF file. Your CardDAV address is the same domain at /carddav/.

Everything Meerkat CRM Does, On Your Own Server

Meerkat CRM runs in full here: contacts, notes, reminders and CardDAV sync on your own domain, stored in a database you own.

  • Contacts And Circles

Store and search contacts, group them into circles such as friends, family or work, and record how people are related, such as spouses or children.

  • Notes And Activities Timeline

Each contact has a social-network-style timeline of notes and activities, and activities can involve one or several contacts.

  • Birthday And Keep-In-Touch Reminders

See upcoming birthdays and set keep-in-touch reminders. Email notifications need SMTP or Resend settings added in the Environment editor.

  • CardDAV Phone Sync

A built-in CardDAV server gives two-way sync with your phone's contact list, served at /carddav/ on the same domain.

  • Import And Export

Import from CSV, VCF and Monica, and export your data to CSV and VCF.

  • Registration Closed By Default

Public registration is closed at install, so only the administrator account can sign in until you add users or change the setting.

What You Can Do With Meerkat CRM

  • Remember the details about people

Keep notes, activities and relationships in one timeline per contact, so you can recall what you last talked about before you next meet.

  • Stay in touch with friends and family

Group contacts into circles such as friends, family or work, and use birthday and keep-in-touch reminders so nobody slips away.

  • Sync contacts with your phone

Point a CardDAV client at your own domain and keep your phone's contact list in two-way sync, without a third-party contact service.

  • Move contacts in from another tool

Import from CSV, VCF or Monica to start with your existing data, and export to CSV or VCF whenever you want a copy.

Hear what people are saying about us

See why agencies, developers, startups, and growing businesses choose xCloud to power their projects.

xCloud works really well, I am surprised by its performance being this the release version, I have tried many paid platforms such as runcloud, cloudpages or serveravatar, as well as free platforms such as CyberPanel, CloudPanel or Hestia Control Panel and direct competitors such as SpinupWP and FlyWP. Of all those that I have tried, the platform that works best for WordPress is SpinupWP and I believe that xCloud can reach and surpass that development, its roadmap is promising. Congratulations to the xCloud team, I hope they become the leading platform in the segment, it has all the potential to achieve it!
Brian Geovanny
I've been with runcloud for the last 3 years. However, after trying xcloud for the last month, I'm switching over. They are on a roll with their setup.
Kevin Pineda
I'm moving my servers to xCloud, a cloud control panel by M Asif Rahman and the WPDeveloper team. Their roadmap looks interesting and no, there are no team mates nor API limits with xCloud! #xCloud #wordpress #hosting

xCloud is like having an expert server team on call — without the big agency costs. It's given me back my time and given my clients peace of mind. Highly recommended for freelancers and small teams who want reliable performance and security.

xCloud isn't just a solution. It's like one of that friend who got your back when you screw things up pretty bad.

Trust me when I say, once people explore the potential of xCloud they gonna switch from other panels, just keep delivering the best tech, lots of love for the team 😍😍

So far my experience has been smooth like silk. I didn't imagine that configuring and managing a VPS would be so easy. As of today, I have deployed 8 sites. The support is good, and they treat users with respect, even if they ask stupid questions (myself included). For the future, I hope for greater flexibility in scheduled backups and more comprehensive and consistent documentation. I'm sure that within a few months, xCloud will become the leader in its segment. This community is amazing, and the Staff here is super helpful.
Massimo Villa
Came from cloudways then to runcloud then to xcloud. Looks like I'm staying here.
Gerson El
I've recently taken all of my Vultr-hosted sites and gotten rid of cPanel for them to substitute it with xCloud. I have to say, I'm really impressed with xCloud so far! The interface is definitely the standout feature for me.
Tony Lewis
I came from Cloudways and won't go back. Highly impressed with xCloud. Glad I gave them a chance.
Jared McDowell
I like xCloud better than RunCloud, but one thing I'll point out is that some years ago RunCloud was hungry for business, the support was outstanding, and the community was active and helped each other. Maybe it was sold, there was a change in management, or they stopped being hungry, but the quality of the RunCloud offering declined and it hasn't been moving forward quickly. My point is that currently the xCloud team has the edge and it is theirs to keep or lose

Dear xCloud Team, I have been using xCloud for some time now and am genuinely impressed with its capabilities and the flexibility it offers by allowing users to bring their own VPS for management. It's a fantastic service, and my experience so far has been very positive. Successful migrated 5 sites on a single server. Xcloud migration tool worked great. There were few hiccups with security plugin like MalCare but disabling the plugin prior to migration worked just fine.

Frequently Asked Questions

Feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns you may have.

What makes Meerkat CRM different from a business CRM?

It is built for personal relationships: birthdays, family members, keep-in-touch reminders and a network graph rather than sales pipelines.

How do I sign in?

Use the administrator username and password from the protected installation credentials. The account is created at install from the username, email and generated password you provide.

Can I sync contacts with my phone?

Yes. Point a CardDAV client at https://your-domain/carddav/ and sign in with your Meerkat account.

What runs alongside Meerkat CRM?

Nothing persistent. The web interface and backend run in one container with an SQLite database. A one-shot seed container creates the administrator account on first start and then exits.

Can other people register?

Not by default: public registration is closed at install, so only the administrator account can sign in. Add more users from the administrator panel, or set DISABLE_REGISTRATION=false in the Environment editor to allow self-registration. The sign-in page still shows a Register link while registration is closed, and it leads to a dead page; this is upstream cosmetic behaviour.

Do reminder emails work right away?

No. Birthday and keep-in-touch reminders are shown in the app, but email notifications need SMTP or Resend settings added in the Environment editor.

What should I back up?

The meerkat_data volume (the SQLite database) and the meerkat_photos volume (profile photos), plus the stable .env values. Keep the generated administrator password and JWT_SECRET_KEY private.

Can I change JWT_SECRET_KEY or the ADMIN_* values later?

Do not change JWT_SECRET_KEY after the first start: stored calendar passwords are encrypted with a key derived from it and would have to be entered again. Editing the ADMIN_* values later does not change the existing account; change the password inside Meerkat.

Are there upload limits?

Uploads are limited to 10 MB, and CSV imports to 5 MB.

Does xCloud automatically back up or update Meerkat CRM?

No. The template pins Meerkat CRM 1.7.0 by immutable digest; new installations use the pinned release, existing sites are not automatically upgraded. Back up first, read the upstream release notes, then bump the readable tag and digest together on your own schedule. Server-level backups and snapshots are available on every Cloud VPS.

What are the server requirements, and why does this page sell 6 GB?

The template's baseline asks for 1 CPU core, 256 MB of RAM and 2 GB of disk; measured idle use in QA was about 31 MiB. This page sells the 6 GB tier as the entry rung of the OneClick plans, which leaves far more headroom than the baseline needs.

What survives a restart?

Contacts, notes and the administrator login survive an xCloud Restart, because the database and photos live on persistent named volumes.

Is xCloud officially partnered with Meerkat CRM?

No. No official partnership or endorsement between xCloud and the Meerkat CRM project has been verified. This is a deployment and server-management option for the open-source Meerkat CRM project.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. There is no lock-in — cancel any time. Hosting is billed monthly and charged for what you actually use, so when you delete the server the unused balance is refunded to your account, less up to 10% in payment-processing fees.
