Deploy Open Design hosting and give your team a private design workspace for prototypes, decks and live artifacts on your own domain. xCloud runs the pinned Open Design 0.24.1 image as a single container, generates a 64-character access token, mounts a persistent volume for projects, uploads and the SQLite database, and publishes the workspace over HTTPS in minutes — every page and API call requires the token.
Open Design is an open-source design workspace, positioned upstream as an open-source alternative to Claude Design. You describe what you need in a conversation and it generates prototypes for web, desktop and mobile, decks, documents, images and HyperFrames motion graphics as real HTML and CSS, with a live preview beside the chat.
Brand rules live in DESIGN.md design systems, work is extended with reusable skills and plugins, and finished artifacts export to HTML, PDF, PPTX or MP4. It is licensed under Apache-2.0.
Self-hosting Open Design normally means a container, an access token, a data volume, a reverse proxy, a domain and a certificate before the first prototype. This is the same result without assembling any of it.
Step 01
Create your xCloud account and pick Open Design from the OneClick catalog. Choose your domain and target server — there are no extra fields to fill in.
Step 02
One click. We bring up the official Open Design image, pinned by immutable digest, as a single container with no separate database, mount the open_design_data volume, generate the access token, lock the allowed browser origin to your domain, and publish it over HTTPS.
Step 03
Save the token from your installation credentials, open your HTTPS Open Design URL and sign in with the username open-design and the token as the password. Then connect a model through BYOK (any OpenAI-compatible endpoint) and create your first project.
Open Design runs here as a private web workspace on your own domain, with its projects and database on a volume you control.
Generate web, desktop and mobile prototypes, decks, documents, images and HyperFrames motion graphics, all inside one project Studio.
The conversation, generated files and a live preview of the rendered result stay together in the Studio, so you can iterate in place.
Finished work is real HTML and CSS that exports to HTML, PDF, PPTX or MP4 instead of staying locked in a canvas.
Keep brand consistency with DESIGN.md design systems, reusable skills and plugins that the agent reads when it creates.
Connect any OpenAI-compatible endpoint with your own key (BYOK). The xCloud image does not bundle coding-agent CLIs or models.
Browsers sign in with HTTP Basic Auth and API clients send the same token as a Bearer header; in QA, unauthenticated and wrong-credential requests through the public domain all returned 401.
Managed hosting for Open Design, so the parts that keep it online are not your problem.
Turn a written brief into a web, desktop or mobile prototype and refine it in the same project while watching the rendered result.
Create multi-slide presentations and multi-page documents, then export them to PPTX or PDF when they are ready to share.
Capture a brand's visual language in a DESIGN.md design system so everything the workspace generates follows the same rules.
Use any OpenAI-compatible endpoint you already pay for, so model access and spend stay under your control rather than a vendor's.
Run the workspace on your own domain where every page and API call needs the token, so projects and uploads stay on your server.

xCloud works really well, I am surprised by its performance being this the release version, I have tried many paid platforms such as runcloud, cloudpages or serveravatar, as well as free platforms such as CyberPanel, CloudPanel or Hestia Control Panel and direct competitors such as SpinupWP and FlyWP. Of all those that I have tried, the platform that works best for WordPress is SpinupWP and I believe that xCloud can reach and surpass that development, its roadmap is promising. Congratulations to the xCloud team, I hope they become the leading platform in the segment, it has all the potential to achieve it!
Brian GeovannyI've been with runcloud for the last 3 years. However, after trying xcloud for the last month, I'm switching over. They are on a roll with their setup.
Kevin PinedaI'm moving my servers to xCloud, a cloud control panel by M Asif Rahman and the WPDeveloper team. Their roadmap looks interesting and no, there are no team mates nor API limits with xCloud! #xCloud #wordpress #hosting
Leo KooHow Cloud Nine Web Elevated Client Experience While Streamlining Hosting Operations using xCloud
Ed EllinghamxCloud is like having an expert server team on call — without the big agency costs. It's given me back my time and given my clients peace of mind. Highly recommended for freelancers and small teams who want reliable performance and security.
Dumitru ButucelxCloud isn't just a solution. It's like one of that friend who got your back when you screw things up pretty bad.
Waqar AhmedTrust me when I say, once people explore the potential of xCloud they gonna switch from other panels, just keep delivering the best tech, lots of love for the team 😍😍
Rahul SinghSo far my experience has been smooth like silk. I didn't imagine that configuring and managing a VPS would be so easy. As of today, I have deployed 8 sites. The support is good, and they treat users with respect, even if they ask stupid questions (myself included). For the future, I hope for greater flexibility in scheduled backups and more comprehensive and consistent documentation. I'm sure that within a few months, xCloud will become the leader in its segment. This community is amazing, and the Staff here is super helpful.
Massimo VillaCame from cloudways then to runcloud then to xcloud. Looks like I'm staying here.
Gerson ElI've recently taken all of my Vultr-hosted sites and gotten rid of cPanel for them to substitute it with xCloud. I have to say, I'm really impressed with xCloud so far! The interface is definitely the standout feature for me.
Tony LewisI came from Cloudways and won't go back. Highly impressed with xCloud. Glad I gave them a chance.
Jared McDowellI like xCloud better than RunCloud, but one thing I'll point out is that some years ago RunCloud was hungry for business, the support was outstanding, and the community was active and helped each other. Maybe it was sold, there was a change in management, or they stopped being hungry, but the quality of the RunCloud offering declined and it hasn't been moving forward quickly. My point is that currently the xCloud team has the edge and it is theirs to keep or lose
David McCanHow Kevin Heinrichs Cut Hosting Costs by 84% While Running WooCommerce & Node.js Sites Efficiently
Kevin HeinrichsI had 150 sites on cloudways and am in the process of moving them to xcloud. Much faster and better priced.
Dan SpinozaDear xCloud Team, I have been using xCloud for some time now and am genuinely impressed with its capabilities and the flexibility it offers by allowing users to bring their own VPS for management. It's a fantastic service, and my experience so far has been very positive. Successful migrated 5 sites on a single server. Xcloud migration tool worked great. There were few hiccups with security plugin like MalCare but disabling the plugin prior to migration worked just fine.
Rahil MaknojiaCame from runcloud. Tried xcloud and never came back.

Gary MoodyxCloud gave me what no other hosting platform could: the flexibility of a VPS with the convenience of managed WordPress. As a solo founder running an entire business on one server, that combination is an important unfair advantage.
Jorge de los Reyes MartínezI use Server Avatar and xCloud and I'll sooner use xCloud than Server Avatar personally.

John ApertureI went from Cloudways to xCloud. No intention on switching in the foreseeable future.

Use open-design as the username and the generated token from your installation credentials as the password. The same token works as a Bearer token (Authorization: Bearer <token>) for the API.
No. Connect your own model through BYOK (any OpenAI-compatible endpoint) or a separately supported runtime. The xCloud image does not bundle coding-agent CLIs such as Claude Code or Codex.
Yes. Every page and API call requires the generated token, and anonymous requests are rejected. In QA, unauthenticated, wrong-credential and spoofed-forwarding requests through the public domain all returned 401, and the allowed browser origin is locked to your HTTPS domain.
Nothing. It is a single container with its own SQLite database, published only through xCloud-managed HTTPS, and it runs as a non-root user on a read-only filesystem.
Finished work exports to HTML, PDF, PPTX or MP4.
The open_design_data volume, which holds the SQLite database, projects and uploads, together with the site's Environment values, especially OD_API_TOKEN. Test a restore before relying on it.
OD_API_TOKEN and the allowed browser origin are applied when the service starts. After changing either in the Environment editor, Save & Redeploy. Treat the token like a password, because it gates both the browser and the API.
Some optional integrations are not included in the image and show errors in the browser console. Core project features are unaffected. Upstream's /api/version also still reports 0.23.1 for the 0.24.1 build, which is an upstream labelling quirk.
Projects, uploads and the SQLite database on the open_design_data persistent volume survive an xCloud Restart.
No. The template pins Open Design 0.24.1 by immutable digest; new installations use the pinned release and existing sites stay pinned until updated. Read the upstream release notes, then bump the readable image tag and digest together on your own schedule. Server-level backups and snapshots are available on every Cloud VPS.
The template's baseline asks for 1 CPU core, 384 MB of RAM and 2 GB of disk; measured idle use in QA was about 103 to 135 MiB. Larger projects, exports and concurrent agent runs may need more, so this page sells the 6 GB tier as the entry rung, with real headroom above that baseline.
No. No official partnership or endorsement between xCloud and the Open Design project has been verified. This is a deployment and server-management option for the open-source Open Design project.
Yes. There is no lock-in — cancel any time. Hosting is billed monthly and charged for what you actually use, so when you delete the server the unused balance is refunded to your account, less up to 10% in payment-processing fees.
Connect your first server in minutes. No credit card required, and no plan you have to grow into.
