Presidio Hosting Live In 5 Minutes

Presidio hosting on xCloud lets you deploy Presidio and run your own PII detection API on a server you control. Send text to the Analyzer and get back the personal data it finds, such as names, emails, phone numbers and card numbers, with a type and confidence score for each match. xCloud runs the pinned Analyzer 2.2.364 behind a Caddy gateway with HTTPS and Basic Authentication.

What is Presidio?

Presidio helps ensure that sensitive data is properly managed and governed. Upstream's documentation describes fast identification and anonymization modules for private entities in text and images, such as credit card numbers, names, locations, social security numbers and phone numbers. A self-hosted Presidio Analyzer is a PII detection API: you POST text to /analyze and it returns the entities it found, with an entity type and a confidence score. It is MIT licensed.

On xCloud the template deploys only the Analyzer, version 2.2.364, pinned by digest, behind a small Caddy gateway that adds Basic Authentication because the Analyzer has no login of its own. The Anonymizer, Image Redactor and optional Ollama sidecar are not included, so this detects personal data but does not redact it. There is no web interface and no data volume, because nothing is stored.

From Sign-Up to a Live Presidio In Just 3 Easy Steps

Self-hosting a PII detection API normally means wiring up a gateway, a TLS certificate and an auth layer before the first request can be sent. This is the same result without assembling any of it.

  1. Step 01

Create your xCloud account and pick Presidio from the OneClick catalog, choose a domain, and set the API username — or keep the default — and the generated password.

  2. Step 02

    We Deploy It For You

One click. We provision the server, bring up the pinned Presidio Analyzer image behind a Caddy gateway, and publish it over HTTPS on your domain with Basic Authentication in front.

  3. Step 03

    Start Using It

Save the credentials from your protected installation credentials, check /health with them once the language model finishes loading, then send your first request to /analyze.

Everything Presidio Does, On Your Own Server

The Presidio Analyzer runs in full here — every request is processed on your own server, not a shared multi-tenant API.

  • Detect PII In Any Text

Send text to /analyze and get back the personal data found, with entity type and confidence score for each match.

  • Stateless By Design

The Analyzer stores nothing — your text is processed and the response returned, with no sent text found in logs during verification.

  • Basic Auth On Every Route

The whole API sits behind HTTP Basic Authentication through a gateway, since the Analyzer itself has no login of its own.

  • Discovery Endpoints Included

Query the supported entities and recognizers for your language, plus a health check endpoint, alongside /analyze.

  • Built For Pipelines

A headless API with no web interface, suited to data-cleaning jobs, compliance tooling and automated pipelines rather than manual browsing.

  • Nothing To Restore

The service is stateless, so a verified restart left it healthy and still authenticated with nothing to recover.

Everything You Need To Run Your PII Detection 24/7

Managed hosting for the Presidio Analyzer, so the parts that keep it online are not your problem.

  • Presidio Analyzer 2.2.364 deployed instantly
  • Names, emails, phones and card numbers detected
  • Entity and recognizer discovery endpoints
  • Basic Auth credentials provisioned for you
  • Free SSL certificate
  • Server backups and snapshots
  • Server security updates included
  • 30+ server locations
  • Unused balance refunded

What You Can Do With Presidio

  • Scan text before it leaves your systems

A data engineer calls /analyze on support tickets or logs to flag names, emails and card numbers before they are exported.

  • Add PII checks to a pipeline

Call the headless API from a data-cleaning job or a compliance script and act on the entity types and scores it returns.

  • Keep sensitive text on your own server

Send text to your own domain over HTTPS instead of a third party's API, so the content is processed on a server you control.

  • Check which entities your language supports

Query the supported entities and recognizers endpoints to see what the Analyzer can detect before you build around it.

Presidio vs Alternatives

Hosted PII detection services
Cloud services that scan text for personal data on the vendor's servers. A Presidio alternative to hosted PII detection runs on your own Cloud VPS, so the text you send is processed there and the Analyzer stores nothing.
Regex rules
In a Presidio vs regex comparison, Presidio combines predefined and custom recognizers that use named entity recognition, regular expressions, rule-based logic and checksums, and returns a confidence score with each match.
Presidio Anonymizer
Upstream's anonymization module redacts or replaces what the Analyzer finds. It is not part of this template, which deploys detection only.
Password Pusher
Password Pusher has its own OneClick page. It shares secrets through expiring links rather than detecting personal data in text.

Hear what people are saying about us

See why agencies, developers, startups, and growing businesses choose xCloud to power their projects.

xCloud works really well, I am surprised by its performance being this the release version, I have tried many paid platforms such as runcloud, cloudpages or serveravatar, as well as free platforms such as CyberPanel, CloudPanel or Hestia Control Panel and direct competitors such as SpinupWP and FlyWP. Of all those that I have tried, the platform that works best for WordPress is SpinupWP and I believe that xCloud can reach and surpass that development, its roadmap is promising. Congratulations to the xCloud team, I hope they become the leading platform in the segment, it has all the potential to achieve it!
Brian Geovanny
I've been with runcloud for the last 3 years. However, after trying xcloud for the last month, I'm switching over. They are on a roll with their setup.

I'm moving my servers to xCloud, a cloud control panel by M Asif Rahman and the WPDeveloper team. Their roadmap looks interesting and no, there are no team mates nor API limits with xCloud! #xCloud #wordpress #hosting

xCloud is like having an expert server team on call — without the big agency costs. It's given me back my time and given my clients peace of mind. Highly recommended for freelancers and small teams who want reliable performance and security.

xCloud isn't just a solution. It's like one of that friend who got your back when you screw things up pretty bad.

Trust me when I say, once people explore the potential of xCloud they gonna switch from other panels, just keep delivering the best tech, lots of love for the team 😍😍

So far my experience has been smooth like silk. I didn't imagine that configuring and managing a VPS would be so easy. As of today, I have deployed 8 sites. The support is good, and they treat users with respect, even if they ask stupid questions (myself included). For the future, I hope for greater flexibility in scheduled backups and more comprehensive and consistent documentation. I'm sure that within a few months, xCloud will become the leader in its segment. This community is amazing, and the Staff here is super helpful.

Came from cloudways then to runcloud then to xcloud. Looks like I'm staying here.

I've recently taken all of my Vultr-hosted sites and gotten rid of cPanel for them to substitute it with xCloud. I have to say, I'm really impressed with xCloud so far! The interface is definitely the standout feature for me.
Tony Lewis
I came from Cloudways and won't go back. Highly impressed with xCloud. Glad I gave them a chance.
Jared McDowell
I like xCloud better than RunCloud, but one thing I'll point out is that some years ago RunCloud was hungry for business, the support was outstanding, and the community was active and helped each other. Maybe it was sold, there was a change in management, or they stopped being hungry, but the quality of the RunCloud offering declined and it hasn't been moving forward quickly. My point is that currently the xCloud team has the edge and it is theirs to keep or lose

Dear xCloud Team, I have been using xCloud for some time now and am genuinely impressed with its capabilities and the flexibility it offers by allowing users to bring their own VPS for management. It's a fantastic service, and my experience so far has been very positive. Successful migrated 5 sites on a single server. Xcloud migration tool worked great. There were few hiccups with security plugin like MalCare but disabling the plugin prior to migration worked just fine.

Frequently Asked Questions

Feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns you may have.

Is Presidio free?

Yes. Presidio is MIT licensed, so you can run the Analyzer without paying the project anything or counting requests. Your cost is the Cloud VPS, which must hold the language model in memory while it serves calls.

How much RAM does Presidio need?

The manifest asks for 1 CPU core, 1024 MB of RAM and 6 GB of disk, and QA measured about 760 MiB at idle with one worker. Each extra worker loads the full language model again, so the 6 GB plan gives room to add some.

Can you self-host Presidio with Docker?

Yes, and this template is Presidio Docker hosting without the gateway work: the Analyzer 2.2.364 image pinned by digest behind a pinned Caddy gateway, Basic Authentication on every route and HTTPS on your domain. The language model ships inside the image.

How do I send text to the Presidio Analyzer API?

POST JSON to /analyze with a text and a language field, using your Basic Authentication login. The first start loads the language model and takes about a minute, so check /health first. Other routes list the supported entities and recognizers.

Does Presidio store the text I send?

No. The Analyzer is stateless, so your text is processed and the response returned, and verification found no sent text in the logs. The text travels over HTTPS and is processed on your own server.

Does Presidio include the anonymizer?

No. This template runs the Analyzer only. The Anonymizer, Image Redactor and optional Ollama services from the upstream project are not included, so the API finds personal data but does not redact or replace it.

What happens if I send a bad request to Presidio?

Missing text or language, invalid JSON or an unsupported language all return HTTP 500 with a short reason. That is upstream behaviour, so read the response body as well as the status code before treating a call as a server fault.

How do I back up Presidio?

There is no data volume to back up, because the service is stateless and the language model ships inside the image. Keep your Basic Authentication credentials, which you can also rotate in the Environment editor.

How do I upgrade Presidio?

The install stays on Analyzer 2.2.364 until you adopt a newer template version. Read the release notes first, then replay a few of your own requests after you move; there is no data to carry over. Nothing upgrades the app automatically, so the timing stays yours.

Is there a Presidio cloud service I can use?

This page is your own Presidio cloud: a dedicated Cloud VPS running the open-source Analyzer for your own pipelines. Nobody else's traffic reaches it, and only holders of your Basic Authentication login can call it.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. There is no lock-in — cancel any time. Hosting is billed monthly and charged for what you actually use, so when you delete the server the unused balance is refunded to your account, less up to 10% in payment-processing fees.

Ready to Own Your PII Pipeline?

Your text, your server, your rules. Send your first request to /analyze once the language model has loaded.
