Semaphore UI Hosting Live In 5 Minutes

Run Ansible, Terraform, OpenTofu and other automation from a self-hosted browser dashboard, instead of a shared runner or a hosted automation service you don't control. xCloud configures the pinned Semaphore UI v2.19.12 image, a private PostgreSQL database and the HTTPS reverse proxy in minutes, and generates your first administrator account so you're signing in and creating a project right away.

From Sign-Up to a Live Semaphore UI Dashboard In Just 3 Easy Steps

Self-hosting an automation dashboard normally means an application server, a relational database, an encryption strategy for stored credentials, a reverse proxy and a domain and certificate before you can run a single task. This is the same result without assembling any of it.

  1. Step 01

Create your xCloud account and pick Semaphore UI from the OneClick catalog. Choose your domain and provide the initial administrator's username, name and email.

  2. Step 02

    We Deploy It For You

One click. We bring up the official Semaphore UI v2.19.12 image alongside a private PostgreSQL 17.6, both pinned by immutable digest, mount the semaphore_data and semaphore_db volumes, generate your administrator password and access-key encryption value, and publish it over HTTPS on your domain.

  3. Step 03

Sign In And Create A Project

Open the generated HTTPS URL and sign in with the administrator credentials from your installation notice. Create a project, then add a repository, inventory, key and task template for your automation.

Everything Semaphore UI Does, On Your Own Server

Semaphore UI runs in full here — projects, inventories, repositories, environments and task templates, on infrastructure you control.

  • Projects And Task Templates

Organize automation into projects, then define task templates for Ansible, Terraform, OpenTofu and other runners your team relies on.

  • Inventories, Repositories And Keys

Attach inventories, source repositories and access keys to a project, scoped and stored the way you choose to organize your infrastructure.

  • Environments And Variables

Define environments and variables per project so the same task template runs safely against staging or production without rewriting it.

  • Task Runs And History

Trigger runs from the dashboard or API and review task history, so what ran, when, and against which target is never a guess.

  • Private PostgreSQL Storage

Users, projects, inventories, keys, repositories, templates and task history all live in PostgreSQL — never exposed on a public port, only Semaphore's web app is.

  • Generated First Administrator

Your administrator account and access-key encryption value are generated at install time, so you sign in immediately instead of bootstrapping one by hand.

See why agencies, developers, startups, and growing businesses choose xCloud to power their projects.

xCloud works really well, I am surprised by its performance being this the release version, I have tried many paid platforms such as runcloud, cloudpages or serveravatar, as well as free platforms such as CyberPanel, CloudPanel or Hestia Control Panel and direct competitors such as SpinupWP and FlyWP. Of all those that I have tried, the platform that works best for WordPress is SpinupWP and I believe that xCloud can reach and surpass that development, its roadmap is promising. Congratulations to the xCloud team, I hope they become the leading platform in the segment, it has all the potential to achieve it!

I've been with runcloud for the last 3 years. However, after trying xcloud for the last month, I'm switching over. They are on a roll with their setup.

I'm moving my servers to xCloud, a cloud control panel by M Asif Rahman and the WPDeveloper team. Their roadmap looks interesting and no, there are no team mates nor API limits with xCloud! #xCloud #wordpress #hosting

xCloud is like having an expert server team on call — without the big agency costs. It's given me back my time and given my clients peace of mind. Highly recommended for freelancers and small teams who want reliable performance and security.

xCloud isn't just a solution. It's like one of that friend who got your back when you screw things up pretty bad.

Trust me when I say, once people explore the potential of xCloud they gonna switch from other panels, just keep delivering the best tech, lots of love for the team 😍😍

So far my experience has been smooth like silk. I didn't imagine that configuring and managing a VPS would be so easy. As of today, I have deployed 8 sites. The support is good, and they treat users with respect, even if they ask stupid questions (myself included). For the future, I hope for greater flexibility in scheduled backups and more comprehensive and consistent documentation. I'm sure that within a few months, xCloud will become the leader in its segment. This community is amazing, and the Staff here is super helpful.

Came from cloudways then to runcloud then to xcloud. Looks like I'm staying here.

I've recently taken all of my Vultr-hosted sites and gotten rid of cPanel for them to substitute it with xCloud. I have to say, I'm really impressed with xCloud so far! The interface is definitely the standout feature for me.
Tony Lewis
I came from Cloudways and won't go back. Highly impressed with xCloud. Glad I gave them a chance.
Jared McDowell
I like xCloud better than RunCloud, but one thing I'll point out is that some years ago RunCloud was hungry for business, the support was outstanding, and the community was active and helped each other. Maybe it was sold, there was a change in management, or they stopped being hungry, but the quality of the RunCloud offering declined and it hasn't been moving forward quickly. My point is that currently the xCloud team has the edge and it is theirs to keep or lose

Dear xCloud Team, I have been using xCloud for some time now and am genuinely impressed with its capabilities and the flexibility it offers by allowing users to bring their own VPS for management. It's a fantastic service, and my experience so far has been very positive. Successful migrated 5 sites on a single server. Xcloud migration tool worked great. There were few hiccups with security plugin like MalCare but disabling the plugin prior to migration worked just fine.

Frequently Asked Questions

Feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns you may have.

What is Semaphore UI?

Semaphore UI is a free, open-source browser interface and API for running Ansible, Terraform, OpenTofu, PowerShell and other automation tasks — projects, inventories, repositories, environments and task templates in one dashboard. This template deploys v2.19.12.

Is Semaphore UI free?

Yes — it is free and open source under the MIT license. What you pay xCloud for is the dedicated server it runs on and the management around it, not the software itself.

Can I self-host Semaphore UI?

Yes — that is exactly what this template deploys. It brings up the official Semaphore UI image alongside a private PostgreSQL database, both pinned by immutable digest, mounts two persistent volumes and publishes it over HTTPS on your domain in minutes instead of assembled by hand.

Who becomes the administrator, and how do I sign in?

You provide the administrator's username, name and email on the installation form; xCloud generates the administrator password. Both the credentials and the URL appear in your installation notice, and you sign in with them right away — nothing further to bootstrap.

What does xCloud configure automatically?

A private PostgreSQL database, the administrator password, a 32-character access-key encryption value, both persistent volumes, the domain, and the HTTPS route. Only Semaphore UI is published — PostgreSQL stays private on the internal network.

Does this template mount my server's Docker socket or SSH keys so Semaphore can run automation?

No. The template does not mount the host Docker socket, SSH directories or other host credentials. Add repository and target credentials inside Semaphore UI after installation, scoped only to what each project needs.

What is ACCESS_KEY_ENCRYPTION, and can I change it?

It's the generated value that protects access keys Semaphore stores for you. Keep it stable — changing or losing it can make previously saved keys unreadable. Back it up together with both persistent volumes, and restore all three together if you ever need to.

What should I back up?

semaphore_data and semaphore_db together, along with your access-key encryption value. semaphore_data holds Semaphore's runtime and local project data; semaphore_db holds PostgreSQL — users, projects, inventories, keys, repositories, templates and task history. A database-only backup is not a complete instance backup.

Does xCloud automatically back up or update Semaphore UI?

No. The template pins Semaphore UI and PostgreSQL by immutable digest; a catalog re-sync affects new installations only. Before changing either pin, back up both volumes and the access-key encryption value, review upstream release notes, then verify sign-in, projects and task runs afterward.

What are the server requirements, and why does this page sell 6 GB?

The template manifest asks for 2 GB of RAM, two CPU cores and 10 GB of disk as a floor for Semaphore UI alongside PostgreSQL. This page sells the 6 GB tier as the entry rung with real headroom above that floor for running automation tasks.

What survives a restart?

Everything on semaphore_data and semaphore_db, because both are persistent named volumes. Restarting the containers or running an xCloud lifecycle action does not touch your projects, inventories, repositories, keys, templates or task history.

Can I change my domain later?

You can, but treat it as a real reconfiguration, not a rename. The installation domain becomes Semaphore's configured web root; changing it later means updating that setting and re-checking anywhere the old URL was shared. Choose your final domain before inviting your team.

Is xCloud officially partnered with Semaphore UI?

No. No official partnership or endorsement between xCloud and Semaphore UI has been verified. This is a deployment and server-management option for the open-source Semaphore UI project.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. There is no lock-in — cancel any time. Hosting is billed monthly and charged for what you actually use, so when you delete the server the unused balance is refunded to your account, less up to 10% in payment-processing fees.
