SQL Chat hosting on xCloud lets you deploy SQL Chat, a chat-based SQL client, and ask your database questions in plain language on your own domain. xCloud runs the pinned SQL Chat main-7a63884 image behind a Basic Auth gateway, generates the admin password, keeps your OpenAI key on the server and publishes the app over HTTPS in minutes. Connections and chat history stay in your browser.
SQL Chat is a chat-based SQL client that uses natural language to communicate with the database, according to its README, to implement operations such as query, modification, addition and deletion. You connect your own database, describe what you want, and an AI assistant replies with SQL built from your table schema. It supports MySQL, PostgreSQL and SQL Server, among others. A self-hosted SQL Chat is MIT licensed.
On xCloud the template runs an xCloud-built image of upstream commit 7a638846, because SQL Chat publishes no release tags, pinned by digest behind a Caddy gateway that enforces Basic Authentication. It is the database-less build: connections and chat history live in your browser, with no volume on the server. The OpenAI key and endpoint you enter at install are read at container start.
A self-hosted SQL Chat normally means building an image, putting a login in front of it, wiring an API key, a domain and a certificate. This is the same result without assembling any of it.
Step 01
Create your xCloud account and pick SQL Chat from the OneClick catalog. Choose a domain, enter an admin username and your OpenAI API key; the endpoint defaults to https://api.openai.com.
Step 02
One click. We bring up the SQL Chat container, private on the install's network with no host ports, behind a Caddy gateway that enforces HTTP Basic Authentication with a generated 32-character password, and publish the gateway over HTTPS on your domain.
Step 03
Open your HTTPS URL and sign in with the username and the generated password from the installation credentials. Add a database connection from the sidebar, then ask your first question in plain language.
SQL Chat runs in full here: a chat interface for your own databases, answered by the AI endpoint you configure.
Describe what you want and the assistant replies with SQL you can run against the connected database.
Connect PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server and other databases from the sidebar.
The app reads your table schema and sends it with your prompt, so replies reference your real tables and columns.
Use OpenAI by default, or point the base URL at any OpenAI-compatible endpoint by editing the environment.
Connections and chat history are stored in your browser, so nothing about them sits on the server and a Restart loses nothing server-side.
The whole site, including API routes, sits behind HTTP Basic Authentication, so strangers cannot spend your OpenAI key.
Managed hosting for SQL Chat, so the parts that keep it online are not your problem.
Ask for the result you need in plain language and get a ready-to-run query for PostgreSQL, MySQL or SQL Server.
Because replies are built from your table schema, analysts can ask what a database holds before writing any SQL by hand.
The OpenAI key stays on the server behind a login, so people use it without ever seeing or copying it.
Point the base URL at an OpenAI-compatible endpoint instead of OpenAI when your team prefers another provider.

xCloud works really well, I am surprised by its performance being this the release version, I have tried many paid platforms such as runcloud, cloudpages or serveravatar, as well as free platforms such as CyberPanel, CloudPanel or Hestia Control Panel and direct competitors such as SpinupWP and FlyWP. Of all those that I have tried, the platform that works best for WordPress is SpinupWP and I believe that xCloud can reach and surpass that development, its roadmap is promising. Congratulations to the xCloud team, I hope they become the leading platform in the segment, it has all the potential to achieve it!
Brian GeovannyI've been with runcloud for the last 3 years. However, after trying xcloud for the last month, I'm switching over. They are on a roll with their setup.
Kevin PinedaI'm moving my servers to xCloud, a cloud control panel by M Asif Rahman and the WPDeveloper team. Their roadmap looks interesting and no, there are no team mates nor API limits with xCloud! #xCloud #wordpress #hosting
Leo KooHow Cloud Nine Web Elevated Client Experience While Streamlining Hosting Operations using xCloud
Ed EllinghamxCloud is like having an expert server team on call — without the big agency costs. It's given me back my time and given my clients peace of mind. Highly recommended for freelancers and small teams who want reliable performance and security.
Dumitru ButucelxCloud isn't just a solution. It's like one of that friend who got your back when you screw things up pretty bad.
Waqar AhmedTrust me when I say, once people explore the potential of xCloud they gonna switch from other panels, just keep delivering the best tech, lots of love for the team 😍😍
Rahul SinghSo far my experience has been smooth like silk. I didn't imagine that configuring and managing a VPS would be so easy. As of today, I have deployed 8 sites. The support is good, and they treat users with respect, even if they ask stupid questions (myself included). For the future, I hope for greater flexibility in scheduled backups and more comprehensive and consistent documentation. I'm sure that within a few months, xCloud will become the leader in its segment. This community is amazing, and the Staff here is super helpful.
Massimo VillaCame from cloudways then to runcloud then to xcloud. Looks like I'm staying here.
Gerson ElI've recently taken all of my Vultr-hosted sites and gotten rid of cPanel for them to substitute it with xCloud. I have to say, I'm really impressed with xCloud so far! The interface is definitely the standout feature for me.
Tony LewisI came from Cloudways and won't go back. Highly impressed with xCloud. Glad I gave them a chance.
Jared McDowellI like xCloud better than RunCloud, but one thing I'll point out is that some years ago RunCloud was hungry for business, the support was outstanding, and the community was active and helped each other. Maybe it was sold, there was a change in management, or they stopped being hungry, but the quality of the RunCloud offering declined and it hasn't been moving forward quickly. My point is that currently the xCloud team has the edge and it is theirs to keep or lose
David McCanHow Kevin Heinrichs Cut Hosting Costs by 84% While Running WooCommerce & Node.js Sites Efficiently
Kevin HeinrichsI had 150 sites on cloudways and am in the process of moving them to xcloud. Much faster and better priced.
Dan SpinozaDear xCloud Team, I have been using xCloud for some time now and am genuinely impressed with its capabilities and the flexibility it offers by allowing users to bring their own VPS for management. It's a fantastic service, and my experience so far has been very positive. Successful migrated 5 sites on a single server. Xcloud migration tool worked great. There were few hiccups with security plugin like MalCare but disabling the plugin prior to migration worked just fine.
Rahil MaknojiaCame from runcloud. Tried xcloud and never came back.

Yes. SQL Chat is MIT licensed. You pay for the Cloud VPS, and your OpenAI-compatible provider bills you separately for the prompts, so that cost depends on how often your team asks questions. Nothing else needs a licence.
The floor is one core, 512 MB of RAM and 1 GB of disk, because the Next.js app and the Caddy gateway are all that run. The 6 GB plan is far above that, which leaves room for other apps on the same server.
Yes, and this template is SQL Chat Docker hosting without the build: an xCloud-built image of upstream commit 7a638846, pinned by digest, behind a Caddy Basic Auth gateway, with a generated password and session secret, and HTTPS on your domain.
In your browser only. The server stores nothing, so a restart loses nothing server-side, but clearing browser data removes your saved connections and chats, so keep your own record of them. There is no volume to back up on the server.
MySQL, PostgreSQL and SQL Server, among others, as listed by upstream. The database must be reachable from the server, because the connection is opened from there and not from your browser, so check firewalls and allowed addresses.
Not without the gateway password. Basic Authentication covers the whole site, so people use the key without seeing it. Anyone with the shared login can spend it, though, and the assistant can modify data, so give database users only the access they need.
They are read at container start, so edit them in the site's Environment editor and use Save & Redeploy. The endpoint is a base URL without /v1, which lets you point at an OpenAI-compatible provider instead of OpenAI.
There is no data volume to back up, because the build stores nothing on the server. Keep your admin password and API key, and export or note your saved connections in the browser, since clearing browser data removes them.
The install stays on the pinned main-7a63884 build until you adopt a newer template version. Upstream publishes no release tags, so read the repository's recent commits first. Nothing upgrades the app automatically, and a redeploy loses no server data.
Upstream runs a hosted version at sqlchat.ai; its README notes that your database must then accept connections from any IP, because that service runs on Vercel with dynamic addresses. This page is your own SQL Chat cloud instead: a private instance on a dedicated Cloud VPS.
Yes. There is no lock-in — cancel any time. Hosting is billed monthly and charged for what you actually use, so when you delete the server the unused balance is refunded to your account, less up to 10% in payment-processing fees.
Connect your first server in minutes. No plan you have to grow into.
