Deploy Tuwunel + Element hosting and give your team a federated, end-to-end encrypted Matrix chat server with a browser chat app, on your own domains. xCloud runs the pinned Tuwunel v1.9.4 homeserver and Element Web v1.12.30 side by side, generates the registration token, mounts a persistent volume and publishes both over HTTPS in minutes, with Element already pointed at your server.
Tuwunel is a Matrix homeserver written in Rust, and Element Web is the Matrix chat client that runs in the browser. Matrix is an open protocol for federated, end-to-end encrypted messaging: your server stores your users' rooms and messages, and can talk to other Matrix servers.
This template installs both. The homeserver is the site's main domain and its permanent Matrix server name; Element Web gets its own second domain and is preconfigured for your server. If you only need the homeserver and will bring your own clients, the separate Tuwunel OneClick app installs it on a single domain.
A Matrix chat server normally means a homeserver, a web client, two domains, federation discovery, a registration policy, a volume and certificates before the first message. This is the same result without assembling any of it.
Step 01
Create your xCloud account and pick Tuwunel + Element from the OneClick catalog. Choose two domains — one for the Matrix homeserver and one for Element Web. The homeserver domain becomes your permanent Matrix server name, so pick the final one.
Step 02
One click. We bring up the official Tuwunel homeserver and Element Web images, pinned by immutable digest, mount the tuwunel_data volume, generate the registration token, serve Matrix discovery on the homeserver domain and publish both domains over HTTPS.
Step 03
Open the HTTPS Element Web address from your installation credentials, choose Create account, pick a username and password and paste the registration token. Register the first account straight away — it becomes the server administrator — then create your first room and invite your team.
Tuwunel + Element runs in full here: a Matrix homeserver and its web client on your own domains, with the data on a volume you own.
Tuwunel and Element Web install side by side, and Element opens already connected to your homeserver, so users only pick a username and password.
Element's security notes advise against serving the client from the homeserver's domain, so this bundle gives each its own HTTPS domain.
Discovery is served on the homeserver domain over port 443, so users on other Matrix servers can reach yours.
Registration needs the generated registration token, and the first account registered becomes the server administrator.
The homeserver URL also works in other Matrix apps such as Element X or FluffyChat.
The tuwunel_data volume holds the database, signing keys, uploaded media and accounts; Element Web keeps no server-side state.
Managed hosting for Tuwunel + Element, so the parts that keep it online are not your problem.
Give a team or community a private chat service where the rooms, accounts and message history live on a server you control.
Federation lets your users join rooms and message people on other Matrix homeservers without leaving your domain.
Registration requires the registration token, so only people you share it with can create an account.
Users can chat in the browser through Element Web or connect Element X, FluffyChat and other Matrix clients to the same homeserver.

xCloud works really well, I am surprised by its performance being this the release version, I have tried many paid platforms such as runcloud, cloudpages or serveravatar, as well as free platforms such as CyberPanel, CloudPanel or Hestia Control Panel and direct competitors such as SpinupWP and FlyWP. Of all those that I have tried, the platform that works best for WordPress is SpinupWP and I believe that xCloud can reach and surpass that development, its roadmap is promising. Congratulations to the xCloud team, I hope they become the leading platform in the segment, it has all the potential to achieve it!
Brian GeovannyI've been with runcloud for the last 3 years. However, after trying xcloud for the last month, I'm switching over. They are on a roll with their setup.
Kevin PinedaI'm moving my servers to xCloud, a cloud control panel by M Asif Rahman and the WPDeveloper team. Their roadmap looks interesting and no, there are no team mates nor API limits with xCloud! #xCloud #wordpress #hosting
Leo KooHow Cloud Nine Web Elevated Client Experience While Streamlining Hosting Operations using xCloud
Ed EllinghamxCloud is like having an expert server team on call — without the big agency costs. It's given me back my time and given my clients peace of mind. Highly recommended for freelancers and small teams who want reliable performance and security.
Dumitru ButucelxCloud isn't just a solution. It's like one of that friend who got your back when you screw things up pretty bad.
Waqar AhmedTrust me when I say, once people explore the potential of xCloud they gonna switch from other panels, just keep delivering the best tech, lots of love for the team 😍😍
Rahul SinghSo far my experience has been smooth like silk. I didn't imagine that configuring and managing a VPS would be so easy. As of today, I have deployed 8 sites. The support is good, and they treat users with respect, even if they ask stupid questions (myself included). For the future, I hope for greater flexibility in scheduled backups and more comprehensive and consistent documentation. I'm sure that within a few months, xCloud will become the leader in its segment. This community is amazing, and the Staff here is super helpful.
Massimo VillaCame from cloudways then to runcloud then to xcloud. Looks like I'm staying here.
Gerson ElI've recently taken all of my Vultr-hosted sites and gotten rid of cPanel for them to substitute it with xCloud. I have to say, I'm really impressed with xCloud so far! The interface is definitely the standout feature for me.
Tony LewisI came from Cloudways and won't go back. Highly impressed with xCloud. Glad I gave them a chance.
Jared McDowellI like xCloud better than RunCloud, but one thing I'll point out is that some years ago RunCloud was hungry for business, the support was outstanding, and the community was active and helped each other. Maybe it was sold, there was a change in management, or they stopped being hungry, but the quality of the RunCloud offering declined and it hasn't been moving forward quickly. My point is that currently the xCloud team has the edge and it is theirs to keep or lose
David McCanHow Kevin Heinrichs Cut Hosting Costs by 84% While Running WooCommerce & Node.js Sites Efficiently
Kevin HeinrichsI had 150 sites on cloudways and am in the process of moving them to xcloud. Much faster and better priced.
Dan SpinozaDear xCloud Team, I have been using xCloud for some time now and am genuinely impressed with its capabilities and the flexibility it offers by allowing users to bring their own VPS for management. It's a fantastic service, and my experience so far has been very positive. Successful migrated 5 sites on a single server. Xcloud migration tool worked great. There were few hiccups with security plugin like MalCare but disabling the plugin prior to migration worked just fine.
Rahil MaknojiaCame from runcloud. Tried xcloud and never came back.

Gary MoodyxCloud gave me what no other hosting platform could: the flexibility of a VPS with the convenience of managed WordPress. As a solo founder running an entire business on one server, that combination is an important unfair advantage.

The Tuwunel app installs only the homeserver on one domain. Tuwunel + Element adds the Element Web chat client on its own domain, preconfigured for your server, so your team can chat in a browser right after install.
Open the Element Web address from your installation credentials, choose Create account, and register with the registration token. There is no default account, and the first account registered becomes the server administrator.
Yes. Federation is enabled and discovery is served on the homeserver domain over HTTPS port 443, so users on other Matrix servers can join your rooms and message your users. Federation was confirmed in QA with a federation tester.
Yes. Use the homeserver URL from the credentials in any Matrix client, such as Element X or FluffyChat.
No. Tuwunel fixes the Matrix server name on first start and refuses to start if it changes, so moving the homeserver to a new domain means starting over with an empty data volume. Install on the final homeserver domain. The Element Web domain can be changed at any time; Element and its shareable room links follow automatically.
Treat it as a secret: anyone who has it can create an account. Rotate it by editing TUWUNEL_REGISTRATION_TOKEN in the environment and redeploying; the token is re-read on every restart.
The tuwunel_data volume, which holds the database, signing keys, uploaded media and accounts. Element Web stores no server-side data. Do not restore the volume onto a different homeserver domain.
Users, rooms and messages, because they sit on the tuwunel_data named volume; they persisted across an xCloud Restart in QA.
No. Voice and video calling (TURN / Element Call) is not included in this template.
Uploads in chat are limited to about 20 MB per request.
The template's baseline asks for 1 CPU core, 512 MB of RAM and 5 GB of disk; measured idle use in QA was about 62 MiB (homeserver about 56 MiB, Element about 6 MiB), and the baseline leaves room for database growth once the server federates and joins large rooms. This page sells the 6 GB tier as the entry rung, with real headroom above that baseline.
No. The template pins Tuwunel and Element Web by immutable digest; new installations use the pinned release, existing sites are not automatically upgraded. Take a volume backup, read the upstream release notes for both Tuwunel and Element Web, then bump each readable tag and digest together on your own schedule. The homeserver has a 30-minute stop grace period so a first-boot database migration after an upgrade is not interrupted. Server-level backups and snapshots are available on every Cloud VPS.
No. No official partnership or endorsement between xCloud and the Tuwunel + Element project has been verified. This is a deployment and server-management option for the open-source Tuwunel + Element project.
Yes. There is no lock-in — cancel any time. Hosting is billed monthly and charged for what you actually use, so when you delete the server the unused balance is refunded to your account, less up to 10% in payment-processing fees.
Connect your first server in minutes. No credit card required, and no plan you have to grow into.
