Self-hosted RustDesk Server is a remote desktop relay server. Its README describes the backend for RustDesk: hbbs, the ID and rendezvous server, hbbr, the relay server, and rustdesk-utils, with the project saying you can self-host your own server for free as open source. How much RAM does RustDesk Server need?

For the hbbs and hbbr roles the manifest sets a floor of one core, a gigabyte of RAM and 5 GB of disk. The 6 GB Cloud VPS sold here is above that floor, but relay bandwidth and session capacity depend on your traffic, so measure real use before sizing.

Is RustDesk Server free and open source?

Yes. Its README says you can self-host your own RustDesk server and that it is free and open source, and the repository's LICENSE at the 1.1.16 tag is the AGPL-3.0. xCloud charges for the dedicated Cloud VPS, not for the software.

Nothing upgrades it for you: the image is pinned at 1.1.16 by immutable digest. Stop active sessions, copy rustdesk_data, skim the upstream release notes, then adopt a newer template version when one is published, and confirm the public key stayed the same.

Is this RustDesk Server cloud hosting?
